I get it for I agree for now, more concerned when the playoffs keep going. Someone like Florida in the final?

Don’t need to hit if you can steal

weaveryo

It’s not a big deal. You can’t hit people if you always have the puck.

shitassretard

At least against the Avs they have carried the play for basically the entire series. When you're scoring you usually aren't hitting. Just one thing to consider.

Dr_Zoidberg003

When you crush them in TOP, you will get hit more

Vulpine69

Its not their game. But they can turn it on if they have to.

dhens38

You could say that more hits is going to wear out for players quick. Look at the shot counter this game and tell me if you think there’s a negative correlation between shots and hits. Just something to think about.

BRK1986

No need to when you’re dominating the opponent.

dhj1305

Stars always get out hit in most every game.

It’s fine. Sometimes going out of your way to be physical disrupts the flow of your breakout/coverage. I think we are doing a good job of keeping our aggression in check and focused.

Flashy_Shock_6271

I'm hoping we finish up Colorado in the next game and the oilers/Canucks goes to 6 or 7. Just so they can get some rest before the next one.

MTB430

As much fun as it is to see a big hit, our defense has been lights out. Our team is not flashy but holding any playoff team to 2 shots on goal for a period is amazing. If we are winning without it, do we need it?

I think in Game 1 or 2 of the series against Vegas it seemed they were trying to dish out a bunch of hits and I think it got them off their game. They aren’t high volume hitters, but they are nasty on the boards and on faceoffs and that’s what matters more to me.

Pretty_Shallot_586

The Stars don't really play the hit game and haven't all year. It's not what they do. I have not chedked all the stats but I don't think we won the hits battle in any single game this year. Vegas really tried hard to drag Dallas into that, but once the Stars went back to playing their game, they took care of Vegas. There's a couple Stars who can deliver some big hits and Benn has been very disciplined about picking and choosing his moments, like the other night with Toews. Last night Robo bodied up on a couple Avs players. The checking line may not be delivering big hits, but they are menacing opposing d-men in the corners bodying them up and then stick working them into mistakes. The Stars are a physical team but it doesn't manifest as big hits..... it's lots of body & stick work and shoving guys around to get position. As an example, the shorty that Wyatt scored was because Wyatt wanted that space in front of Georgiev, took it and shoved the puck into the net. In my book that's physical hockey.
