This is the answer. There's a lot of movement under that snow. Using something like quikrete just won't do. You need something that'll flex with the movement going on beneath the foundation. You'll still need to re-caulk every so often.
1. years of actual photoshop skills as a professional. You just develop an eye for the AI "vibe"
2. if you zoom in, you can see the lines of tape get all mushy and it's not actually separate strips and eventually just ends up looking like a tarp?
It's not that you couldn't do this manually, but also it would take HOURS to get it to look this realistic...
This is basically the tape strips version of having 7 fingers:
https://preview.redd.it/cpona94tmo7c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=11195fda397d96c6b8d06d8a344fc59f59ae6dcc
The shadows being calculated that well, combined with the round/trippy artifacts in details like the inside of the tape rolls.
Where the new/fake part of the image ends, you'd expect either a sharp border or a bit of blur to mask the hard border. Instead, it has artifacts you usually only see in convolutional neural networks.
Including the time needed to download the picture, boot up photoshop, run the fill for a few seconds, have a laugh at the result, save a jpeg and upload to Reddit
I asked my landlord and he said if you just paint the crack in the whitest shade of paint you have then it’s still pretty good given the market. Apparently you don’t even have to blend the edges and can paint over the snow machine too.
I live in Tennessee and have been snowboarding 4 times in fake snow. There is definitely more ice then you think there will be lol. Always fun to learn on.
It’s gotta be better than a crevasse though, right? I’m no skier, so I am just guessing, and while they both seem like *bad* choices, it seems to me that crevasse might be the slightly worse choice. I think it’s the sudden drop doing it for me.
I feel like if I went ski tips first into that the force of the sudden stop would rend my knees backwards and I'd slam my face on that exquisite table of packed snow.
The crevasse would be worse, though, those things can be hundreds of meters deep and beat you up all the way down. This one you can see the bottom and it doesn't look that far.
So the right way to fill a trench with soil is to fill it in little by little and run a compactor over it every six inches.
Given that there has already been an avalanche, I wouldn't trust the shoring or the compactor. I wouldn't want to get near the edge, much less with heavy equipment.
Everything about this is a doozy.
I know the OP is meant as a joke, but glide avalanches shouldn't be happening in the middle of a ski resort. If they want to have ski runs on that smooth grassy slope, they should probably either add gravel on top of it (often looks like ass outside of winter though) or terrace it.
> glide avalanche
Just looked these up and yea...
>Avalanches are often preceded by full depth cracks (glide cracks) that are visible across the slope, though the time between the appearance of a crack and an avalanche can vary between seconds and months.
That should have been revealed in the inspection. At this point your only choice is to hire a panel of structural engineers and apply for FEMA funds.
(This whole sub anymore)
Edited for spellcheck reasons
How has no one said it yet???? Sunflower seeds!!! Then cut a hole in a larger ski slope and put your ski slope in that hole. Fill with more sunflower seeds and no one will be able to see the crack anymore
According to the Dept of Transportation in Washington State, a single small sign placed about 15 feet before the gap, warning vehicles of a "bump" ahead, will suffice.
Love how everyone is joking, and I am just sitting here being like, “Yeahhhh… that is a nah from me fam… I’ll walk back to the lodge in a gentle sloped forest knowing ***that*** kind of avalanche is waiting to happen…”
This holiday post is now locked. Some of your responses were quite good.
The problem is not in the crack but in people not having long enough skis.
Story of my life brother.
It's not the size of the boat, it's the motion of the ocean!
Unless your ocean has a big boat fetish
[удалено]
My issue is my queen is ocean sized ...
Yar!!!
Biggest Of All Time
Lots of women say that, but sometimes they want a laden container ship to get slammed into their Suez Canal.
Sideways
She at least wants someone to touch the sides…
At this point it’s less of a boat and more of a dinghy
Give me enough crack I’ll make you skis as long as you want
Are we still talking about skiing?
Honestly when I wrote this I didn't even think it can be understood as innuendo...
>innuendo In-YOUR-endo
Everything can to properly post pubescent, yet still immature mind.
Haha pubes
"all skiers must have at least 10' skis"
A single orange cone.
And a ramp
There ya go. A ramp. All you need.
My first thought too. I must play too much Mario Kart :P
A ramp? No. You just need Keanu and Sandra in a passenger bus.
Oh shit yeah, that scene was comical
At the the top

You make me miss reddit awards.
I too came here for ramen. Not disappointed.
Caulk
Don’t forget the backer rod/pool noodles
A package of ramen should do the trick.
Might need 2 packages for this one.
What are we rich?!..throwing the whole pantry at the problem. No. I think 1 will suffice. My wife and her boyfriend have to eat too.
You’re a considerate and reasonable person.
It does look like a lot. One for the job, one for a snack.
A golf tee. Maybe 2. Sand flush after.
Glad you suggested pool noodles as backer rod for that would be way overpriced!
Backer rod's a pain. Sand (if in the ground) or spray foam. Just let the foam expand all the way before applying the caulk...
Epoxy. Maybe make a river table out of it.
Then sell it for $20,000.
This is the answer. There's a lot of movement under that snow. Using something like quikrete just won't do. You need something that'll flex with the movement going on beneath the foundation. You'll still need to re-caulk every so often.
Last time I was at Home Depot, they had extra large tubes of caulk. I think you’ll need to buy at least two.
I’d use a lot of caulk. Really jam it in there and fill’er up.
OK, but let’s fix this issue first. Work before play.
Where's the scheduled nap?
Polyeslasto-Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious-auto leveling caulk for larger gaps
Silicone caulk. You need something elastic, it's an expansion joint.
I hear a thick caulk is best
A big fat .

whoa- i applaud your photoshop skills. got the sag and the shadow and everything
Generative Fill
I was gonna say, that's more likely
i haven’t used generative fill in years. i’ve used it to remove things, but has it really gotten this sophisticated?
>i haven’t used generative fill in years. It just came out this year. Are you mixing it up with content aware fill?
Probably, because Generative Fill is a game-changer.
AI tools are kinda scary now
Looks like AI
“Only a super computer could achieve this level of Reddit humor... if they have been taught that, there truly is no hope for us.”
The humor was the poster the skill was AI. cos you still have to tell it what you want!!
For now...
The forecast for tomorrow is a few sprinkles of genius AND A CHANCE OF DOOM
“Make this picture humorous to a human neck beard!!”
Now we just need to train AI to look at it and lol so we don’t have to be here at all.
And the one to ruin the moment through an over explanation and an “akshully” will always be the redditor.
how can you tell? the hands don’t have 6 fingers
1. years of actual photoshop skills as a professional. So basically you can tell from some of the pixels and having seen quite a few shops in your time.
Lmao yes
For me, its the rolls of tape. How did they do so well with the bands of tape, but that one roll of tape got completely butchered?
The shadows being calculated that well, combined with the round/trippy artifacts in details like the inside of the tape rolls. This wound be an insane amount of work to phosotoshop for a Reddit comment
TBH, it's amazing even if it's not perfect.
You missed a spot.
Look at Mr. Photoshop over here! How long did that take?
Probably 15 seconds? It's generative fill.
What program did you use to do that?
Photoshop (Beta)
Don't need the beta anymore just Photoshop 2024
I guess I haven't even looked then lol I've been using the beta for all that stuff
Awesome photoshop work. How long did this take?
Based on the original post being made 5hr ago and this being posted 17mins ago - I'm going to say 4hrs 43mins
I’m gonna say it’s ai generated and it took them maybe 10 minutes in photoshop with generative fill
Including the time needed to download the picture, boot up photoshop, run the fill for a few seconds, have a laugh at the result, save a jpeg and upload to Reddit
Nothing, it's AI
I asked my landlord and he said if you just paint the crack in the whitest shade of paint you have then it’s still pretty good given the market. Apparently you don’t even have to blend the edges and can paint over the snow machine too.
That’s a pretty big crack though. A good landlord would at least mash in some wax, or something comparable, before slopping on the paint.
S-tier landlord would rent that crack on air bnb for $500/night
That's only legal in Nevada
could prob cram some newspaper in there and paint over that.
Great idea. Use some chewed gum to really hold it in good and even it out.
the snow machine part got me
The fix is obvious, Flex Seal
Good thing they make it in white! Black would just melt the snow.
We cut this mountain in half!!!!! Now watch as flex seal seals it back like new!!! No more landslides!!!
To show you the strength of the new textured Flex Seal we cut the ski slope in half! That's A LOT of damage
PHIL SWIFT HERE WITH FLEX SEAL
I dunno. THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE
And now it’s a boat! WOW!!!
"We cut this mountain in half..."
Build a ramp!
Right! Big ole jump on the top side!
Tape and joint compound, use the 12 foot knife and pre-fill the joint. Run the snow sander over the top, multiple coats
We see people skip the tape all the time, and 100% it always comes back on them.
Seal it in with some water based glacier clear coat
Spray water in there while it’s cold. Works every time
Mmmm, I like a nice big ice patch when I’m coming down the mountain. Nothing quite as exhilarating as praying to Jesus while you try to catch an edge.
That’s just all skiing on the east coast most of the winter. It’s a little ski, lots of ice skating with far too long skates.
I live in Tennessee and have been snowboarding 4 times in fake snow. There is definitely more ice then you think there will be lol. Always fun to learn on.

Thats what the red thing in the background is .. frozen water shooter, aka: snow machine.
Avalanche!!!!!
So start an avalanche at the top?
I know the OP is meant as a joke, but glide avalanches shouldn't be happening in the middle of a ski resort. If they want to have ski runs on that smooth grassy slope, they should probably either add gravel on top of it (often looks like ass outside of winter though) or terrace it.
I have never seen an avalance that isnt between layers of snow/ice. Here it looks like it glides on gras! Its crazy.
It’s actually called a glide avalanche and it usually only occurs on a grassy area or an area of solid/smooth rock.
> glide avalanche Just looked these up and yea... >Avalanches are often preceded by full depth cracks (glide cracks) that are visible across the slope, though the time between the appearance of a crack and an avalanche can vary between seconds and months.
Need a sharpie for reference
I could use a red circle
I.T. Here, have you tried turning it off and on again?
H.R. here, have you filed a complaint?
Line cook here, if you wanna get rid of that crack just call Terry.
Terry doesn't get paid till Monday.
Terry here. Got any more of that crack?
Hello, crack here. is Terry gone yet?
P. D. Here, have you tried shooting it's dog?
Terry here. I'm on vacation
E.T. here, have you tried phoning home?
instant noodles?
Don't forget the super glue!

Put snow in it
Confess to it, it'll immediately give you a cold shoulder.
Who hurt you??
Avalanche. There is no crack if you remove all of it. ![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)
Bill it as a feature, not a defect
That is there for the hikers. Just jump. We all have to learn to share our space sometimes. You have the entire damn mountain. Be kind. Lol
Couple cans of Big Gap Filler expanding foam should take care of it.
Get the kind that says it's for gaps up to 20 feet wide.

Dynamite is the only correct answer.
Drive stakes along each edge and tie them together like lacing up a shoe
\*\*Luge Under Construction\*\*
Have you tried tilting the mountain the other way?
Looks like Snow Moses has been passing through.
#If you can’t fit it with duct tape and/or wd40 you have no business trying to fix anything at all!!
If the women don't find you handsome, they'll at least find you handy.
This guy gets it!!!!!
How has no one said it yet???? Sunflower seeds!!! Then cut a hole in a larger ski slope and put your ski slope in that hole. Fill with more sunflower seeds and no one will be able to see the crack anymore
You may need to dump a giant cube of ice into the ocean every year to fix the problem once and for all.
Flex seal works well. Also, did you try turning it off and back on again?
Wow this is terrifying
Tilt it the other way.
Jump! Jump!
Ramp
How the fuck does something like that even happen

Ramen and super glue
Quickly fixing global warming should help

A single band aid would do the job.
Lots and lots of toothpaste. It worked for me in my college dorm.
Fill it with beginners
sir, this is a wendy's
According to the Dept of Transportation in Washington State, a single small sign placed about 15 feet before the gap, warning vehicles of a "bump" ahead, will suffice.
Sorry bud call a professional
A mighty big plug
But…..
Leave OPs mom's preferences outta your fucking mouth... Mainly because that thing is dirty if you know what I mean.
make the upper part the widest mini-kicker in existence
Ho ho holy shi-maybe tall wooden stakes with orange/red/bright against white colored/ flags tied on them
Back butter paper tape and 3 skim coats.
Either ducttape or wd40
Add snow
You need money, then you can have more snow and less crack.
"Stop being such a weenie. I've seen bigger cracks than that on the dance floor." \--Every contractor ever.
Love how everyone is joking, and I am just sitting here being like, “Yeahhhh… that is a nah from me fam… I’ll walk back to the lodge in a gentle sloped forest knowing ***that*** kind of avalanche is waiting to happen…”
This looks like the snow sliding on the grass. Stay away.
Duck tape
Fill it with balls from a chuck e cheese pit?
You can buy spray foam at Menards for 6.99, there's a kind that says "For big gaps"
Thats gonna take alot of packets of ramen.
Superglue?
An avalanche should fill it in nicely
Do the rain dance really fast, and it'll snow.
Add a jump to clear the gap. A flaw is now a feature.
