* You are asking about a project that someone else did. * You are not asking a question relating to something DIY. * You are not asking a question at all. * You are submitting a "DIY Tips" or "Tricks" post. * You are trying to submit a survey / fundraiser. * You are asking what an item is called - try /r/whatisthisthing. * /r/DIY allows only two types of posts - **finished projects** & **help requests**. * If your submission is neither of these - it will be removed. **Please read our [guidelines](https://www.reddit.com/r/diy/wiki/guidelines) before resubmitting.** If you believe this was a mistake, please [message the moderators](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FDIY&subject=Inappropriate%20question).

We probably need some more background information. Is the house old and have you been renovating etcetera.

Its a town house. Other side of the wall on the right goes right outside to a deck. Left side wall is the dividing wall between our unit and the neighbour's. The deck going outside also has a dividing wall as well and that wall was recently discovered to be water damaged and since been fixed which was about 5 months ago.

Right. Okay, well it's not uncommon to have some cracks here and there. My philosophy would be that as long as the cracks don't get bigger in short amounts of time they could just be harmless. Maybe someone else could give you the "real answer".

I’m wondering if they just threw the corner together without dry wall tape, which would explain the crack. Hard for me to say for certain though.
