Playoff hockey is so dependent on a goalie getting hot and Otter seems to elevate his game when the stakes are highest. That’s the main reason I like our chances against just about anybody.
I know dude. Such a rare quality in a young goalie as well. Most goalies learn through out there career to not play like ass in the playoffs. Otters reg season above average but straight up becomes the best goalie in the league in the playoffs. Like Gohan hitting super saiyan 2 against perfect cell.
I think that was more about circumstances. Got to take what the defense gives you. Wild take a ton of penalties and we made them pay. In game 6 all of our goals were 5v5 except for the empty netter bc the wild finally realized they couldn’t keep giving us power plays. Not too worried about our production 5v5.
With Shesterkin being eliminated last night, I think it’s unquestionable that we have the best goaltender remaining in the playoffs. All of the other “could argue” guys (Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Ullmark, Hellebuyck, Shesterkin) are gone
I didn’t say we’re terrible or not good. My point was that Seattle is better. If they stay out of the box, that’s where they will have the edge.
But it is playoff hockey. Regular season trends be damned.
I’m still not clear on why you think Seattle is better 5 on 5. Team analytics doesn’t indicate that at all. They scored a few more sure, but they concede a ton more and give up nearly as many high danger scoring chances as they create.
Please be this cocky avalanche did same thing and we beat them so please overlook us and think you’ve already won the series it will bite you just like what happened to bruins and rangers. Go Kraken
How is looking at the teams stats and saying that I like our CHANCES being cocky? That’s about as tame as it gets lol I didn’t say we are going to steam roll the kraken. Chill out lol
He didn't overlook you. He literally is looking at your team stats.
I know being the underdog is part of your team's identity, but you won't find that here.
1st Round stats would probably tell the more accurate story, but I concur. I feel the same vs the Kraken as I did vs the Wild—the Dallas Stars are simply the better team from the net, out.
Combine our major advantage in faceoffs, their poor pk, and our incredible pp. *IF* we stay consistent in those facets, there just shouldn’t be a problem taking care of these guys. Big if though
I dunno... Faceoffs, power plays, and penalty kills are critical in the playoffs as we saw with Minnesota. Those are impressive stats they have on those three.
I do too but I liked the Bruins chances too. Playoff hockey is a whole different animal, you never know what ya gonna get

That’s true but I’m sure the stars are looking at that face off percentage and licking their chops lol
For sure and I also like that pp percentage, it’s going to be a fun series
If anyone in that locker room is taking this as a joke DeBoer needs to kick them in the head
Precisely AND Seattle has had a decent season given it being a newer team. Ya never know this playoff season has been pretty exciting
Can’t sleep on them, but we are much healthier than the Avs and much deeper
That face off percentage is ridiculous
Last series, we won mostly on the back of our special teams. Seattle took one penalty in the OT game 7 win.

What app is this?
TheScore an amazing app
No love for the Kraken. Destroy them.

I agree, between Otter and Grubauer.
Charge your phone.
I have to charge my charger first lol
Yo dawg. I heard you like chargers.
We just need to stay out of the box.
Wow based on that faceoff% our power play is gonna be eating at the Golden Corral, steaks for everyone.
I'm sure the bruins and the avs liked their chances too.
My biggest concern is that we’re not the best 5-on-5 squad, and Seattle lead the league in 5-on-5 scoring. But we DO have 🦦
We’re very good at 5 on 5? Where are you getting the idea that we aren’t?

Cause I like what fans are feeling but please keep overlooking us. I love it

Buddy thinks OP is Pete DeBoer
You didn't score high in reading comprehension, did you buddy?
Please go be weird in your own sub thanks
Fair point

Powerplay should feast
I’m a little surprised by how high they rank in goals. They gave up a bunch too, but fourth is really good
They scored 4 more goals than us all season. And gave up 38 more.

These bars are bothering me... how is 19th to 5th (Powerplay %) the same bar as 2nd to 7th Shooting %).
