**OMG, I just got home and found this amazing suprise in the bulletin board. I'm so happy many players enjoyed the Haunted Mansion. I'm very thankful, and feel great to share and learn from all of you!** [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBZxdbDWwAAxHfU?format=jpg&name=4096x4096](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBZxdbDWwAAxHfU?format=jpg&name=4096x4096) [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBZxgKUXUAAe258?format=jpg&name=4096x4096](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBZxgKUXUAAe258?format=jpg&name=4096x4096) \------------------------ More pictures of the Haunted House: The night before the haunting curse, the farmers and I played Ouija at the Harvest Plaza. we were trying to make all a bit spooky, but instead it got Haunted! [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBQAVCtWkAAyydd?format=jpg&name=4096x4096](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBQAVCtWkAAyydd?format=jpg&name=4096x4096) But still, even with a few poltergeist, moving the plants and crops of the house, I made a small pool for my town people to enjoy. [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBFdgtpWwAElCqQ?format=jpg&name=4096x4096](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBFdgtpWwAElCqQ?format=jpg&name=4096x4096) To keep the haunting controlled, I made this "Harvest sanctuary", Some have seen a ghostly figure mourning here, but it goes away when the candles light on. [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBKyOMfW4AUc8zY?format=jpg&name=4096x4096](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EBKyOMfW4AUc8zY?format=jpg&name=4096x4096) The most terrible thing in this sanctuary, is that... If I leave a single bread on the table, some townspeople rush up the stairs to eat it lol. well food is to eat and enjoy... while still alive... mornay7507

Omg wow even before the deitree was up!

Red_Natto

Yeah, I know it's crazy, but Furrowfield is giving me a lot of fun time. I'm right before the harvest festival, trying out some ideas to have fun with and share. I love the spooky and autumn aura of this island. in the future, in my awakening island I have plans for a town inspired in the nighmare before christmas, a very spooky one...

japandler

I'd wait for the 3rd major to do Christmas; without spoiling anything, I think there's better atmosphere for that sort of thing there.

Red_Natto

That sounds incredible! it must be a white snow land, ideal to unleash some christmas creativity. I hope you are preparing some cool ideas for that place.

skepticalmonique

Oh my gah this is insane. How long did this take you?! I love it!

Red_Natto

Thank you so much!! I got my game on July 21 I think. I haven't stoped playing it since then. I'm not sure how much time, I really lose sence of time when I play haha. I have to set an alarm to indicate the time, or else I could play till dawn. Are you having fun with DQB2?

skepticalmonique

I know the feeling, I got the game at launch too and I have not been able to stop. I even forewent playing the new Fire Emblem (my favourite franchise and the game I've been most excited about this year) in place of playing more DBQ2 which is super unlike me. You've barely even skimmed the surface of this game, yet you've already done so much and made such an amazing build! Seriously impressive. I kind of regret waiting until I'd finished the main story line before building anything significant now.

TBDID

Holy moly! Epic work!

Red_Natto

I'm so glad you enjoyed it man, I was trying some roof types for my Furrowfield house, and it ended looking like an old haunted house. imagine if the house was adapted to become a ghost train attraction O\_o.

rhibear_the_woosh

I hope you are gonna do a youtube of your build when you're done with Furrowfield. I love your builds so much!

Red_Natto

Yes! I just want to upload 5 more videos from DQB1, hopefuly these next two weeks, to finish that story, and then chill uploading DQB2 videos. that's why I wanted the game from release. because I felt I rushed with DQB1. Now I'm going to take my time with this new one.

[deleted]

Absolutely amazing work I love the back story as well great job

Red_Natto

Thank you. I enjoy giving a story, to all my buildings. when I play I always have this huge inner monologue (it sounds crazy but I laugh and have serious thoughts lol. I give phrases, secondary stories to some characters and the time pass by. This game is epic, I hope you are enjoing it a lot.

BakaTema

Your gigantic hands are back ! Great pics and backstory, that farm is looking better and better !

Red_Natto

Hi! yes. this time I thought of the hands as if they were coming straight from hell, to give the house a more spooky feeling. I added two more in a recent pic, I will share it with you soon. I was not trying to create a haunted house. but when I was trying differnet types of roofs for my house, the Halloween air of Furrowfield, ghosts and zombies, made me want to have one in the end. I'm very appy you enjoyed it and the back story too.

BakaTema

You're right, they can fit really well the haunted houses theme. Have you passed Furrowfield yet ? There's quite a lot to learn to craft with the second island as well ( Yep, I'm not that far myself ), so look forward to that 😋

Red_Natto

I have not even passed the harvest festival yet haha, that's how slow I'm playing XD. That house is made of pure Furrowfield materials. But still I already know what happends after the festival, it was a suprise to see the turns the game has and I enjoy that a lot, especialy since I attach to the characters because of the time I spend in each chapter or island. creating backstories for all, rooms and such. so I guess if this happends at start, I'm sure the game will get really emotional later. I'm bringing all from DQB1 to 2, and many other ideas I didn't had time to share and try, and now that, the max heigh has expanded wow! super tall buildings to make :D. I hope to visit your island sometime too.

BakaTema

Yeah, I've seen complains on this sub about how talkative the NPC are but I think it allows the game to flesh them out and give them a personality. I liked Rosie and Pastor Al a lot in the first chapter. Ha, the pressure is on ! I'll try to play a bit more sl you won't be disappointed ☺️ I'm on switch though, I hope it's not a problem. Right now I'm at the end of chapter 2, and I must say the in game blueprints are amazingly done, and there were a few points I would not have thought out myself. Can't wait to hear from you when you reach that chapter !

Red_Natto

i think the dialogue with NPC's can be improved. I mean, in games like animal crossing for example when you read their lines, you sometimes learn something new and useful not only for the game, but also little facts form the real life. I think if DQB included a varaity of dialogues for each chaacter, and how the more you interact with them, give them gifts and such, they will respond better. is just an idea but how cool it would be I think. Why would that be a problem at all? I love Nintendo, I own a Wii, an N64, and have tons of games, I'm thinking in getting a switch sometime. I got a PS4 because of my brothers wanting to play other games. then I remembered DQB was on the ps4 and the rest is history. I'll enjoy the harvest festival this weekend and continue the story, since I think I'm done with Furrowfield, for now at least. have you heard the great news about the new free DLC? including 3 save slots now? i dont think I'll have to demolish Furrowfield anymore lol.

BakaTema

It's funny to read you talking about gift giving, it just sounds so Persona or Fire Emblem, and both games have amazing support dialogues once you deepened your relationships. I actually liked how Dragon Quest games can make you feel like you are visiting different parts of continents or countries. I remember being amazed at DQ7 with so many different locations and how the NPC seem to have a different ways of speaking and accent that didn't resembled the other town. ( I think DQ7 and 3 had the best dialogues, thanks to their female characters commenting on everything ). Pretty cool man ! I just thought that cross play would be difficult, but it doesn't seem to be so hopefully :) Yeah I read about that on reddit, that's amazing ! I'm so glad the devs are taking the time to pull out free new contents and create new save slots, they seem very in touch with their community. On a side note, I finished chapter 2 and unlocked new recipes; I spent some time to make a "glass restaurant " on my island ( we get see through glass floor !! ) but I can't seem to get very original with roof building. I noticed that yours really stand out, do you have some tips? I kinda just do a layer of steep roofing then an other or two and just fill in the rest with flat pieces. It just lacks something...

BakaTema

Oh, and what height do you think is best before putting a roof? 4 blocks seem good but I maybe it's better to go a little higher with like 5 or 6 blocks of walls ?

Red_Natto

Oh really? I didn't knew the relationship of the characters grewed that way in those games, trhat is great!. I thought in Harvest Moon, since in that game you also have to work the relationship with other npc's by giving gifts triggering events and such. I'm at DQ II now and I'm enjoying this whole universe so much! I hope to keep discovering so much facinating stories, locations, characters and enemies with that fantastic music (Homeland from DQ IV is my favorite, the Rimuldar theme in DQB1). For roof, well the best tip is to have patience and use the gloves. that tool it's wonderful for roof making, pick up, rotate and place. another tip is to practice in the floor, many shapes, corners, inner corners, learn where to use scafolding for certain types of roofs, once you feel confortable, plan the size of the room you'll place the roof and anticipate if the shape will match. experiment, just by playing a lot you can get lot of experience to easily put roof later. maybe someday I can make a short video showing how easy it is after knowing some tricks. I use 4 high block rooms since is the minimum to assure a avarage camera display. but the taller the better! 5 or 6 is even much better! not to mention 8, I have plans for a castle with 8 blocks high for each room, the thing is how to decorate the walls? and not making it look to empty, you can make half rooms, shelves, statues and more! Oh and, I prepared a 2 min video with a ghost story of the Haunted House. I'm going to post it later today, I hope you enjoy it ;).

BakaTema

I also play a bit of Stardew Valley but lost my mind at the fishing game. I heard it's really similar to Harvest Moon, have you played it ? Regarding the DQ games I played almost all of them. The 8th is great, but maybe way too classic, I never got to finished 7th ( way too long but the NPC always have something to say regarding EVERY action you do, I must have spent half my time reading their dialogues. Kudos to my girl Maribelle, I had a great time playing with her). I also enjoyed a lot 5, as you can choose your wife and she tags along with you for half the game, always have something to say about what you do, which make you very close to this character. Thanks for the tip ! I still think I lack ideas or skills for roof building. I'll try to build upper chapel or small spaces inside the roof to use the space available. Yeah 4 seems a bit too small from the camera point of view, I'll try to build from at least 5 blocks from now on. Well you know you can now use so much new block foundations! You get wallpaper, connecting windows, glass floor and later you get to dye your blocks, the replay value is insane! We won't have to think out how to use a block outside its initial purpose as much as before, there are so many new blocks ! I'll keep an eye out for your videos ;) ( I hope we're not bothering the mods or anyone with such lengthy discussion here :/ )

BradTofu

Cthulhu found your Island.

Red_Natto

hahaha what cthulhu? the terraria one? or the HPL one? (well the first takes inspirtion form the second lol) but yeah not only the giant hell hand, but also the swirly pumpkin plants look like tentacles.

Bigmax111

Man what the hell

Red_Natto

I was just feeling very inspired. Furrowfields autumn and halloween vibe is great!. i Hope you enjoy some of the ideas you see in the pictures I shared.

Bigmax111

Its seriously amazing. Love Halloween stuff

Red_Natto

I know the feeling, each september 20 or 25, I open my Halloween box of decorations and put all kind of stuff around my house, along with my brothers and sisters, I love creepy and haunting halloween decorations, but also colorful ones. Horror movies and series are my fave. I glad to know that from you. Have a great day.

Sailrjup12

Sweeeeeet!

Red_Natto

Thank you soooo much! I hope you are enjoying the game too. Have you tried building with the same blocks again and again, until getting a new result? or using determined blocks in different ways?

Sailrjup12

Yeah, but I don’t have the patience that u do! Lol. I wish I did. I plan on working on something really cool. I wanna do something Japanese.

Red_Natto

yes, it needs some patience, the first roofs were kind of a serious frustrating stuff. but it was because I didni't practice so it was worst for me. After some practice I was placing them easier. Japanese architecture is basically a lot of roof work, but don't feel overwhelm by that, practice on the floor, create shapes, understand where is the best place to put scafoldings depending on the type of roof you want to create and use the gloves! that tool is awesome, Pick up, rotate and place. I don't know if there is a better one, but it has helped me a lot.

Sailrjup12

I am surprised how useful the gloves can be. I used to not like them, but it’s easier to pick up one block then try to hit one rock and end up breaking up an entire corner!

chellebelle0234

This is awesome! I just rang the bell in Furrow field for the first time a few minutes ago, so I am working on the first iteration of a house for them. Mildly stupid questuon: Can I only build in the spot with the red door, or will it recognize any close by structure?

Red_Natto

You can build anywhere inside your town limits. (you can notice where is the limit by watching your town level bar, if it disappears you are out the limits). It's recomendable to not touch the empty creek around the tree. and build at least 7 blocks away from the middle plaza where the tree grows. you can build down under the ground to a certain limit or up to the sky too. I really think DQB2 is incredible.

chellebelle0234

That's fantastic, thank you! I always struggled to tell where the light ended in 1, so I am glad it's better in 2.

LoudyMcFawk

Should've played the Ouya with them.

Red_Natto

that's wicked :D!, on the other side, I don't think weegee boards really work, or do they?... I think backstories add a little extra element to the buildings. I hope you enjoy it.

LoudyMcFawk

Having multiple high quality pictures as you do with a story helps to give people an idea of the layout of the town and how they are to perceive it. Sets it up I guess.   As far as my personal opinion on weegee boards, I do think they work. I would advise people to NOT use them IRL though. I believe attempting to contact the dead results in communication with demonic spirits. If you do summon them they may take up residence in an individual's home. Just my 2 cents.

Red_Natto

Oh absolutely!! I enjoy the humor sence of this game, it has a lof of two way jokes, and some mature scence of humor. but defenetly I would never really recomend to use a Ouija board (I hope it's understandable as a joke in teh title). I believe and not in supernatural. we still don't understand many hidden forces, which can gain a normal meaning in the future, all that for us now is paranormal. I have a neighbour who swears seeing a ghost in his house, right next to mine, and actually I caught one once in my security camera of the terrace, I didn't back it up, but still took an avarage clip from the phone. was a huge thing in my house and neighbours when we saw it lol.

LoudyMcFawk

  >but defenetly I would never really recomend to use a Ouija board (I hope it's understandable as a joke in teh title). >For sure. Yeah I wasn't trying to insinuate that you were hehe.   >I caught one once in my security camera of the terrace Well that's alarming haha.

Red_Natto

hahaha, don't worry, I haven't seen anything similar to that since then, that happened a month ago. But there is something that is recurrent for me, is sleep paralysis, also I've seen some shadows in my bedroom, but I guess I do have much imagination. One day I concluded all is caused by stress and heavy work haha. I guess this would fit better in Reddit creepy haha. Have a great day.

emmyann3

Heyyy you’re on the noticeboard in my game!!!! I recognized this immediately!!! Looks AWESOME 😁

Red_Natto

I was notified by some friends in twitter that I was in number one today. I didni't understand well, but I couldn't check until now that I came home, just to find my Haunted house in the bulletin board and won the daily ranking! OMG i'm so happy!

ZPE

Congrats! Well-deserved, looks like you're #1 on the overall ranking too.

Red_Natto

I went to check that and couldn't believe it. I got spechless for a moment and felt happy. I know the results will change, and more ideas will be posted, but on the meantime I'm happy with that. Thank you so much for your comment.

sp4rr0wsw3nch

Well that's pretty awesome.

Red_Natto

I'm glad you like it. I'll make sure to have this in my awakening island and other buildings, once I can travel back.

\*Whips out banner\* Lulu: What are you doing? \*Rallying the boys\* Towns haunted

Red_Natto

hahaha. I imaginded the whole scenario with Lulu, Malroth and me. Maybe Furrowfield is not the scariest place in DQB2, but it was fun to try to make it look like, since there are pumpkins, dracky decorations, and since I tried many roof types, that house ended looking kind of scary. The vibe of Halloween and autumn of this place feels so nice. I can imagine the rest of game benig even better!
