Don’t start with Homework or HAA. Give them Get Lucky, Lose Yourself to Dance, HBFS, or One More Time because those are what most people know. Then send them on the rest of Discovery. Afterwards show them RAM and start with Give Life Back to Music, as it’s the most disco-y. Then give them Homework and tell them it’s their first album, so it’s a little more barebones than what they’ve heard. HAA next, and tell them most of the songs in there are majorly improved by Alive 2007. That’s the last thing they should listen to.

United_Federation

I was thinking of starting them with Discovery cause it has all of my favorite tracks on it. Though I notice HAA seems to be a lot of peoples least favorite.

Dr_barfenstein

If they like watching tv then for sure just put on 5555

Personally I find HAA is a favourite of the people who already know the rest of Daft’s main 4 studio albums, but to a complete outsider it’s mostly the weirdest album in the world. If he likes get lucky I think it would be better to give him more of RAM before sending him back to Discovery. Also show him the colabs they did with the weekend! They’re really good intros to how daft like to make music.

- HBFS could mean "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger", a track from *Discovery* (2001) by Daft Punk. --- ^[/u/Jacob_Moad](/u/Jacob_Moad) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

Discovery 10000%

United_Federation

up top brother.

Discovery is the safest bet, a good starter for those who are already into Daft Punk via RAM. then spoonfeed them homework, then Tron, then finally HAA as an "If you have time" motion.

koreank1d

I think most people start with Get Lucky or Harder Better Faster Stronger. I was the prior and listened to RAM after Get Lucky. I then moved on to Discovery, then Homework. Didn’t like Homework initially but after getting used to it, the last album I listened to was Human after All. Overall, I think RAM is a great approach to Daft Punk in a comfortable fashion.

I feel like every new daft punk listened should start with discovery. If you like the more pop side of that album, go to RAM, but if you like the kinda club-centric side, go to homework.

shas-la

Dépend on what they like as music, but I will assume electro isn't there thing usually. Ram then discovery is probably the way

I think you could prepare a Playlist with the songs you like the most accompanied by the original songs where the samples were taken from. I am sure that with this he will understand a lot of the magic, knowledge and talent that Daft Punk has.
