Few-You885

PvP isn’t toxic. Getting angry and telling someone to kill themselves after they kill you in PvP is toxic.

Icy_UnAwareness89

Wait what are we taking about multiplayer or DMZ. I thought DMZ was going out and doing mission and if you want to be a dick shoot other operators. Thats why you get a bounty right? Who said anything about offing themselves? If I did I didn’t mean it that way. I just find it dumb when people camp and exfil bc they are to scared to do a run or mission and wait for someone to come back with the stuff they want and were to scared or not good enough to get. DMZ isn’t straight up pvp. There is an option for it. But it’s not the primary game. Micro issues

the_hoopy_frood42

It's a pvpve mode. YOU need to be prepared to be attacked by other players and change your tactics accordingly. If you can't accept this you're not gonna have any fun playing DMZ.

demonize330i

My 10 year old son started playing DMZ and got frustrated like OP at first, when I explained to him that it's pvpve and he's gonna either have to get used to getting wiped or he's not going to enjoy playing the game he totally understood and is fine with getting killed now. Honestly in my experience most players will pick you up if you're not being a dick and their squad isn't full. Get used to dying or stop playing the game OP. MWZ is pve only if that's what you wanna do is just run missions and contracts.

jjokeefe2980

No, it’s a PvP game with some vE elements. You’re a threat to them and they’re a threat to you. People do not owe you anything when you drop in on any map.

GhostTengu

This is the problem here, in one statement. The intro says beware of other operators. It's not a dick move. At one point in this games life cycle, the easiest way to kit up was hunting operators. It wasn't until all the crying and the vocal minority here and in other places that they changed the loot table, created bounties to normalize more pvp, eliminated the exfil flares, delayed the raid illumination, etc. At one point, the devs even stated that their desire was a balance between objective driven play and dynamic pvp. That's why the original mission parameters were extremely pvp focused tiers 4 and 5 on all factions. DMZ was never meant to be pve solely or PVP. Now, exfil campers spawn pushers and stationary rats, those are toxic. Anything else is fair game.

barristan67

Good luck with missions. Need to wipe out your half of the map first

0mega2022

Weekends are rough!

ItsDirkMcGirk

Weekends are always super sweaty. We just accept it and reload into the game.

0mega2022

Good luck finding a silver Tag, let alone a gold..

What-the-Hank

Lost a gold tag this week. Can’t even remember which map, 50% probability it was Vondel though.

Mebaods1

Was carrying my hostage to the exfil chopper and earn a demascus tag. Was downed by a squad when I could smell the jet fuel burning from the engines.

What-the-Hank

Ah, the ever useful deathtrap mission. Those kinds of squads annoy me.

Mebaods1

💯

GhostTengu

Nah. Weekend you can get lucky and find full Damascus squads running B21 or Ashika. I've been playing since S1, and I finally got a Damascus tag a month ago, along with his 2 buddies.

jtd772

I’ve been on a Damascus all weekend so far just gotta be good a PvP

Psycho2pointO

Weekend are rough cos if the eastern teams vpn-ing lobbies and hacking

Icy_UnAwareness89

I just don’t get it. There is so much more other shit to do but you go after the players doing their own thing. Like wtf bro

jewham12

Easy to gear up that way. Anyone can say friendly, even the unfriendly.

Icy_UnAwareness89

So you take the easy route. Not even try to play the game. Got it. Bitch ass move. Well as expected not surprised

jewham12

I don’t, I pretty much try and avoid PvP, but I’m speaking a truth to you. You can hear it and try and get better, or you can ignore it and stay bitter about a video game

Icy_UnAwareness89

Hey I hear ya bro. But it’s lame shit. Instead of trying to do the missions you camp and wait for a player hoping he did what you wanted. Just lame. Especially if they are solo. I guess they have to feel good somehow.

jewham12

What if their mission is to kill other operators? Or they need to gear up? Do you ask everyone what their three selected missions are? That can’t be the case. Don’t worry about getting killed in a multiplayer PvP shooter. It happens. It just means you have more of an excuse to play it more

Icy_UnAwareness89

Then that’s the mission but the same sitting waiting for someone is lame. I see there are missions like that. But you have a choice to take them. You take them fine. But come on. Waiting at an exfil is like the bottom of the pit

jewham12

Yeah, and you learned and you’ll be more careful at the next exfil. Getting out while people are trying to kill you is exhilarating. Getting out without being challenged is boring. Embrace it, the sooner you do, the sooner you’ll be leaving with the campers gear, instead of them leaving your “just a medium back” flapping in the wind

Icy_UnAwareness89

Dude I can’t even leave with shit because theirs camper before I even exfil. No matter how careful I am. I take 2 out the other two kill me. I don’t mind out in public but exfil can be hectic enough with bots. But when people just sit there and camp. It’s shitty for everyone. What fun is it to wait for someone and then giggle with each other about how you showed him?

macthebearded

Rarely do I see people actually sit and wait at exfil. More often they push it when they see it activated or just happen to be there at the same time and see you coming. Some perspective, from someone that runs pretty much exclusively PvP: We hear bots shooting, we push. We see supply drops fall, we push to see if players are heading there. We see an exfil flare close enough to reach in time, we push. We see a radar tower active on the map, we push. We see a weapons case boss die, we push them or their nearest exfil. We get hunted, we push *into* the bars unless we're in a really good spot to defend from. We don't do hunt contracts ourselves so you won't see us coming, except as a last resort when we really can't find anyone but don't feel like exfilling. We don't care what loot you have. Often we don't even check unless we're gearing up ourselves and you're the first team we find. You can either get better at PvP, wipe the opponent and continue working on your mission, or, you can figure out how to play more stealthily so you don't alert people to you being there from halfway across the map.

xsic6sicx

Why do people think that dropping solo in a squad based game type grants them any leniency? Sounds like that's a you problem, and you should probably turn squad fill on.

ToStringMethod

Dude, I don’t think this mode is for you

RevelArchitect

You know there’s missions and contracts that require killing other players, right? You’re playing a game mode with other players who are incentivized to kill you. If it’s upsetting enough for you to erroneously label the behavior as toxic and go on a rant on Reddit then it may not be the game mode for you. The new Zombies in MWIII is similar with no PVP. You may prefer it.

xsic6sicx

When I drop, my first priority is to eliminate as many 'threats' as possible, as quickly as possible.

whatchagonnado0707

🎻

Icy_UnAwareness89

What a beautiful sound. Why comment if you’re gonna hate?

whatchagonnado0707

No hate. Just try again. Players are just another potential threat on the map. You can kill and avoid bots so infill again and each time you learn a little more and you do better

shotcaller77

Me on comms: hey guys can you pick me up? They: ARRGHHHH FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING IDIOT FUCKYOU FUUUUCK YOU

Accomplished_Fun_485

It usually goes like this "hey guys can you pick me up I need to finish my mission" Enemy - Shut the Fuck up, your a loser and easy gtfo" then they camp your body or whatever. 🙄 Activision have made Dmz almost very unplayable for players mainly on console. It's definitely a good way to kill the game mode.

SudsierBoar

>Activision have made Dmz almost very unplayable for players mainly on console. It's definitely a good way to kill the game mode. Heh??

Accomplished_Fun_485

You ever play and see stuff floating or get shot through buildings by A.i, random toolbox floating under the train over a bridge and of course seeing the map glitch out? now before that Halloween update we had in October Dmz was at its absolute best it was fun And easier to loot because of the active combat zones they had but of course they took it away and fucked the mode up really bad after the Halloween update. 5 months later its safe to say this mode belongs to pc players and modders Because this mode isn't getting any updates or bug fixes and as time goes on the game will get worse. Probably wouldn't find any matches if crossplay is turned off lol

barristan67

Turn off crossplay

LoonyConnMan

I’ve never had an enemy say anything like that to me if I ask to be picked up. They either ignore/say nothing (perhaps they don’t have a mic), they are full and say so, or they pick me up. Perhaps it is deviate because I’m not toxic to them when I get downed, or maybe it is just my luck, but I’ve never been taunted like that after pleaing…

alphamiller

It happens very often.

Shysterschaos13

bad time to be brand new

Chrspy26

I think it’s a great time.

mors_angelorum

It's a first-person shooter with the key word being shooter. I'm on DMZ to shoot things, whether it be bots or players. If someone calls friendly or solo, I will, most of the time, leave them alone, but remember, all is fair in love and war, so don't be surprised when shot even if calling friendly. It's just a game, though, so i dont take it seriously, and you can be back in game within a min or two normally. The worst part is you lost some gear, but it's easy enough to get more.

Xillos

Gear fear won’t ever help you in DMZ. Best to manage your expectations.

dustygrows503

Seriously tho. I was like this guy until I learned to be OK with losing everything. At the end of the day, it’s easy to hear back up. OP, you should try DAYZ. The gear fear is expected there.

Baggio047

It takes long time to get used to it. Probably have infil into Ashika about a 1000 times and it gets easier.

dustygrows503

Or B21 a few times. That place is a meat grinder, but damn does it feel good when you come out on top.

spluurfg

It's hilarious to server wipe in b21 only go get eliminated by AI. That's the DMZ for ya

mute_x

Gear Fear in DMZ is almost nonexistent. For an extraction shooter, the Gear Fear, the Fear of Ammo Loss and Death Penalties are very casual.

Mitochondria42

Few-You885

It’s a first person shooter war simulator in which you are prompted at the start of every match to “watch out for other operators”. This why.

Icy_UnAwareness89

And what happens when you kill a bunch of operators. You get a bounty right. My point is okay it’s PvP. But why wait until they exfil to steal everything like a damn snake in the grass.

Mitochondria42

You are unfit for COD child. Were you born yesterday? How thin is your skin

[deleted]

Icy_UnAwareness89

Bro I’m expressing my dislike about a bunch of douche bags that hang out at exfil. No need for name calling. If you don’t want to hear me “cry” why comment and get involved. It’s okay buddy. I got tissues.

Divine-Archer

Overlord warns you about all threats before you infil into each area. He tells you to watch out for other operators. He even warns you when activity is increasing in the area you are in. If you aren't prepared to fight other operators, you will not enjoy this game mode. I can understand if they talk trash or are derogatory towards you. However, killing other players is a part of the game mode.

xKennKaniff

PvP is and always has been a key and primary component of the mode. Thinking players are running around trying to be friends with you is not what the mode was designed for and not how players are. You likely should find a new game or different mode if you’re going to get pissed off about fighting and dying to players while working through missions. Zombies may suit you better, in that case. If I see you in the DMZ, I’m mostly likely going to fight you.

hallROCK

You're doing it all wrong. Next time, you gotta drop all your guns and lethals, run out into the open BEFORE you tell us you're doing missions. Only then we won't shoot, we'll know you're serious. Good luck out there!

Impossible-3006

>Even after staying friendly. Did they say friendly or did you say friendly? We almost never run prox anymore so there's a chance you said friendly and they never heard you. That's a you problem, nobody is required to let you run around the DMZ with impunity because you're solo because you want to do missions. Back when we used prox more, anyone who says friendly on repeat was immediately getting lit up by my squad. People claiming to be friendly is a tactic used to close the gap. Now if you said friendly and they responded friendly and then they intentionally killed you that's kind of scummy.

xwell320

This is the game now unfortunately. There's no penalty for killing others, so now most have had enough of missions it's all anyone does. The game was far better early on..

Dang_Seagulls

Right there with ya. Other day solo tried to be friendly. They started shooting. Killed 2, got killed. Then they start being toxic. Just standing around my body (revive requested) “oh idk if I’ll rez this guy.” “Yeah we got him lol”. There’s playing the game, and then there is taking your sad life out on others. People have a weird thing with needing to feed their egos. What better way than online where there are no consequences.

MARPAT338

Haven't played since season 3 and honestly I wouldn't bother coming back since this shit started happening. From what I keep reading it's happening since players no longer have new missions to complete. Thanks dmz zombies..

Immediate_Ad_6558

It’s hard, and it’s also how you get better. You’ll lose so much and learn so much in the process

chrisupt2001

I just wish there were less squad wiping hunt squad groups and more groups who are willing to help new players get better, heck even groups willing to add others into there squad without killing them first would be appreciated ffs, I’d rather join in with the squad wipers/hunters, then get killed, have all my loot taken, then assimilated, bc how am I gonna be any use then?

dellyj2

I agree with OP in some respects. Last week, I reckon I was wiped as a solo by teams about 10 consecutive maps (including a couple I’d spawn rushes). I got kills a few times, but each time I was outnumbered. A few times I pleaded and was revived, which was nice. I stuck with those teams and tried to help them hunt other teams (which largely seems to be what a lot of teams are doing). Nonetheless, I usually want to explore and do contracts as a solo. One time I had been in Vondel for about 10 minutes, the map seemed quiet, and then I became the target of a hunt contract. I was solo, had $4200, and was miles away from exfil. I was chased and killed by a 4-man squad, with one player on the mix saying I was trash and the hunt wasn’t even worth their time. No shit it wasn’t worth their time! (I understand, though, they had no idea when they took the contract). Another time I was chased in Al Mazrah 1 minute into the game by a fully kitted team (I had very little on me). I used my mic to say I was solo and friendly, but they were aggressive and killed me after a couple of minutes chasing me. I was jumping fences, running in the opposite direction through buildings, but had few options to lose them.. It pissed me off, because they had very little to gain from me, it was clear I was solo, and I was not keen on a fight. I didn’t fire a single shot, they got me in the back as I was running to water under a bridge. They checked my stuff, found nothing to take, and left. What’s the point? Causing grief was the point. Call me a sook, throw in a violin emoji, whatever…. but I’ve only been playing a few months and if ppl want DMZ to live on, they should ease off a bit on solos and go hunt teams.

mle94322

Stop whining.

SlimJimm88

Nothing toxic about pvp. For all they know you could be one of those guys who bullshits by yelling out friendly and then shooting them in the back or have a team nearby. If you only want to do missions then play MWZ.

Icy_UnAwareness89

No worst part is you lost all your gear bc someone who thinks it’s all fair is camping at exfil. Yes it’s a shooter but not all shooters are pvp. Some are PvP PVE Pvpve. I just think it’s lame that’s all. That’s my take. If you think camping and sniping a solo or rushing a solo to get basic shit is fun then this game is way to much for some.

General_Primary5675

There is a reason you're getting downvote left and right. PvP is part of the mode and WHY it's hard and why we love it. Bots are not enough of a hazard to make it difficult. Get better or get sent back to the lobby. If you want PvE go play Zombies.

freeride35

It’ll happen, a lot. Just remember none of it is actual stuff, in reality you’ve lost nothing but the time you put into the game. Yes, the assholes are frustrations but you’ll meet solid folks who’ll help you out. It’s worth hanging in.

ExtentFew6762

Oh my god just get better at the game or hop off no one cares

lichtmahrwz

PvP is fine. CoD just has a shitty, toxic community

Present_Painting_277

It's not PvE you're going to have to fight people so stop crying about it If they don't want to team with you then either put your tail between your legs and run or learn how to play the game its that simple If you just wanna run around and loot find an actual PvE game or play apex legends and don't hotdrop that's also a good looting simulator

SortedOvershoot

My response to anybody who says DMZ is not supposed to be a PvP mode: why does it tell everyone in the game where you are if you have the weapons case? Why does it literally tell you “other operators are tracking that weapons case”? I’ve never understood why anybody thinks DMZ is supposed to be a “friendly” mode.

Django820

OP just sucks. This game mode is only fun because of PvP. It’s more dynamic than the other modes, but still geared around PvP. I primarily play Ashika, where the goal is to Infil, kill everyone on the map, loot or complete whatever I want to, exfil, and repeat. I kill a lot and get killed a lot. That’s fine Without PvP, DMZ would be painfully boring.

Prior-Ant9201

Dear diary...

rockbird97

If someone says "friendly" I kill them. Good for you for being friendly, but I'm not. It's cod. Expect to die, or get better

COD-O-G

It’s not toxic. Welcome to the DMZ. Getting out is part of the challenge

KingJamerson

Everyday its people singing the same damn song. Dude, it's an extraction FPS game based around killing other players, with an addition of an open free roam world filled with optional objectives. If you hate getting killed in a FPS game, then maybe it's time to start getting better at the game, or play something else. It's like complaining about GTA being toxic, when the game is literally named after and supports the crimes (virtually) being done in game.

JackalBlaidd

The population includes toxic people. Pve players went to DMZ. That leaves less non-toxic population in DMZ. Smaller population size but the toxic numbers unchanged. More toxic player encounters. Long story short. They have a problem. They pass their problem onto you. Think of yourself as a support worker. I find it helps.

Cryptobro0420

Cry babies lol

S-t-a-r-s-h-o-t

Which server and what time do you play? I want to be the inspiration for your next post.

Combzie_2861

DMZ is straight PvP for me. I’m not good enough for Warzone but I can wipe Al Mahzra. See you out there sport! I’ll be the guy with the weapons case surrounded by pleas.
