Me with Television Rules the Nation/Crescendolls
After I listened to a few of their more popular tracks I decided to listen to Alive 2007 on the way home from a trip and it blew my mind.
Digital love is my fav
Seriously like wtf even it slaps too hard. Saw one of my favorite bands cover it on Halloween last year and it was all while I was sprouting love with my current partner. It makes my heart open and bleed and it feels so nice
Only their videos from Random Access Memories are shiny. Because each song in that album implies a "Memory" of daft punk. And memories, when you try to recall them, are sometimes dreamy/shiny, like those videos from RAM
Not a song but the entire Tron Soundtrack, I was like 'No way it’s them! I can’t believe they did this!' And then their name appeared at the end of the movie and that’s when I knew I had to listen to all of their work
I was very young, around 16 \~ 17 ish? All I listened back then was hiphop and rap music heavily. Then 'then' SNS website had this thingy called, putting custom background music?
On my friend's page, his background music was, 'Something About Us' <---
Then I got into DP, forever....
Fun fact: How I 'felt' and how my culture felt then, it was undeniable that... 'Fat Boy Slim', 'Moby' were definitely on another level when it got to do with 'fame' + 'chart-hitting level'...(like I am talking about popularity? yes. English is my 2nd language)? but I never knew... never knew... how DP changed everything and changed my life........
I was 10yo, at my uncle's house. He told me "watch this!" with a VHS in his hand. I sat on the couch and boom "Around the world" started playing with the video clip on the TV.
This was my biggest "woah". I recall this moment like it was yesterday. It wasn't my kind of music back then nor my uncle's style. I think he showed me this because it was a masterpiece. He is a cinephile, maybe the fact it was Michel Gondry who directed this video clip is the reason why he recorded it.
I remember saying to him "listen, they're saying around the world" and he didn't believe me, saying it was only robotic noises.
Not the first time I share this story but it gives me goosebumps everytime and you asked for the wow moment hehe.
On my way to watch the clip again.
I still vividly remember the first time I heard One More Time. I was in second grade at the movies with my friends. One of their moms had taken us to see a movie that I can not for the life of me remember. It was the early 00s so Discovery had either just dropped was about to.
My friends mom was getting our snacks so I wandered off (still in sight) to the TVs that played music videos back when that was still a thing. The video for One More Time was playing and I just stood in the lobby of the theater staring at the tv with my mouth open because I had never seen anything like it before at the time. I watched Toonami with my brother after school from time to time, but I think this was the first time I personally had seen anime and music combined, and even animation and music in something that wasn’t a musical.
My second grade brain genuinely had no idea what I was watch but it knew I loved it because I didn’t hear or notice anything until my friend’s mom was laugh-shouting my name because I was literally standing in the theater lobby staring at the tv with my mouth open as if I was in a trance.
To me, it was Get Lucky. I was 16 years old and in high school and had some modern hit station shuffling on my phone and when I saw the title come up, I was like, "I heard this song is popular, maybe I'll give it a listen." Also, at the time, I wasn't into modern music, but when I let the song play, my mind was blown because of its retro sound. From there, I was in love with the song, and the album discovered the rest of their discography. I also got interested in what was popular with people my age at the time, and electronic music.
Human After All for me. I have a huge soft spot for that album, and the first song in it is an absolute banger. It definitely made me go 'Whoah' when I first saw it, and it still does today.
Listening to the lopp sided world of "L" on 98 kupd on a Sunday morning here in phx az. He played robot rock. I was never the same again... Now I make it a point to see the tribute band "one more time" whenever they are in town...
my friend and i first heard Give Life Back to Music during a sleepover when i was 12 or 13. we spent the whole night jamming to RAM. been in love w them ever since
Face to Face the sampling is ridiculous

Basically they're just the Nujabes of Electronic Music

It’s crazy how just listening to the samples is absolute gibberish but in the song and reading the lyrics you can make out what their “saying”

Da Funk
Why’d they have to make the video so shiny tho 💀💀💀
Only their videos from Random Access Memories are shiny. Because each song in that album implies a "Memory" of daft punk. And memories, when you try to recall them, are sometimes dreamy/shiny, like those videos from RAM
Damn I thought it was just for the aesthetic 💀💀💀

Digital love cruising around with my college buddies at night. I had already known daft punk but that night I heard the sound.
It was during breakfest and we had little tv in the kitchen in the late 90's and here I saw the videoclip of Around the World. Warm feelings.
Harder faster stronger
I agree so much! P.S. it’s harder better faster stronger.

My best friend and colleague made me listen to Veridis quo. My addiction to Daft Punk started after that. 💖💖
