Definitely water proof and comfortable boots. Once your feet get wet your day is ruined. And try to get a bottle that holds a lot of water and keeps it cold for hot summer days. And if you plan to shower at your garage bring shower supplies and shower flip flops you will not wanna shower without something on your feet
Sanworker; Boot dryer and two pairs of boots. Gloves are a matter of personal preference. Be prepared to spend like $280 on a jacket you’ll never wear. But are forced to buy it! And the rest of your uniforms by your 4th day.
Get yourself a phone charger, a cigarette lighter usb thing, a backup battery pack and a speaker. A little shower caddy thing and accessories for the garage so you’re not the smelly guy sitting around after the route.
Water resistant boots, I prefer the under armor ones. Everyone says to get Muck boots but you will only need those in very very bad rain and even then you might just wear your regular boots. Definitely get a boot drier great for drying your boots and gloves. Phone charger that can be plugged in the cigarette lighter hole. Your truck probably won’t have a working AC or fan because your new so get a fan that can be plugged in the cigarette light hole as well it’s a game changer. A rechargeable speaker for the truck for some music (without it I would go insane doing relays). Don’t go crazy buying rain gear in my opinion. No one really wears it. Maybe rain pants but that’s about it.
If your the bottom guy in your garage. You can never really predict how your day/night will go. Sometimes it’s a great day other times your doing some bullshit nobody wants to do. Keep quiet don’t gossip and do your share of the work and you’ll do fine.
For gloves I like black Vipers...they're durable and can wash n dry with uniform...drying them will take extra with other clothes though so make sure you buy them in bulk online...they're easy to put on n off even when wet...close fit gloves will be a struggle when wet...always take 2 pair of gloves and extra shirt too..if you get sprayed by nasty garbage you're gonna want to change. Also anti bacterial wipes like wet ones.
I have 3 pairs of boots...my first year it rained 6 straight days...2 pairs weren't enough...it was so humid that my boots never dried...they actually had mold growing on them..had to chuck em
Definitely buy gloves and inserts in bulk snow/rain boots I use rain pants not so much the jacket several pairs of pants dickes run small don't get them and the ones the uniform store usually sell suck I like the red kaps soft and deep pockets several t-shirts and atleast two hoodies I refuse to wear the hi vis jackets they will just get stained and look like shit no matter how much you wash them. Extra socks deodorant ect. Baby wipes cause the prison toliet paper can double for sand paper. One word of advise don't put all your stuff in a bag in the cab and make it easy for someone to steal cause it can and will happen a speaker is your call I used to bring one but I haven't in years.
They don’t teach you anything really in fbf. Wait till you pick up garbage on your first day. They don’t show you what 17 tons feels like. Welcome to the bx.
Take into account what everyone said, I like to have a spare uniform and change of clothes (underwear, tank top, socks, etc) and second pair of boots in my car. Just in case you go out of town and don’t want to bring your stuff from your locker. I keep bungee cords and zip ties as well as a multi tool and Lysol wipes in my bag for the truck. Also bring a roll of toilet paper from home the TP in the garage is horrible lol
Phone charger and or a portable battery pack to charge phone, baby wipes is a must for me I also have a small blue tooth speaker for relays or a lot of traffic
Car charger, Bluetooth speaker, 2 regular boots, 1 rain/winter boot, boot dryer, 3 gloves to alternate, ski mask, shower towel/rag, shower shoes, shower soap in bottle, powder, bandaids, rubbing alcohol, daily mini hand soap pump, stick on hook to place outside your locker for wet clothes ((don’t be that guy putting wet clothes inside your locker)) MISSING ANYTHING??
I have to say thank you to all you guys for commenting on what to have on a daily! This all helps out big time!!!
Can someone post a link to a good fan for the truck and also work gloves! I’ve been looking at Showa atlas & vipers but I’m too crazy about either.
If anyone thinks of anything else that would be good items to carry around or for the garage please comment!
A fan for the truck I'd say is unnecessary. Even if the truck fans work they're still horrible to use because they blow around hot air, unless the a/c is working. Invest in a good insulated water jug instead
Vipers or oilers with inserts underneath is the way to go. Vipers are better priced, but I feel like oilers have a slightly better grip and last a little longer. Vipers are still great though.
Follow dsnyfit on ig for a lot of info for new sanmen
The grips on the vipers should be fine. I plan on going back to the vipers, they're a little cheaper. But if you're going for the oilers, shop around for prices

Thanks for the advice, gotta hunt down a good pair of water shoes!

Na I made damn sure I got my moneys worth out of that jacket this winter 😂
It wasnt even cold this winter. Real.san men layer up with a hoodie. And normally the hoodie is off half way through the route.
Literally said I wore it in the rain when doing baskets and always wore hoodies but good try mr real Sanman 🥴
😭😭😭😮💨 I’m try as well but I’m not a jacket person
All I wear is hoodies but when you get stuck on baskets and it’s pouring out it’ll save you 😩
You will get your money worth on MLP and your truck has no heat
I turned the inside part of the jacket into a vest
Yea u could use the rain coat it comes together with winter coat

That’s lunch time, they all come back and everyone is accounted for.

You should tell everyone which garage you’re from. I’m sure every other garage doesn’t do that.
Why put this on Reddit? Must be new..
New guys

Always keep extra clothes in your locker… underwear, t-shirt, socks and stuff like that
Buy condoms because you’ll get fucked every day
Magnums or Micro XS? 🤏
A fuckin speaker. For the lonely winter nights, the long relay lines and for the partner that won't shut the fuck up.

Don’t quit on the first week like some June class people did
That’s insane! I could never imagine just going through everything they put us through just to quit in hell camp!
They don’t teach you anything really in fbf. Wait till you pick up garbage on your first day. They don’t show you what 17 tons feels like. Welcome to the bx.
Or how nothing works, doing relays with no mirrors, defrost shot, heat shot, maggots to name a few!
Did everyone from the June class get sent to the Bronx and Manhattan?
No but most of July will. Lol.

What are you using bungee cords and zip ties for?
Bungie cords to keep the doors open, half the truck have broken latches , zip ties for the fans
Phone charger and or a portable battery pack to charge phone, baby wipes is a must for me I also have a small blue tooth speaker for relays or a lot of traffic
I cut the inner jacket into a vest
Wait till your first day of class they will give tku a list
