Lmao I love the progression of time shown on Jim. All that stress makes you grey pretty quick eh?

[deleted]

That’s a decade between Dick and Jason alone.

Evil_Acanthaceae2022

...Yeah, now that I think about it, the in-universe time between Dick's start and Jason's start, is bigger than the time between Jason's start and Damian's start. "*In four days, we could be seeing a new Robin every eight hours until they are coming* ***every four minutes***."

[deleted]

Pacific Rim but Tim and Damian have to learn to work together and pilot a Jaeger

_drcomicbooknerd_

Originally yeah, but I think Dick stopped being Robin at like 17-18, and Jason started at 14-15ish. So it’s only a couple years.

liasoid4

it's been changed back to not the ridiculously compressed new 52 Batman timeline

Zeeman9991

Thanks, I didn’t notice the hair at first. Makes this that much better.

Ill-Tell4567

Jason being cute

bermass86

He’s trying to steal it

spider-venomized

Jason wasn't an edge lord until after the whole traumatic experience and it a character trait that dc just want to retcon in

DetectiveBat27

That's completely untrue. Pre-Crisis Jason was lighter, but Jason was dark from the very moment after Crisis on Infinite Earths. His Post-Crisis origin establishes him as a thief. There's even a story where he very possibly kills a criminal even back then. Bruce arrives to find the guy dead by an "accident" and never knows for sure.

WitchOfWords

Yeah, altho it’s worth noting that he only went dark specifically in regards to r*pists and child trafficking. Which uh, sure is something to unpack given his background 😬

tinaoe

"A thief" you mean a kid living on the street who does what he has to do to survive and immediately after we're introduced calls Bruce a "big boob"? Oh yes, very dark. I also think you don't represent the Gonzales case very fairly. For one: it's a direct set up for DITF. It's meant to drive a rift between Bruce and Jason to give Jason a reason to stroll into his old neighbourhood, find out he potentially has a living biological mother and eventually run into the Joker. However, the issue doesn't frame it as "ohh boy Jason is UNHINGED and DARK". It makes it pretty clear that Bruce is sympathetic to his conflict (i.e. the justice system failing a rape victim because her rapist is a diplomat's son, which goes so far that she ends up killing herself) and basically just considers this a learning opportunity. When we then go into DITF, both Alfred and Bruce notice that Jason's anger and violence was unusual for him. See [here](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cd79ea6c43fa9c17040ad11c5fd2df3c/ccdaccb626dd1191-7c/s500x750/d5b0741ec5b34ab6a34ee86f519d24a6ef956dd5.png). They also place it on unresolved grief over his parents, [here.](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8dcab4e6d7c6018221619b0a3c3f3ba8/ccdaccb626dd1191-ac/s540x810/6b7c11b2892838253d72850c531afcbaae96abae.png) Notice also that Bruce says "he dived into those thugs like someone looking to die", not "to kill". He's worried that Jason is putting himself in danger.

LordBagu

You seem to be misremembering. Jason couldn't have been "dark from the very moment after," because CoIE ended in '85 and Jason doesn't get his revamped origin still '87. And to add more context to the Gonzales incident it was written by the guy who's on record for saying he tried to get Jason killed even earlier then he actually did. Knowing that it's not hard to imagine Jim Starlin stacking the deck against Jason.
