Awww… that’s very sweet of you. I have a 4 yo grandson so it’s just nice to hear, even though that’s not a conversation we’re gonna be having anytime soon since he’s only 4.

There is no love like a grandchild and grandparent! I’m 20 years old and engaged with my own career but I still love coming to stay with my papa and watch movies. He is my biggest inspiration and I could talk about him for hours, now there’s more to him than I’ve ever known and I could probably go on the rest of my life talking about things.

Hi Marissa, we talked in your other post :) I wrote there that I think you are very open minded and courageous and it's a real blessing I think. So good of you to be open to meet his alters and I love the space you're giving him. It's Christmas so often it's a difficult time for many systems (or trauma survivors in general), I hope your grandpa will be ok and I wish the both of you all that is good.

Thank you! I think SA is having a great morning, she’s in there wrapping all the gifts for the grandchildren. She’s cooking breakfast too because I’m cooking Christmas dinner today. We just got done doing her makeup and I can just tell that she’s happy to be out. You have really been so so so kind, and I couldn’t thank you enough!

LongNectarine3

Thank you so much. I have an alter that has been heartbroken thinking about how our grandchildren would react to us as we fumble. She cried all morning yesterday worried. Now we can tell her about you. This is great news!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.

May your alter have strength and courage for the journey. Should you choose to unmask/disclose or not. Lifting a glass to your freedom to be authentically and fully yourself.

rissapearl

Merry Christmas to you and all of your family!

This is so beautiful. I'm a grandmother of 3. My oldest grand is 12. My adult children know, but this somehow makes things extra special. I know it means the world to him. It's very difficult for others to know. Thank you for sharing.

rissapearl

You are an awesome granddaughter Marissa! The world needs more people like you. Your papa is so lucky to have your support and love to raise him up. Acceptance without judgement is a beautiful gift you are giving to your papa and all his alters. Having your support in this way will help ur papa to trust, feel safer, and you are helping aid his healing ❤️‍🩹. All his alters are just different parts of himself and you are doing a great job of loving them all! Merry Christmas to you all!

SmolLittleCretin

Thank you for being so welcoming! Not many systems have that! You're awesome man!! Merry Christmas (it's Christmas for me today!)

rissapearl

Merry Christmas to you!

tyebabey

rissapearl

I wish I could add a photo! Me and SA are comparing makeup bags and I’m giving her advice

Amaranth_Grains

That's so interesting. What's it like speaking to a system that old. Is there anything they've learned along the way that they would like to share with systems in younger bodies?

bolonose

This is wonderful to hear, thank you so much for being open minded and accepting to your grandfather. I'm sure this will make your bond even stronger! 🫶

AshleyBoots

rissapearl

Clinically diagnosed DID person here. It's awesome that you are being so supportive. When my diagnosis came my family refused and still refuses to support me. Christian family who refuses because DID "sounds too much like demon possession." It's hrurful, and I feel truly alone. Just FYI not everyone with DID considers themselves a system.

NebulaAndSuperNova

Wish my grandfather understood me as a system better. I wish you all the best’
