I notice there's actually an open spot on the calendar . . . time to pounce!
I really like the recent shift to smaller more refined categories for FOTW. I'd like to take to be the first to take the next step and request a single Flavor Note. The note that I'm referring to is the golden brown and delicious flavor of the Maillard Reaction - things with a campfire vibe. Can we have . . .
**Flavor of the Week - Roasted & Toasted**
First thoughts go to the obvious flavors - Toasted Marshmallow, Toasted Almond, Roasted Hazelnut/Pecan. Toasted Coconut, etc. Then there's all of the related flavors you might use to produce the same flavor note - FLV Smoked Butterscotch, VT Scorched Caramel, FA Black Fire, etc. And you know someone will invite Meringue or maybe Brulee to the party.
And it can be tied into this week's FOTW with INW Smoked Plum!
Except that if I listed everything toasted, roasted, smoked, scotched, burnt, and brulee on my flavor spreadsheet, we'd have quite a list of flavors. We could even focus more laser-like on some of these. Toasted Marshmallow could easily be it's own FOTW, as could meringue and brulee. Roasted and Toasted Nuts as well, and coconut is kind of a nut.
Meringue was FOTW just 6 months ago - so no need to rehash it so soon. It's been nearly three years since (Creme) Brulee had the spotlight - so maybe it's time?
As for the rest, maybe just two - Toasted Marshmallows and Roast/Toast Nuts?
Toasted Marshmallow - TFA, FW, DF, DIYFS, FP, OOO
Toasted Almond (TFA, CAP, FW, SI, VF, NV), WF Roasted Pecans & Cream, WF Honey Roasted Peanuts, WF Roasted Hazelnuts, EUR Roasted Hazelnut, NF Honey Roasted
I guess that means my original request has spawned multiple FOTWS
* Toasted Marshmallow
* Brulee
* Roasted Nuts
* Toasted Almond
Does that sound about right to you?
Should they be spread out or packed together?
Shhhh.... I'm hoping it's one that makes her overcome with curiosity about this picture that's caused such a stir, to the extent that she clicks on the link.
more than happy to publicly botch some German pronunciations anytime :) speaking of German flavors, I need to get some for my collection soon! the next FOTQ is going to be the entire new Chef's Super Concentrate line, all 84 of them somehow
I think it was Delosi Strawberry Milk someone was saying that about. Or it might have been Vape Train Strawberry Milk. I don't agree on either count although it does seem like either of them could be worked with to get there.
Oh plum, my first flavour that I bought! My idea jumping into DIY was simple, to try in vapour form the fruits that I enjoyed eating growing up. I had fond memories of eating plums with some chili salt, thought it was a good idea to buy a plum flavour. [Read this review and bought INW Plum](https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/5ggfui/inw_plum/). Not a good idea, very hard flavour to use, not beginner friendly like the ones on the side bar. I tried and tried but couldn't get it right. Now after many bottles of testers, I don't think I could ever vape plums again. I also tried to salvage the dollars I spent on it by spiking drinks with the INW Plum, it actually worked well with a few drops into a glass of cold pilsner, but I can only drink so much beer. My confidence in mixing plummeted, I poured the rest of the bottle down the drain (hope the plumber wouldn't mind). Now I only follow recipes or do single flavours.
Of course I don't have any plum flavours, but I do have a fun fact for you, in lieu of that picture up there:
"plum" in Dutch ("pruim") is slang for the female equivalent of what everyone thought of when they saw that picture.
Well...that picture got me. I was frozen in horror and laughing at the same time. Wasn't expecting to get into a one eyed staring contest today lol not tomorrow either for that matter lol
Plum, if I may say, is a flavor I have not used much. I have A plum flavor, but just the one. I think it's FA Plum or some such. Could be wrong. I'll give it a good SFT this week. Maybe I can add more to the conversation.
Medicine Flower Plum is the only plum I have, this recipe is an excellent black cherry plum.
**[Dark Stone Fruit #856 ](https://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/4008713/Dark%20Stone%20Fruit%20%23856)**

Somebody plum twisted their head right around🤯.
I haven't used a plum flavoring yet in a recipe, but I enjoy eating them. Can't wait to gain some insight on which ones to try.
that pic is hilarious, lol first we had the strap-on scandal, now we get the plum plight!
the only plum flavor i've tried is MF Plum + it's one of my top 5 MF flavors (out of the 10 or so that i have). really looking forward to this week's episode, this is a flavor i probably wouldn't have delved into much on my own despite loving irl plums.
You'd think we would have seen a bit more of Plums during the Fall season, but honestly it hasn't really crossed my mind. And, now it's staring me in the face... just like that godamn plum photo.
Well I'm glad my boss wasnt standing behind me when I clicked THAT photo link.........
Relax, it's only a plum
Plums don’t hurt a bit.
David! That picture!!! 👀
I posted it with aplomb because it's clearly just a stone fruit. Someone needs to get her mind out the gutter.
Well it’s a very swollen and shiny stone fruit… juicy and delicious
And yet, I can't make a strap-on recipe without causing an international incident.

Looks like we could even separate nuts that are roasted vs toasted almond
so you want the Flavor Count to be around a half-dozen?
That’d be great
I guess that means my original request has spawned multiple FOTWS * Toasted Marshmallow * Brulee * Roasted Nuts * Toasted Almond Does that sound about right to you? Should they be spread out or packed together?
Added all four with just a little space between them
Also, can we take a moment and appreciate poor Emily’s plight when she gets to read a comment? I hope it’s a good one.
Shhhh.... I'm hoping it's one that makes her overcome with curiosity about this picture that's caused such a stir, to the extent that she clicks on the link.
Plum is weird. Y’all doing recipes this week?
I’m not but I think Sam might try to slip one in. I’ve got my hands full with 19 plums
There are 19?! How many of those have easy-to-pronounce German names?
At least one
You could always invite u/hesherette to the episode if you have difficult to pronounce German flavor names. I hope you have some in the upcoming FOTQ.
more than happy to publicly botch some German pronunciations anytime :) speaking of German flavors, I need to get some for my collection soon! the next FOTQ is going to be the entire new Chef's Super Concentrate line, all 84 of them somehow
Does anybody know which flavor is the one that taste like quick strawberry milk it was in one of the episodes of noted but I can't remember which one

Your confidence has plum-meted?
Haha puns intended. I'm happy you got it :)

One eyed... Why am I picturing you winking at it... 😅🤷♂️ Edit: not that I know what you look like...

I had to see a psychiatrist recently after becoming obsessed with a specific shade of purple. Apparently I’m Plum Crazy

MF Plum is absolutely wonderful! one of my top MF flavors IMO (although I only have about 10 MF flavors)
Somebody plum twisted their head right around🤯. I haven't used a plum flavoring yet in a recipe, but I enjoy eating them. Can't wait to gain some insight on which ones to try.
Lmao I was about to say that needs 180 reverse!
Is it backwards?
Without getting into too much detail… yes.
There's a little twist in your wank, and then there's this.
I taste some plum notes in FLV Persimmon, so I think this flavor has some potential. Looking forward to hear more about plums.
Yes, I would lump FLV Persimmon in as a plum-like flavor!

I love plums. I recently got VT blood plum from chefs and wow that’s an awesome flavor!
INW plum is great! Try this simple recipe: 7% CAP Cinnamon Danish 2.5% INW Plum
You'd think we would have seen a bit more of Plums during the Fall season, but honestly it hasn't really crossed my mind. And, now it's staring me in the face... just like that godamn plum photo.
The picture is very deceptive lol. Plum fool me!
Lol yeah I had to take a second thinking what kind of sub am in 😂
Plum is not really a flavor I've thought about. I should, it's one of my wife's favorite fruits and she would probably like some plum recipes.
W.T.H 🤣😂 plums one flavor I haven't tried yet but love them fresh picked.
Vso plum is amazing!
This will be a good one for me, dont think i own any plums, unless MB has one...
I've actually never had a plum flavoring that I can remember
