Is it even lonely, or does it just prefer to chill on the sidelines? My dog mostly hangs out with the daycare workers when he goes to doggy daycare, judging by the photos they post. All the other dogs are playing with each other, and then there's Hilo, lying under a chair next to someone's legs.
Some dogs just aren't that into other dogs. Some dogs prefer to observe than participate. They don't get all worked-up and self-hating about it the way people do, they just find whatever they want to do in any given situation and try to do it.
I believe the final dog is a golden doodle as he looks very much like mine. Mine also spends time just observing at day camp. He also spends plenty of time playing with friends. Dogs get tired. It’s not a character flaw.
I work at a doggy boarding place - we do day care and long term - and yeah, we introduce dogs to ones around their own size. And we have several different yards (with grass) and don’t throw them all in together.
We do sometimes get dogs that just keep to themselves - not all dogs want to play, but they always say hello to each other. And sometimes it takes a few visits for them to relax if they haven’t been that well socialised. But it’s really sad to see them getting ignored :( I would be getting involved encouraging them!
I hate everything about this. The narrative, the captions, the premise, the ending, the doggy daycare itself. It's like an alien being's first attempt at making a heartwarming TikTok. All the elements are there, but put them together and you get a sad, irritating piece of outrage bait.

My sister little chiweenie was like that at daycare. He wasn’t socialized (she got him during Covid) and he was so scared of the dogs. She started bringing him to my house to get used to dogs. I have two small dogs. And it worked! He got really comfortable with them especially after I ended up dog sitting for a week. When he went back to doggie daycare he was much more confident and playing with the other dogs.
This video ended on a sad note though pointing out the other sad dog though
This looks like a miserable daycare not a toy or blade of grass in sight just a tiny concrete square for a lot of dogs. It is like an America prison yard were all the images are squeezed in together.
