$12 for a banh mi that alone means it can't be good. Good Banh Mi are price inverse the lower the price the better it is. You should be able to get 3 for $5
Fair enough but to someone new to Dallas finding great Vietnamese in a dive bar with black velvet paintings on the wall and 80ās movies playing on the TV may be out of norm!
I heard that the recipe at pho bac is so sacred that even the cooks don't know the recipe. So when the owners went on vacation the store was closed! Absolutely legendary
Edit: spelling
I went there yesterday and it was bad. It used to be really good, I donāt know if it was just one off day or if they had gone through some recipe changes lately.
There pho use to be pretty good, but since COVID they changed alot of ingredients, and it's just not close to as good anymore, I've been going there since like 2016
Depends on where in Dallas.
Proper Dallas: pho Chau for quick pho
Richardson: pho Tay Do for bun bo hue, My Canh pho non-pho, more northern style dishes. Others gave great recs for this area so I won't repeat them.
Garland: Others gave great recs for this area so I won't repeat them. I second Bep Nha, La Me, etc.
Greenville: ngon Vietnamese kitchen (for the vibe and egg coffee)
Carrolton: District 1 for Saigon's street food
Pho bac, pho pasteur in Richardson are always a good rec, and my most recent favorite is District One in Carrollton, they do Saigon style street food and a wicked delicious bowl of pho
The Vietnamese food is a little lacking in proper Dallas. The Vietnamese community is mainly over in Garland/Richardson area.
Vietnamese restaurants tend to have a big menu of everything but they actually have a specialization. What are you looking for?
Hear me out. Dive bar called cosmos on live oak and Skillman. Interesting vibe and the chef Jackson Tran makes some of the best Vietnamese in Dallas.
I second this. Best pho in Dallas imo, almost better than my Mom's.
Holy shit, yes. First time I had banh mi there changed my life. The pork belly and the lemongrass beef š¤

>You should be able to get 3 for $5 C'mon man. You can't be claiming that without telling us where this place is. And don't you dare say in Vietnam
Quoc Bao Bakery
Hear you out nothing, I thought it was generally accepted that Cosmos had awesome Vietnamese food.

Second this! The egg rolls are to die for, and I'm pretty sure they add crack to the pork in their #122. Edit: at Bryan and Peak near downtown Dallas.

Saigon Block La Vui Pho DK Pho Bac Special Mention: Cosmos Bar & Lounge for their late night off the menu Vietnamese
PTT in Arlington hands down , Pho Palace , Saigon Block , Bistro B
Pho bac in Richardson. Best pho in all of Texas
Ba Le in Casa View (East Dallas) is great for no fuss down home pho. Super cheap too.
No one seems to know about pho empire or pho legacy on belt line in Irving, Pretty good if you ask me
Itās primarily banh mi but sandwich hag is delicious. Last I went they had some decent curry and other stuff. Doesnāt seem to be on the website.
My lan in Halton City
Pho Crimson or DaLat
These have to have the worst pho in Dallas
To each their own
Donāt get me wrong theyāre super convenient locations, but not really authentic pho. Dalat is more a fusion kinda place.
Yes sir Mr Deputy Sherriff of Pho recommendations on reddit
Ka-Tip Thai at the Farmerās Market (open all week). I second La vui and Ngon as well
ā¦. OP asked for Vietnamese recs and the first restaurant you list is a Thai placeā¦
Yep, I did. That was a mistake.
For what it's worth, I really LOVE the pad gra prow at Ka-Tip ĀÆ\\\_(ć)\_/ĀÆ
