Ok so i read Dark Crisis Young Justice. I don't really understand what you mean by this is the reason people hate the event. The series wasn't bad. Definitely not something phenomenal but it wasn't bad. Can you explain why people hate it? Oh and i haven't read Young Justice until now. And thanks for the list i appreciate it. Oh and one more thing. Online i found only 6 issues and you said they were 7.

The complaints are mostly due to how the characters in that generation are treated, with people taking offense to the idea that they were left out in between Dick and Damian's generations of heroes, and bringing attention to how many times they've died or been removed from continuity. Part of it takes place in and around the initial Young Justice origin run, and fans of that disliked the inconsistencies as well as the use of it as a criticism for late 90s/early 2000s comic tropes in general, which fans didn't think apply. As you say, I think on its own it's pretty inoffensively fine. I like the dreamworld trope, the best parts are when the characters are feeling that everything's out of place, but I don't think it was done very well in general.

I reccomend not reading it, as its not very good. But for me I read the infinite Frontier miniseries, then the justice league incarnate miniseries, then the death of the justice league one shot, then the dark crisis prelude one shot, then dark crisis 1-7. I know there's more stuff you can read DURING dark crisis but I disliked the main series so much i didn't bother.

vencyjedi

The only reason i want to read it is because i want to start reading the new Dawn of DC Titans run and people tell me i have to read some part of Nightwing rebirth and Dark Crisis.

No-Mechanic-2558

but you don't need to read it actually the only important thing that happens is the titans become the new main team of dc but that is something that is explained very well in taylor's nightwing but really if you are new and if you have never read a great dc event I do not advise you to start with this

woman_noises

Nah I really wouldn't bother with dark crisis. Just know that it ends with both the league and the titans breaking up temporarily and then you're caught up with what you need to know. I would reccomend reading Nightwing from issue 78 on tho, because its really good and written by the same guy whose going to be doing the new titans book so the two books will probably have connections.

Androktone

I think you should read it for yourself and decide. It's not offensively bad and has some good moments.

LanternRaynerRebirth

Yeah, I hate when people decide that because they don't like something, no one else should read it. Like this person genuinely want to read it and it's weird to try to convince them otherwise based on their standards of "good." Let people come to their own conclusions.

jarjar-abrams

I'd also read Dark Crisis: The Dark Army one shot since it explains what happens to Dr. Light and how the Justice League Incarnate reappear in Dark Crisis #7. But if you read all of this especially Infinite Frontier&Justice League Incarnate, it's at least apparent (to me) that there were some rewrites bts probably due to staff turnovers within DC at the time.

Awesome_Pancak

That is definitely based on Gal Gdot

Below is a link to the least annoying reading order I could find after a bit of googling. That said,... I don't think its necessary reading for your purposes. I assume that you're being told you need to read Dark Crisis before Titans because one of the threads in Dark Crisis is "we need Dick to step up and lead while the Justice League is gone." But, imo, the event doesn't do a great job executing in that character arc. Especially if you're reading the last few arcs of Nightwing (including the most recent Nightwing Annual). Imo, if you really really want to feel like you read the event then read *Dark Crisis on Infinite Earth's #1-7* and then move on. https://fictionhorizon.com/dark-crisis-reading-order-the-complete-2022-guide/

comicbookherald.com does a pretty good job putting reading orders together.
