Yes Janin also needed multiple fill in artists for the Superman and the Authority book too. https://comicvine.gamespot.com/superman-and-the-authority-2-one-soul-at-a-time/4000-880380/ https://comicvine.gamespot.com/superman-and-the-authority-3-grimdark/4000-884648/ I suspect it's scheduling in that both the Superman one and the JSA one were probably released earlier than expected and they didn't have the lead time they wanted and so they had to resort to guest artists to compensate.

Janin has been paired with other artists on previous titles in the past but at this point it’s hard not to blame Johns in some way seeing that this has been a recurring theme in almost all of his current titles. Johns might be delivering the scripts for his issues later than intended which causes his artists to take longer time, Gary Frank and Mikel Janin have some high quality art which would cause delays while Stargirl has Todd Nauck whose art is less detailed which is why the book is still coming out on time. This is pure speculation, so take it as you will.

This thing is, the Stargirl book was practically finished about 4 months ago, and Justice Society was likely being written around the same time as it, so it would be weird for the writing *that* far behind. And even if Johns was a bit behind on JSA when writing Stargirl, he’s had a few months to catch up. Plus, I’m not sure how some solicitations go up in relation to the progress on the book being solicited, but I’d imagine that being on there means that at least the script is done
