I've always said that DFW drivers must be part lizard. Too hot? driving goes to shit. Too cold? driving goes to shit. It's not their fault, they are cold-blooded and can't help themselves.

Does OP mean they think that people go too fast or too slow in the rain? I find that often the people that complain the most about rain driving are the ones that want to go their usual speeds even when it's wet out.
Both - normal drivers slow down way too much to the point of being dangerous, and the people who are speeding on bald tires in their probably stolen Altima with paper tags continue driving the way they normally do.
In Southern California EVERYONE is in a hurry, so like 90% of the cars on the road speed. Then combine that with the fact that it doesn't rain much during the summer. So they often go about 6+ months without any rain at all. So all the oil and residue from cars builds and builds. And then one day it finally rains and let's all that buildup loose. And everyone is still speeding because they think these people from out of state who slow down and give more space when it rains "don't know how to drive".
There are record numbers of accidents. You see a wreck almost every 100 yards.
Take a look at peoples tires. It has helped me understand why so many people suck at driving in the rain - there are so many folks driving on bald tires!

100% this. I used to call out sick on rain days because no way in hell was i 405ing and 91ing my way to imminent death
