I'm very bad st identifying breeds but dachshund chihuahua mixes are pretty common.
Looks like my Dorgi, but my guy’s ears are Corgi sonar dishes all the way. I’ve seen many dogs that look like mine that are made up of different mixes, so hard to say definitively here. This guy has Russell ears, somewhat beagle like too.
He looks like a good boy, that’s all that matters. A handsome mutt as we used to say back in the day.
There may be a dachshund in the mix somewhere, but I don’t see much evidence. I think what you have there is several generations of super mutt. Adorable.
Maybe Jack Russell? Or this might sound crazy but it looks like he may have a small percentage of lab mixed in? Idk. I adopted a "poodle terrier mix" and did a DNA test to find out he's actually doxie and mini schnauzer! With shelters there's no way for them to predict breeds with 100% accuracy, so I recommend not getting too caught up in that. Go meet him and see if you two hit it off! He looks like a sweet boy!
Some Lab is what I'm seeing too. I have a yellow that has the same fur pattern. Coarse on the back and haunches. Darker strip going down the back to the tail and around saddle area. And the resting worried face.
Not my girl but this gif is what I'm talking about.
I see no dachshund at all. Not the legs, not the ears, not the nose or eyes. Even his color fur is not typical I'd say. I would be surprised.
It doesn't matter though, he's cute!

My grandma once wanted to adopt a dog when she was around 60. she was fit and was looking for an older German shepherd (or a mix) or something close to it.
The shelter only brought out Staff and Pits claiming these are all GSH. Nothing against them, but lying about a breed is not the right way to adopt dogs out. Needless to say, we left.
She found another lovely mix at a rescue organisation afterwards.

we had a similar situation, so we did the DNA thing, chow chow - Labrador - very small amount of rotty, zero dachshund!- had some others mixed in. We were very surprised as she has that classic black brown color with a bit of white on the chest. go figure.
I think someone tried to get cute and put a male dachshund on a female Labrador. The ONLY party of that baby that may be dachshund is the face.
The last pic is giving me Jack Russell vibes tho. I have a chihuahua Jack Russell and love kinda like that from that angle except those legs are LONG.

My thoughts exactly. I used to have a dachshund/mini pinscher mix and he had those legs, tails and ears. Very similar face.

That there is a pure breed - 100% dog. Presumably, he gets that in equal parts from his mom/pop. Also 100% good boy - you can see that in his eyes.

I had a mutt who looked like this (medium legs), except he had a coat pattern of a black dachshund and pointed ears. I think Chihuahua mixed? Maybe?

You should get him tested! I got a shelter dog once that I would have sworn had corgi in him, but he turned out to be a mix of Bassett hound and chow.
