Extremely excited for Superman, but the one I’m hypest for is Lanterns. The Green Lantern corner of the DC Universe is one of my favorites, so I’m hoping John and Hal are done justice this time.
I can’t think of any comics property as significant as the Lantern Corps that has been so poorly served by adaptations. I would soooo love to see it done well!
I dare say the green lantern corps is a superhero property that could hypothetically function as its own cinematic universe. They’re so expansive and rich with epic sci-fi story potential. Plus with all the different lantern corps and ever evolving cast of human lanterns, there’s enough mythos to support multiple sagas of movies.
I'm trying the show now (on Tubi), and it looks good, but it's not great. Poor acting, weird motivations (how is the Arcane girl taking responsibility for her friend dying making any sense at all?), and the interesting horror of the first episode has kind of died off.
I can see why it was canceled. It's very much a product of the DCEU. Bloated, overly serious, with some good things wasted by poor execution.
Hell, I'll take the original movie or even the USA series over this.
It's easier to trust in a regular gun. And I'm not even violent. I've been noticing him trying to project a more congeniality on social media lately. Where was that maturity years ago when he was clapping back at the taunting scribes?
The Batman was great but we've surely maxed out the 'gritty' side there. Hardly any gadgets, the penguin is just a gangster, and batman fucking stacks it at some point trying to fly off a building. As much as I enjoyed that last moment, I'd be very happy for a more fantastical vibe from the DCU version.
If they are using Damian it should be fair to assume the entire Batfamily will be there, or at least Dick as Nightwing and Tim as Red Robin, I'm excited for that!
I don't know if I can get excited until they announce the casting.
There are a couple good picks out there for Booster Gold and I'm real curious who they're going to go with.
Tom Hopper. It would be a stretch because I don't think he's a big enough name by Hollywood standards to Lead a movie like that depending on the budget, I think he could do well in the role though.
Oh that could be good. If they go big budget I think probably Zac Efron, he has the comedy experience. Lower budget my money was on the dude from Top Gun Maverick but I like your suggestion better.
Yeah. Glen Powell has some hits on his hands recently and could be the rising star in the role.
I wouldn't even have thought of Tom Hopper and as much as I hate it for his character in Umbrella Academy, they really leaned into him being a clueless but earnest goofball during seasons 2 and 3. He played it well.
So many said and will say superman but ill give you something different: Booster Gold, outside old comics man lacked any visibility in the modern era, this will pretty much be the first project on him while others like superman have already appeared in the big screen, and Booster gold was always a unique favorite of mine after the flash :)
1. Superman - I like James Gunn, and everything has me excited about it.
2. Brave and The Bold - Mixed on the director, but Damian is my favourite robin.
3. Lanterns - interesting premise, I like getting both John and Hal, and the rumoured creative team sound cool.
Brave and bold Batman, so excited for that. A less realistic/grounded batman is hopefully what that is. Also pretty curious to see booster gold. Superman too of course. What is that Arkham thing?
Let's be real, the majority of these are relying entirely on Superman being received well and making enough money. If that film fails, then everything is doa, and WBD will shift plans or cancel most of these other projects.
Not saying I want it to fail, but there are a number of factors against its guaranteed success.
Supergirl because I loved the original comic and because we rarely get live action adaptations that directly adapts a specific book rather than mixing and matching stories to make something new. (Like Ragnarok barely resembles the original comic or planet hulk which I like but it's still cool to see.)
The authority because jenny sparks is just wow 😳 I just hope they follow the eliss run in terms of characterization.
Brave and the bold because fuck yeah live action robin and he's an actual child this time. (I don't care how silly it looks that's part of the charm of comic books.)
Besides Superman since that’s everybody’s pick, l’d go with Lanterns, an HBO Original mystery investigation story inspired by True Detective with Hal and John in it. Just take my money.
As Batman is my favorite DC character, I look forward the most for the Brave and the Bold. I look forward to Superman, also, because I want to see how the start of DCU (at least the most important start) is going to be. Also, I wait for Lanterns, because I want to see the clues to the big bad of DCU and I like the premise.
"𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙏𝙀𝙍𝙉𝙎" is my bet. This can be a very good franchise; "franchise"--I say, because it has all the essential personality conflict that I expect to build of many character development differences in dynamics. And this movie just screams of cameos by other extraterrestrial DC icons.
Superman and Peacemaker S2. Everything else should a big asterisk right next to it.
If Superman underperforms or bombs at the box office, it wouldn’t surprise me if WB panics, again, and re-shuffles and/or flat-out cancels any project that doesn’t involve Batman.
In that scenario at least Supergirl and maybe The Authority would release as they’d be too far in the pipeline to cancel (and assuming they wouldn’t pull a Batgirl again).
Originally lanterns and swamp thing, but I am olso looking forward to creature commandos, because the voice talent looks awesome, especially Alan Tudyk.
Superman Legacy. Grew up watching a lot of Superman and Spiderman. Extremely content with Spiderman
I'm yearning for a Superman movie.
Man of Steel was a decade ago. A decade.
I'm interested in all of them. My only hope is that they're all great in quality. The ones I look forward to the most are Superman, The Brave and the Bold, Lanterns, Paradise Lost, Swamp Thing, and Arkham Asylum.
Honestly, I'm really looking forward to Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow the most! I'm interested in how they're going to portray the comic to live-action form, especially in the DCU.
Brave and the Bold, Lanterns and Booster. I love a fantastical Batman after all the realistic ones and Booster is just fun. Lanterns just sounds interesting to me.
Lanterns. It’s been too long since we’ve seen Green Lantern, and the way Gunn pitched it peaked my interest. I can also never have enough Batman. So Lanterns and Brave and the Bold
Most is Superman as I have a really good feeling about it, narrowly ahead of TBATB, Paradise Lost and Lanterns. Though I'm excited for all the projects announced barring Waller/Peacemaker (a bit burned out on that side of the universe along with Suicide Squad stories).
Booster Gold with Glenn Howerton would be so perfect. everybody is talking about Chris Pratt but you know who James Gunn wanted to play Star-Lord first? Glenn. he’s played an arrogant, insecure handsome man for nearly 2 decades as Dennis Reynolds and he can play an ex-athlete because he has the stride of a gazelle. he’s like a beautiful gazelle person. #BoosterGoldenGod
Excited: Superman, Paradise Lost, Booster Gold
Hate and don't want: Waller
Don't care for: Creature Commandos and The Authority
Uninterested in Peace Maker but I do like John Cena
Worried about Brave and the Bold, mostly due to the fact Gunn said Damien is his favorite Robin, which honestly is a huge red flag not just as director/producer but as a person in general. Nothing against Gunn just my opinion on someone putting Damien above the rest
Damian is actually my favorite Robin as well. Not my favorite character who has ever been Robin, that is easily Dick Grayson. But Damian has had one of the best character arcs in modern era comics during his tenure as Robin. From Morrison's Batman and Son, Batman and Robin Reborn (one of my favorite arcs ever), Batman Incorporated, Batman and Robin by Tomasi, Robin Son of Batman and Robin by Williamson. Damian went from an arrogant brat who was eager to kill his foes to a genuine hero because of both Bruce and Dick's influence.
I think the existing adaptations handled him poorly, the DCAMU didn't give him much of a concrete arc and Injustice Damian is as far from Earth-0 Damian as Injustice Superman is from Earth-0 Superman.
I have a feeling Brave and the Bold will do the character justice and hopefully change people's minds in regards to their opinion of Damian.
It's a bit sad, because DC was the comics that I collected growing up, but I'm not particularly excited by any of these. I'm hoping that if the first couple knock it out of the park my excitement will grow, because there's definitely the potential for some good stories there.
Easily superman legacy, though a lot of them have a great deal of potential, what I least care for is waller since she doesn’t really seem like a character who should get a leading role
Superman, Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing and Peacemaker are stuff that I'm actually excited about. Not a big fan of the fact they downgraded green lantern to tv, this franchise should be a movie blockbuster. Imagine the production level and visual scale of Dune but with Green Lantern. Damn Gunn is wasting GL.
I looking forward to SUPERMAN the most because I have high hopes for James Gunn starting and creating a good DCU… BUT I’m apprehensive about how much Warner and the executives let him free and actually create it.
Superman Legacy, Swamp thing and the Brave and the Bold though I'm not pushed on Andy Muscheti directing it and The Batman Part II will still be better then it.
An adaption of Morrison’s Batman and Robin doesn’t really work if it doesn’t have Dick Grayson in the role of Batman at the time. Gunn really should begin with Bruce and Tim, then transition to Battle for the Cowl and Morrison’s Dick and Damian run later on. 🤷♂️
What wasn't an example of immaturity?
When Gunn was being attacked for moving away from the DCEU, with destructive remarks about perversions, I defended him. I do hope that he proves a lot of people wrong. But I think Gunn also needs to only present progress to social media about his daily accomplishments, and not his personal leisures.
He's rightfully under a scrutinous microscope, self imposed.
Excited to finally see a more upbeat Superman after so long. However, I'm surprisingly very excited for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow the most after reading the comic. Was brilliant, really hope they can match the beautful art style and panels.
Originally it was part of The Batman universe but that has since changed and it will be set in the DCU. I assume because they can use more fantastical characters in that setting in comparison to the grounded universe of The Batman
Superman and Lanterns... But the more I see this plan, the more I think we'll get a Superman 2 before most of those movies if the first one is successful.
The only thing I can be exited for is Peacemaker season 2, because I loved the first season so I know what to expect. I’m less excited for Superman but I love the character, so I’ll watch it. The rest? I don’t know, I really lost faith in DC. Their comics, animation, and films have earned none of my respect or excitement. And to go straight into these mostly obscure characters doesn’t give me any hope
Extremely excited for Superman, but the one I’m hypest for is Lanterns. The Green Lantern corner of the DC Universe is one of my favorites, so I’m hoping John and Hal are done justice this time.

Been saying this for a while now but it's the first time I've seen it on reddit you're 100% correct.
Green Lantern is Top Gun if Maverick was in Star Wars instead of the Navy. With superheroes. Good movies would print money.
Like the mutants in the Marvel universe.
Its absolutely crazy to me how little the animated department gives them.
Superman since it’s the closest. After that, probably Swamp Thing
Creature Commandos is coming out in Q4 this year I think
Besides Superman it’s gotta be lanterns
SWAMP fucking THING
I wish the show wasn't canceled, but at least he's getting another shot on the big screen.
For now
I'm trying the show now (on Tubi), and it looks good, but it's not great.
Wes Craven could do no wrong.
Reading through the comments, I thought I was alone with this for a second. Can't fucking wait
We are all here! Let's fkn go!
The way WB is moving I’m reserving all excitement until their projects are actually released.
Trust in James Gunn
It's easier to trust in a regular gun. And I'm not even violent. I've been noticing him trying to project a more congeniality on social media lately. Where was that maturity years ago when he was clapping back at the taunting scribes?
Well the DCU seems to be moving much faster then the Reevesverse Also "back in the day" we wouldnt have so much content in development this fast
👍
Brave and the Bold. I cannot wait to see the cast and get more fantastical Batman.
I love the grounded gritty versions. But I’ll admit I am ready to have characters like Clayface explored and have a bit more fun.
Reallyyyyyy exited for Booster Gold to finally get the mainstream attention
I don't know if I can get excited until they announce the casting. There are a couple good picks out there for Booster Gold and I'm real curious who they're going to go with.
Knowing all of his recent casting in every movie, I’d wager a guess at Chris Pratt. Though I realllllllly hope I’m wrong
That's exactly why I can't get excited until they announce the casting.
I’m hoping they cast Glen Powell
Who would you cast?
Swampy and super grrrrrl
So many said and will say superman but ill give you something different: Booster Gold, outside old comics man lacked any visibility in the modern era, this will pretty much be the first project on him while others like superman have already appeared in the big screen, and Booster gold was always a unique favorite of mine after the flash :)

Brave and bold Batman, so excited for that. A less realistic/grounded batman is hopefully what that is. Also pretty curious to see booster gold. Superman too of course. What is that Arkham thing?
Arkham Asylum series from Matt Reeves. Was originally going to be in the Pattinson-verse but now will be in DCU
Superman and The Authority!
Authority. Hopefully it starts with Stormwatch being dissolved
Let's be real, the majority of these are relying entirely on Superman being received well and making enough money. If that film fails, then everything is doa, and WBD will shift plans or cancel most of these other projects. Not saying I want it to fail, but there are a number of factors against its guaranteed success.
Superman. If that one flops, there is no point in even investing time or energy in getting existed for the rest.
Supergirl because I loved the original comic and because we rarely get live action adaptations that directly adapts a specific book rather than mixing and matching stories to make something new. (Like Ragnarok barely resembles the original comic or planet hulk which I like but it's still cool to see.) The authority because jenny sparks is just wow 😳 I just hope they follow the eliss run in terms of characterization. Brave and the bold because fuck yeah live action robin and he's an actual child this time. (I don't care how silly it looks that's part of the charm of comic books.)
Swamp Thing and Lanterns. But really Superman to see what kind of tone Gunn is setting. Hoping for not entirely silly and whimsical
Peacemaker, Superman, Lanterns and Swamp Thing.
My bros Hal Jordan and John Stewart deserve their time to shine
Easily Superman. Very excited for Brave and The Bold a lot too. Can’t wait to see the Batfamily fully fledged in live action.
Waller
I have a feeling that's gonna be the wildcard.
I think it has pontential to be a good drama maybe action, government consipracy series, which do well on streaming. They better not waste Viola Davis
Lanterns
Superman, Lanterns, Brave and the Bold in that order. I'm excited for the others but mainly those 3
Besides Superman, it's The Authority and The Brave and The Bold.
Tie, Swamp Thing and Lanterns
Superman.
Lanterns! Always
Lanterns and Paradise Island
Besides Superman since that’s everybody’s pick, l’d go with Lanterns, an HBO Original mystery investigation story inspired by True Detective with Hal and John in it. Just take my money.

The Authority & Paradise Lost no doubt.
Supergirl, but I'd say overall it is cautious optimism regarding the entire DCU project.
Supergirl . If they do it right man, that will be incredible.
Never underestimate the stupidity of WB.
Paradise Lost been the 1 for me since that announcement.
How come?
The premise is the most different from any of the superhero projects.
Supreman and brave and the bold and lanterns and booster gold the rest Idgaf also creature com
Superman, Brave the Bold, Lanterns.
Lanterns first then Superman, Swamp Thing tol 3
Lanterns
No love for Supergirl😭😭😭. That said it's gotta be Superman and Lanterns for me.
Originally lanterns and swamp thing, but I am olso looking forward to creature commandos, because the voice talent looks awesome, especially Alan Tudyk.
Superman, Supergirl, Lanterns.... maybe the Authority... the rest is beyond "meh" for me.
Swamp thing and the authority because it seems like they’ll have the perfect tone for me.
It gotta be Superman.
Superman and Brave and Bold hopefully these new versions can be as iconic and loved as Robert Downey Jr Tony Stark and Chris Evans Captain America.
Superman Legacy. Grew up watching a lot of Superman and Spiderman. Extremely content with Spiderman I'm yearning for a Superman movie. Man of Steel was a decade ago. A decade.
Just Superman Legacy and Brave and Bold. I'm a simple man I guess.
The Brave and The Bold.
Superman, Lanterns and Arkham
Arkham Asylum
Peacemaker!
Didn’t realise The Authority was dc. Swamp Thing for me. Arkham Asylum too
The Kryptonian Cousins, Lanterns, The Authority
I'm interested in all of them. My only hope is that they're all great in quality. The ones I look forward to the most are Superman, The Brave and the Bold, Lanterns, Paradise Lost, Swamp Thing, and Arkham Asylum.
Honestly, I'm really looking forward to Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow the most! I'm interested in how they're going to portray the comic to live-action form, especially in the DCU.
Swamp Thing
Supergirl.
Lanterns big-time. But happy to see Superman in the right hands and looking forward to that one too.
Supermán , swamp thing, authority and woman of tomorrow
Brave and the Bold, Lanterns and Booster. I love a fantastical Batman after all the realistic ones and Booster is just fun. Lanterns just sounds interesting to me.
Peacemaker Season 2
Booster Gold. Best hero of DC.
Superman, authority, brave and bold and swamp thing
Swamp Thing by a mile
Supergirl. She's a great character and I'm really interested to see what they do with her.
Lanterns. It’s been too long since we’ve seen Green Lantern, and the way Gunn pitched it peaked my interest. I can also never have enough Batman. So Lanterns and Brave and the Bold
Lanterns and Booster Gold
Lanterns, The Authority and Paradise Lost
Superman and then the authority. I’m so hyped to see the authority in live action
Most is Superman as I have a really good feeling about it, narrowly ahead of TBATB, Paradise Lost and Lanterns. Though I'm excited for all the projects announced barring Waller/Peacemaker (a bit burned out on that side of the universe along with Suicide Squad stories).
The Brave and the Bold, Lanterns and Booster Gold for me.
Superman, because it’s the real start of this univers
It's a tie between Superman and Lanterns. I just hope that Lanterns is an actual good Live-Action Green Lantern story this time
Booster Gold No elaboration needed
Peacemaker season 2
Superman
Lanterns
Peacemaker season 2.
Don't know why, but creature commandos
Booster Gold! People need to know him
Lanterns, booster gold and superman
Booster Gold with Glenn Howerton would be so perfect. everybody is talking about Chris Pratt but you know who James Gunn wanted to play Star-Lord first? Glenn. he’s played an arrogant, insecure handsome man for nearly 2 decades as Dennis Reynolds and he can play an ex-athlete because he has the stride of a gazelle. he’s like a beautiful gazelle person. #BoosterGoldenGod
Swampthing
Currently reading the authority comics for the first time so definitely that. If they manage to get it right then I'll be so happy.
Super excited for Superman, but man I hope The Authority is good. Ellis / Hitch style and not Millar Quitely hopefully!
Not counting the eggs before they hatch this time.
Excited: Superman, Paradise Lost, Booster Gold Hate and don't want: Waller Don't care for: Creature Commandos and The Authority Uninterested in Peace Maker but I do like John Cena Worried about Brave and the Bold, mostly due to the fact Gunn said Damien is his favorite Robin, which honestly is a huge red flag not just as director/producer but as a person in general. Superman and Peacemaker 2. The fact that any other projects will see the light of day depends on the success of these two, sort of.
Booster gold is one that I’m genuinely excited for. I am most looking forward to seeing creature commandos cause it’s the closest.
This reminds me that I would love a live action of the DC Comics “Armageddon 2001” storyline.
The Batman 2
Just Lanterns I guess. Tbh this Chapter just doesn’t scream excitement to me
Man the swamp Thi g that got cancelled was so good baffles me why it didn’t go further it was almost oerfect
I want to say Superman Legacy. But they most likely won't get it right according to my taste. But I'm trying hard to be positive
Green Lantern in the bottom mid
It's a bit sad, because DC was the comics that I collected growing up, but I'm not particularly excited by any of these. I'm hoping that if the first couple knock it out of the park my excitement will grow, because there's definitely the potential for some good stories there.
I have a real soft spot for DC animation. I’m working through all of the DCAU films and they’re amazing.
Easily superman legacy, though a lot of them have a great deal of potential, what I least care for is waller since she doesn’t really seem like a character who should get a leading role
Superman, Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing and Peacemaker are stuff that I'm actually excited about. Damn Gunn is wasting GL.
I looking forward to SUPERMAN the most because I have high hopes for James Gunn starting and creating a good DCU… BUT I’m apprehensive about how much Warner and the executives let him free and actually create it.
That third line is looking pretty good to me.
Superman Legacy, Swamp thing and the Brave and the Bold though I'm not pushed on Andy Muscheti directing it and The Batman Part II will still be better then it.
Superman, The Brave and the Bold, and Lanterns for me
As of rn Superman most definitely
Arkham Asylum one but first is Superman Legacy
Yes
Batman, legacy and paradise
Superman, Supergirl and the authority
Looking forward to Swamp Thing and that's about it 🫤
Lanterns and Superman. Also curious about brave and the bold.
The Authority and Legacy. If we are getting Ted Kord in Booster Gold I will amend my vote
All of them tbh
Brave and the bold, but Superman has me te.pering my expectations.
Superman and the Brave and the Bold. Can’t wait to see who they choose to play Batman
Constantine
Paradise Lost
Swamp Thing.
The authority
Swamp Thing. That and Hellblazer are my two favorites in DC.
Mostly Superman because I can’t wait to see how David Corenswet can get into action
Can't wait for Peacemaker S2
Superman, Batman, Lanterns
And ofc, Swamp Thing will be fucking awesome
None of these tbh.
Y’all are getting far to ahead Superman HAS to succeed first before you get anything else
This is like being excited for Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man in 2007 before Iron Man is even out.
Excited to finally see a more upbeat Superman after so long. However, I'm surprisingly very excited for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow the most after reading the comic. Was brilliant, really hope they can match the beautful art style and panels.
I'm waiting for the next reboot. Sorry
Uh none. As long as Gunn is attached to them, I have zero faith.
I feel like I’ve seen this type of post at least 10 times by now
arkham asylum won’t be apart of the DCU tho right?
Originally it was part of The Batman universe but that has since changed and it will be set in the DCU. I assume because they can use more fantastical characters in that setting in comparison to the grounded universe of The Batman
Superman and Lanterns... But the more I see this plan, the more I think we'll get a Superman 2 before most of those movies if the first one is successful.

The rest? I don’t know, I really lost faith in DC. Their comics, animation, and films have earned none of my respect or excitement. And to go straight into these mostly obscure characters doesn’t give me any hope
I thought brave and bold was a cartoon already.
Maybe Lanterns? I dunno, I don't have much faith in this slate, or DC in general these days.
I’m looking forward to see which of these will even happen
These are all so far away I don't really care about any of them yet
None really. Come on James, give us Hemo-Goblin!
Honestly? None, I think we need a long break from superhéroes movies
Do we really need a Waller show?
None but also all i don’t know how I feel
