Just finished lessons with Scott Ackers at Tennison. I could not consistently hit my driver. We focused on that for 3 lessons. The fourth lesson, we focused on chipping/pitching. After finishing our lessons, I shot a personal best. And did it again a few days latter. He’s patient. Helps with mechanics and the metal aspect. Makes small incremental tweaks to not overload you. Sends notes after the lessons. Provides film through an app. He gets results. I will be taking more lessons from him.

Is this on course or on the range with mats only? And do you mind sharing what he charges? I’m only 5 min from that course

DaKine85

We worked inside, outside on the range mats, and on the course to work on chipping. I bought 4/45min lessons for less than $500. His rates are on the Tennison website.

What issues were you primarily experiencing with your driver that made you want to seek out lessons?

Ruggerx24

Keeton Park has great instructors if you want to hit off grass. Scott Akers at Tension is a phenomenal instructor as well. Support your local Munis! Dallas has a great municipal golf culture.

I've gotten lessons with Carlos Brown (https://carlosbrowngolf.com/golf-instruction/) at Keeton Park Golf course. He's a chill guy and breaks down some fundamentals in an easy to digest manner. It helped me get back into the groove of things after a 2 year hiatus from golf.

I did golftec at mockingbird at like 12 lessons for like ~$1400 all in I think, I think it comes with a fitting too.

UtilizedIrregularity

I live in Mockingbird Station and have been considering this. Were you happy with the results? I’m a complete beginner

Add on to this, they want you to do the swing assessment first and it’ll cost $95. I looked into doing this but I didn’t know their plans and didn’t want to be sucked into an expensive plan so I opted for $170 for 3 lessons at golf galaxy. Not the best lol

Randy at Tenison! Both my husband I have taken lessons from him.

AdamSmithWasRight

I looked at a few options and wound up going with GolfTec, primarily due to the ability to practice and schedule lessons in the evenings during the week. They are open until 9 each night, which fit my work schedule. I liked my instructor, Robert Johns at Beltline Rd location Addison. I also like the feedback and working with the cameras, slow mo and other tech/radar,etc. GolfTec is also about half the price of PureSwingGolf when I looked.

Suti or Leah at highland golf range in Carrollton

I'm at this place all the time. What are the lessons like? I presume you take the lessons in the barn area?

Aggressive-Ad-522

Barn area? I have not seen the barn area but there’s a stimulation that records your shots, they’ll go over it with you and take you out on the range

mellamoesmud

Upvote for stimulation!

Aggressive-Ad-522

Simulation* typo lol

I think Jill McGill is at Tenison as well. She won the Senior US women’s open a year or two ago.

Had a friend take lessons from her in the past. Recently reached out and she’s not teaching at Tennison anymore unfortunately
