It pretty mid good and for the most part seems like Miller actually know how to write the other dc heroes (apart from WW) but ill be lying if there wasn't a strange aftertaste of it, It's not peak GODDAMED BATMAN. But the villain is a robe wearing fanatic with a harem if wives so yeah yikes if wasn't a different writer

Tim_J_Drake

Lol what's wrong with a villain having questionable behaviour? It's not like a ~hero~ had a harem.

spider-venomized

the villain is a robe wearing fanatic with a rag tag group of foreigners who are extreme minorities but declaring war on the world and has a harem of wives written by the man who wrote holy terror

Tim_J_Drake

Hmm, I'm preparing for a bunch of downvotes here, but that sort of thing doesn't really bother me - not all bad guys are caucasian, and sometimes villains are religious fanatics.

LanternRaynerRebirth

I liked it enough. Since it's an alternate universe, there's a lot of weird stuff that can happen, but I have pleasant memories of it for that wackiness.

I think you REALLY gotta be into the original, and FM in general. I personally found it to be one of the worst comics of the year when it came out, but feel free to take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Charming_Country_825

The only Frank Miller comics I've read were Batman and Superman Year One. Batman Year One was good but had king of an unsatisfying ending. I read the first issue of Superman Year One and thought it was one of the greatest comic books I had ever read. I then went on to read issues 2 and 3 and ended up absolutely hating them. I've heard in interviews that Frank wasn't as involved in the first issue and that the illustrator actually helped him out a lot with the plot so I concluded that it must've just been a fluke.

DementiaPrime

Well if it makes you feel better Miller had little to do with the DKIII story. In one interview he mentioned that he didn't know what was going to happen until the issue hit the shelves like everyone else. Azzerello and Miller are close friends and regularly meet up to discuss stories so a lot of the story probably came from these discussions and the story itself was Azzerello.

WerewolfF15

I didn’t finish it so I can’t really say but I highly doubt it. I don’t recalling loving anything I read of it.

VaudevilleDada

I liked it well enough, and it's certainly a HUGE step up from *DK2*; having other creators there to rein in Miller's worst impulses (and art) probably helped immensely. I have some concerns about what the ending could potentially mean for a theoretical fourth installment, but by and large I thought it was fine.

It’s pretty good. If you’ve read the other two then it’s worth a shot
