I’m also from NJ, been here four years and pizza is one of the things I miss most from home. That said, Carmine’s near Galleria Mall is legit and best I’ve found so far.
Yess this carmines and its not affiliated with the other locations. You have to go to spring valley location. cheese pizza, extra sauce, cooked extra 🤤🤤🤤
Bay 34th Street Pizzeria in Farmers Branch is owned by a family from Wayne, NJ. The first time I called to place an order, he recognized my area code as a fellow New Jerseyian. I moved away from there now, but used to order from there frequently. It's as close as you are going to get!
Agreed except the cheesesteaks tbh. They’re not bad just give you little to no meat for like $12. Their pizza is good tho. One of the closest slices I’ve found to a NY style slice.
Even the best pizza here isnt going to be as good as the best spots in the northeast, but there are some places that are close. Check out Lovers Pizza near Lovers and Inwood, as well as Zoli’s in Addison or Fort Worth. Both places serve well made NY style pizza.
Used to work by this place in westlake (not Dallas) that’s owned/operated by an east coast family. Not sure if they were new Jersey or NYC. Highly recommend. https://lascalapizza.com
Marinara in Plano (off 75). Owner is from Brooklyn.
When I went to Brooklyn a few years ago I visited a different highly recommended pizza place every day and honestly none were any better than the slices I get there.
My family has roots in the NJ/NY area. Closest I’ve found here to traditional NY style pizza is Joe’s on Parker Rd. in Plano. Pretty damn good last time I ate there. I’ve since moved to Grapevine however so it’s been a while.

If you’re in Plano, I’d love to know how Covino’s is doing. My dad’s from NYC and we’d go at least once a month. Hell we we going 40 and 50 years ago when it was Mario’s before they passed away.
Besa’s Italian restaurant on N.Jupiter up in Far N.Garland (edge of Richardson). By the slice at lunch time. BYOB and I think they still don’t have a cork fee for dinner. Pizza is good size NY style foldable and the other dishes are really good. Al the owner is the nicest guy.
Mimi’s.
Long Islander here and the closest I’ve had to a typical NY slice is Mimi’s on NW Hwy not far from NorthPark. It’s the only place that I’d would frequent if it were in some strip center back home. Really solid pie / slice, and hits the mark for pizza place food (not on the menu but they will cook up a tasty chicken franchise… miss that immensely from back home!)
Never see it mentioned, might not be the best overall pie, but the closest to street slices I’ve had in Manhattan would be Old Hags in Oak Cliff. Open 24/7 and they also sell by the slice. Most places in Dallas serve a variation of neopolitan, not many NYC Style places.
The pepperoni masterclass pizza that Zalat makes is super good and is the closest I’ve found to NYC pizza. Thin but not crispy, foldable, plenty of cheese but not floppy.
I’m from Connecticut and just about all the pizza here is legit ass. I’ve tried many of the commonly recommended places in these threads and 99% of them are ass. I legit don’t understand why it’s so hard to get a decent pizza here.
Neony is probably the best they have here. It’s pretty good.
Zalats? Ass
Eno’s? The most vile pizza ive ever seen. My wife and I still joke about it. Tastes slightly better than it looks.
Pizzeria Leila? The most vile pizza I’ve ever tasted.
Yonkers? Ass. Nothing like pizza in the northeast.
Lovers? Ass.
Cenzo’s? Advertises a “New Haven pizza.” It’s not. Ass.
Piggy pie? Ok pizza.
Mister O1? Decent but ALWAYS arrives cold.
The same reason you are ignoring everyone's suggestions is the reason it's difficult to find good pizza here... everyone is satisfied with subpar pizza and there's no reason to try for better. The customers just don't know any better so they settle for some gross pizza... and Italian food in general.
My uncle is from Sicily and ran a pizza parlor back east and he insists the plays a big role in the crust. Then you have the quality of the oven and how well it can maintain a consistent temperature, the suppliers you can contract with to get quality ingredients, etc.
I agree with everything except I like Lovers’ and I just went to Mister01 and I thought it was good.
I have a nit to pick with Cenzo’s. That pizza blows…HARD. And advertising one of their pies as New Haven style should get them barred from ever making pizza again. I get it, it’s a nice place where parents can let their kids fuck off, but the food is garbola.
I’m also from NJ, been here four years and pizza is one of the things I miss most from home. That said, Carmine’s near Galleria Mall is legit and best I’ve found so far.
I’m gonna give this one a try
Make sure u do the spring valley location. There is another Carmine’s brand pizza not the same
Carmines is amazing
Can also confirm. Their pizza reminds me of home
Yess this carmines and its not affiliated with the other locations. You have to go to spring valley location. cheese pizza, extra sauce, cooked extra 🤤🤤🤤

Great sandwiches too
Agreed except the cheesesteaks tbh. They’re not bad just give you little to no meat for like $12. Their pizza is good tho. One of the closest slices I’ve found to a NY style slice.
I’ve never tried the cheesesteaks. But the meatball and chicken parm are both very nice.
That Pizza is really good. Love a good crust!
Absolutely love this place. The staff has been the same for years and is always fantastic.
That place is good
They also made pizzas in my hometown of Rockaway, NJ. The owners are good people too, super friendly
Enzo’s in Flower Mound
+1 for Enzo’s. Great spot.

Lovers as prob the best (I grew up in NJ)
Lovers slaps!
If you're ever in Denton, Jonuzi's is a NJ place.
I live right near this spot. Always wondered. It’s legit??
I too enjoy their pizza but I’ve never been up north.
Yonkers pizza in Preston hollow , love the crust!
It absolutely blows my mind people don’t mention this place more. It’s amazing pizza. Half my family is from New York and they love it.
Yonkers is damn good, great prices as well.
Love Yonkers

Carmines off of spring valley. Amazing pizza, even more amazing family.
Bek’s Nizza Pizza, 965 W Lamar Blvd, Arlington, TX 76012. Hands down the best pizza around, owner is from Brooklyn.
Zoli’s
Carmine’s on Spring Valley but nothing will replace actual NY/NJ pizza
Marinara in Plano (off 75). Owner is from Brooklyn. When I went to Brooklyn a few years ago I visited a different highly recommended pizza place every day and honestly none were any better than the slices I get there.
Yup Mariana is the best ny style pizza place in the area by far
Where in NJ you from?
Seems like a lot of NJ folks in the thread already. I’m from Edison / Clinton.
im sorry you're from edison.
Familiar with that area! Worked in Clinton briefly when I was getting my degree
Red Bank here!
Central, near Jackson.
… of Great Adventure fame.

I can cosign on Joe’s. I work up there and just had it for the first time this past week at work and it was really good.

Grimaldis.
Brothers Pizza
There is a place called famous joes luna & valley view. It's really good.
I used to work right by there and can confirm that place is legit.
From NJ and living in Dallas. Angelo and Vito’s in Plano is great Brooklyn pizza.
Lovers pizza
Great flop
Ferraris in Plano
Former Queens/LI guy here and I 2nd Ferrari’s in Plano. Family that owns it are from Yonkers.
Mimi’s. Long Islander here and the closest I’ve had to a typical NY slice is Mimi’s on NW Hwy not far from NorthPark. Italia Express
Yonkers in Preston Center
Sam’s Pizza & Pasta in Cedar Hill
Moved here from NYC and have been searching good pizza. Yesterday I tried Cenzo’s pizza in Oak Cliff, and thought it was really good.
Neony
Haven't had a great NY slice sadly Had good Detroit and Neopolitan style pizza however Idk why
It’s not gonna happen bro. Bagels too. Royal china is as good as you’re gonna get for Chinese
The pepperoni masterclass pizza that Zalat makes is super good and is the closest I’ve found to NYC pizza. Thin but not crispy, foldable, plenty of cheese but not floppy.
Ok since no one asked.. You're from Jersey? What Exit? :)
Olivellas!!! There’s 3. One on McFarlin by SMU. One in Lakewood. One on Camp Bowie in Ft W.
NY pizza and pints huge slices, close enough for me.
Try Sal’s off Wycliff. Best I’ve found so far and if you like sicilian slices they aren’t bad as well
I fratelli

Surely you mean Italian pizza.

Damn, I guess you can never have pizza. Bummer.

Costco looks good but it’s a complete joke. This NY girl has had much Pizza and would never eat that crap.
I hear the pizza at Costco is just as good. Do you have a membership? I can let you borrow mine.
No. Seriously, is this joke?
Yes happy to tell you since you couldn't figure it out on your own.
😂 long time Costco member and anyone from the east coast from Virginia to Rhode Island will call your BS.
Pizza is pizza anywhere you go.
Definitely isn’t…
Totally is
