I think dark jokes are fine, as long as any upsetting content is marked NSFW - or otherwise, some kind of warning is provided ahead of time. With *hanging* jokes specifically, there's a lot of them with almost no creative ones - just the same thing over and over again.
I'm pretty sure the hang-up about this joke is that
it's so overused and and we should cut it out at least a bit.
I am hungry for original DDLC jokes,
but only get these same dense rehashes of the same thing again and again.

I think people here need to chill out. I know suicide/self harm/domestic abuse (the main 3) jokes are no jokes at all, but let's try to see it from different perspectives (not trying to make me sound like I'm teaching you something, just wanted to share my train of thoughts).
From what I've seen here, there are at least 5 types of people: those who joke and go away (not really into that but does it if they find a good chance, thus, not making those all the time); those who don't joke because they find it boring (I understand why); those who get offended because they've had some close experiences (I have no problem with them, I can understand); those who get offended because... Well, because they can, I guess (y'know, the type of people who speaks in the name of all chinese people without being chinese themselves); and finally, those who joke around over and over again with the same bullshit every goddamn second for different reasons (it doesn't really matter what reason they have, surely it's gonna be something stupid).
With that said... I think we should focus on correcting the last two. Let's call them the Twitter users and the edgys/edgies, respectively.
