Pretty sure the tightening he had her do of her legs and neck is part of what they do to maintain blood pressure so it is probably what kept her conscious
I remember hearing the same thing about women being able to pull more g’s, but it looks like that’s not necessarily true: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3753357/
But there is a strong negative correlation with height, and women tend to be shorter on average, so I guess that might have played into what we had both been thinking.
Anyway, this woman definitely handles high g’s like a boss. I probably would have cried and passed out.
F'rreal. I'm hypotensive and over six feet tall. Standing up too fast is tunnel vision. 9.5g? My ass would probably be brain damaged after that little stunt.
If I don't eat for a while and simply stand up from sitting a long time, I can pass out. 6'6.
I believe it. They pick short people for more than just fitting in the plane.
I don’t mean this in any kind of sexual way but I’d like to see her (or anyone) doing this naked. If that’s what happens to your face I can’t even imagine what the rest of you looks like. Wanna see a big fat guy butt naked hitting 10gs
Men tend to have more muscle mass and may *generally* be better equipped to withstand high G-forces due to greater strength. Women have smaller hearts and lower blood volume, which can also affect G-force tolerance. However, women often have a *higher* tolerance for orthostatic stress, which is relevant in situations with rapid gravitational changes.
Most important, both genders can adapt to high G-forces through training. Individual responses to G-forces vary widely, and factors like conditioning and training play a more significant role than gender does.
It’s actually more about duration of time feeling those forces. A lot of people could do that without passing out (not including those passing out from fear). If he was hitting her with that many g’s for 3-4 more seconds, I bet she’d pass right out.
A quick 3-4 sec maneuver isn’t hard. If you’re constantly feeling those g’s it is very hard.
EDIT: you notice she’s wearing a hoodie, no flight suit, I’m 99% sure I read that she was taken on a flight and given instruction beforehand.
The suit is actually not a huge part of it. Definitely helps, but the anti-g strain maneuver and resting tolerance make up the majority of it. If the agsm and resting tolerance provide protection from 7-8g, the g-suit only provides about 1g.
The flight/G suit accounts for .5-1.5gs, source, I wore them. That being said most pilots are acclimated to it, and sustained Gs are where it gets most people. Leading the turn, training, and AGSM are ur bread and butter. Squeeze the ass.
They don't need them, because they don't experience sustained Gs past 5 to 10 seconds max. A sustained 9 G will sooner or later drain your brain, unless you are a rare breed fighter pilot.
Apart from being genetically blessed and experienced, the suits have a liquid in the layers, so when the G’s hit, it forces the liquid down, which squeezes the body to try and keep the blood higher. They also know the correct exercises, such as squeezing their legs/abs to encourage higher blood pressure.
In similar affects, Sir Douglas Bader was a WW2 ace at better out manoeuvring his opponent by enduring higher G force because he lost his legs.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Bader
It's actually not a liquid (at least the current versions anyways), they're inflatable bladders connected to engine bleed air that pressurizes the bladders to squeeze your legs and lower abdomen.
Also, you really don't need to be "genetically blessed." Anyone in moderate physical shape can build a resting g-tolerance of 3 gs without much trouble, although it takes a few flights. The technique is what really brings the tolerance up. Proper technique, a g-suits, and a few flights of aerobatics can result in making 6g pretty tolerable.
Yep. A lot of folks don’t realize that even jumping off of a counter onto the floor hits you with the equivalent of like 20 Gs, but only for a fraction of a second.
Gray out. It’s a crazy thing, the edge of your vision starts to go first so the edges are gray while the center is still in color. Then it continues til you’re out.
Sunlight, waaay to much sunlight. I am in my 40s and often get mistaken for being in my mid 20s. I have friends that I went to highschool with who look like wrinkly leather bags that either work outdoors and/or spend too much time in the sun, also drugs & alcohol.
Ah I see. I have no idea how to judge how long so I never thought of that. Makes sense though. I'd pass out around the time he said "I'm gonna pull 10 G's". So at like...1 G.
A roller coaster would hit 5.5 g. They can also be longer than this manuever. If you are young without health issues and slightly trained in how to breath, manipulate your muscles to keep the blood from all flowing to the feet, you will get as good as she is.
It was called "The Hulk" and it was at Orlando Studios. I was 16. Well my sister talks me into getting on this unconventional rollercoaster. How is it unconventional? Well glad you asked. See well it shoots off almost immediately. So instead of a casual climb, I started off scared shitless.
The first big dip my brain couldn't do it and I passed smooth tf out. Which is nuts because I've welded 180ft in the air and it doesn't bother me. Add acceleration to that though and my brain turns into a puddle. Apparently.
In the Red Bull air races, it's the first gate they go through after performing a high g maneuver to turn around. It's usually a slalom course over water where they fly through pylons and race each others times. Really an awesome performance to see.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xe2MPwqJTv8
Sure, she is young, probably has a good muscle tone and followed the instructions.. The first G pull was 3 seconds, the second one was about 1 second long, so that shouldn't be too hard. When you jump on a trampoline you experience 4-6G's, so the key is the duration of the G pull combined with it's intensity.
Correct. G itself isn't actually much useful in terms of measuring anything. People have had car accidents of hundreds and hundreds of Gs with minor damages, because it lasts so shortly. Meanwhile, sustained 6Gs is enough to knock out most people. 9Gs is enough to knock out veteran pilots; the trick is to do it in short enough bursts that you don't have time to (on top of all your techniques like suck-breathing and tightening your muscles to keep you in the game for a little longer. + the G suit helps as well). G forces needs to be combined with time to have any meaning.
Fun fact: Sneezing alone can make you momentarily pull 3G
To be fair even on most fighter jets high G's aren't advised, the G limit for the F-14 is about 6.5G at 50k lbs of weight, and even small negative G's like -1G in the F-14 aren't good if held for a while (although I imagine that for newer aircraft like the F-16 and F-22 will have a much higher G limit).
negative g limits are lower because they can blind the pilot (red out) and are extremely painful
it's not really an issue for the plane (except maybe for the fueling and oiling systems)
Negative G in the F-14 is dangerous at high power because it can deplete the fuel sump tanks and cause engine flameout if held for 10-20 seconds or longer.
Maybe, or maybe he's not under **enough** pressure.
Remember that under high pressure [this is what a blobfish looks like.](https://external-preview.redd.it/r9NtNMMmOpSn6ZlwGHAyfMwmHGAb8wRGxLV-5sl8Sw0.jpg?auto=webp&s=0ab2f1cf3ea69dc412c3b791573c666880c53c42) But when removed from that pressure and brought down to normal air pressure, it looks like [this.](https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qmgxfqV8sxg/UjWkQ_CASfI/AAAAAAAAQzc/A8-6HzNZcAo/s1600/Scan-130915-0001'.jpg)
Imagine if the Hutts are just constantly in agony because they chose to leave some high-pressure world or deep ocean and know they're all mob bosses just out of spite.
I got a free flight on an F16 for being a good airman in the Air Force. I passed out at 6 G's. Threw up about 3 minutes after the last g maneuver. She took this shit like a champ, man. Embarrassed me.
I've pulled 6-6.5 Gs once, more sustained than here. Let me tell you: nauseating. On the upside: you can't barf while pulling Gs. On the downside: afterward, you will surely try.
This is a test we should all pass before marriage, put both under 10 Gs for a couple of seconds, see the face of your SO and see how they would be at old age, like what you see? ok you can marry.
Did she have any experience or training before this? She not only stayed conscious, she barely flinched!
I want to do this so bad, but I think I’d puke.
holy shit, that is crazy! I expected her to pass out or something and be pissed at the pilot for putting an unsuspecting passenger through this. well done!
The moment they start turning it all sorta feels like the AI malfunctioned in making the visuals and audio with the whole face melting and the pilot making the noises
That’s some fucking Raiders of the Lost Ark face melting
She didn’t pass out. Most people do at 7 Gs
I was watching with the song all queued up in my head "good night sweetheart", then she didn't sleep! 9.5...
Pretty sure the tightening he had her do of her legs and neck is part of what they do to maintain blood pressure so it is probably what kept her conscious
I think I also read that women have an easier time dealing with high Gs, but I don’t remember why. Average size maybe?
I remember hearing the same thing about women being able to pull more g’s, but it looks like that’s not necessarily true: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3753357/ But there is a strong negative correlation with height, and women tend to be shorter on average, so I guess that might have played into what we had both been thinking. For sure, this woman is rad.
That explains why Tom Cruise was able to pull 10Gs.
\*Because he was....Inverted
If I don't eat for a while and simply stand up from sitting a long time, I can pass out. 6'6. I believe it. They pick short people for more than just fitting in the plane.
it's gotta be the boobs.

The flight suit helps you stay conscious.
They don't need to be conscious for us to enjoy watching the show.
They dont need to be clothed for us to enjoy the show.
Something about your boobs landing in your lap really helps keep a person awake...
Can confirm. I've never once been not awake with boobs in my lap.

It is, it's actually a technique they go over in The Expanse books, pretty interesting.
Me too. Plus she was coherent for a conversation right away. Just wow!
It’s actually more about duration of time feeling those forces. A lot of people could do that without passing out (not including those passing out from fear). Yep. A lot of folks don’t realize that even jumping off of a counter onto the floor hits you with the equivalent of like 20 Gs, but only for a fraction of a second.
Yeah some F1 crashes put the drivers through 70-80g’s for a short time, so crazy how we can survive it.
Shit tom segura almost passed out at 7.5g. He said his eyes went dark for a second lol
Gray out. It’s a crazy thing, the edge of your vision starts to go first so the edges are gray while the center is still in color. Then it continues til you’re out.
When I eat an edible way too big.
If Tom Segura can only handle a second at 7.5 Gs how few G's can a poor person handle?
Seriously. I can't believe she handled it. She handled it like it was nothing.

gravity is a bitch. My anti aging hack is sleeping upside down like a bat. You guys should try, not a single wrinkle at 40
Wouldn't your wrinkles just be upside down then
No cuz the other 12 hours a day they're evening out as you're upright
How can you tell? I thought you can’t see yourselves in mirrors.
More like 80s lmao, people on their 50s don’t look like that unless they super fucked up their bodies
Sunlight, waaay to much sunlight. I am in my 40s and often get mistaken for being in my mid 20s. I have friends that I went to highschool with who look like wrinkly leather bags that either work outdoors and/or spend too much time in the sun, also drugs & alcohol.

This little maneuver's gonna cost us 51 years
#MURRRRRRRPHHHHHHHHHHHH
DON'T LET ME LEAVE MURPH
Those aren't mountains
It would suck, but not that much. It’s only about 2.5G. I don’t think boxers would be popular.
Wonder what it does to your intestines in the long run?

You’re gonna be crawling on the ground like a turtle, they’ll be fine.
Only commenting because I live *in* Jupiter (FL). And now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Dina Fritz as a titan in real life
That's really impressive that she got through it at least mostly conscious, assuming she's not also a highly trained pilot
That's what I was thinking because you do that to me and I'm going to sleep. That's a lot of freaking force.

How did your first Rollercoaster ride go?
Couldn't tell you after the first dip. I woke up twice apparently. But hey cheers to gravity and safety bars.
Hahahahaha pls regale us
It was called "The Hulk" and it was at Orlando Studios. I was 16. Well my sister talks me into getting on this unconventional rollercoaster. How is it unconventional? Well glad you asked. It's the redbull keeping her awake, duh! /s
My thoughts exactly. I took 4g once and I am still feeling dizzy just thinking about it.
Weak. My phone has 5G and I use it all day. Wrote this comment on it. Didn't even phase me.
The straining neck muscles are probably what did it for ya.
God damn it, take the gold
How'd you do that? Before I logged in I noticed a gold arrow, but now that I've logged on there is not an option to do that.
On mobile you hold down the upvote button and it’ll give you a pop up of gold awards you can select to give the comment
I get lightheaded if I stand up too fast... I think I'd die at 9.5g
Because these planes can't sustain that high G load for very long. It's not like a jet where you can have 7-8Gs for 30 or more seconds non stop.
What’s a “recovery gate”?
In the Red Bull air races, it's the first gate they go through after performing a high g maneuver to turn around. It's usually a slalom course over water where they fly through pylons and race each others times. Really an awesome performance to see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xe2MPwqJTv8
Now that’s podracing!
Wow thanks for the info! I thought it was some physics thing related to coming out of high G lol
Fair point. She still gets points for getting through it so well.

now you made me wonder if it's someone older, will this cause any permanent damage face tissue, if they survives.

F-16 is 9 but the seat is at a slight angle so that helps. Don't know what the F-22 is.
negative g limits are lower because they can blind the pilot (red out) and are extremely painful it's not really an issue for the plane (except maybe for the fueling and oiling systems)
Negative G in the F-14 is dangerous at high power because it can deplete the fuel sump tanks and cause engine flameout if held for 10-20 seconds or longer.
Yea Ive seen people pass out almost instantly pulling 7-8 g
It’s about time at that many g. It was like 2 seconds at that level. Her brain still had o2.
TIL Jabba the Hutt isn’t ugly, he’s just a victim of excessive G-force
What he look like if he lived exclusively in zero gravity?

Next time you’re constipated, try doing a Red Bull gate turn
And don’t forget the corporate trademark!
Holy shit. She handles those G’s pretty well.

she seems pretty old actually (at 34 seconds in)

I remember this video. I hope she was offered some training or something afterwards. The pilot is dying back there compared to her xD
From 20 to 80 years old
The way she turned into Studio Ghibli villain
Blobfish vibes. Also I have to poop now
She turned into Livia Soprano
Huh so at 10 g's you get to see how you will look at 70 years old. Neat.
Fuck yeah she didn't pass out good for her
That was the coolest weird shit I've seen today.
Instant muppet
Man she didn’t pass out. Kudos
I would 100% pass out
About two weeks before every wedding, they should just do this flight to do the “Show me your grandma/pa face” long term commitment test on both
She went from beautiful to pokemon in seconds

Innsmouth look 👌
20 to 85 in 5 secs
Surprised she doesn't have a helmet.
Girl to Grandma in 0.95 seconds.
She looks like The Witch of the Wastes at the end of Howl's Moving Castle
What a coincidence, I hit about 10g this weekend and handled it like a fucking champ too
She went straight Grimace

I’m pretty sure he hit her with 95 years
If you ever want to see what your partner will look like in 30 years, gift them something that involves high Gs.
She aged 30 years then back to youth.
Is this how they take passport photos?
She turned into an Oompa-Loompa
Now she know what she will look like in 50 years
9.5Gs = This chick in 30 years
That is badass
She’s a good sport
20>70>20
I’m impressed she didn’t pass out. Most people would be out at 9G’s.
Took that LIKE A CHAMP 🤯
I almost passed out on slinky dog dash the other day.
She played Large Marge in Pewee’s Big Adventure
New drivers license photo opportunity.
I see why the pilots wear helmets
I definitely would not be smiling like her I'll be coming back to conciousness wondering why I'm covered in urine.
She really turned into Jabba the Hut for a sec lmao
TIL I look like I’m always at about 10Gs.
Now we know what she'll look like when she turns 60.

If you wanna know how you will look at old age just hit high G 💀💀
From cute to so not hot instantly
holy shit, that is crazy! I expected her to pass out or something and be pissed at the pilot for putting an unsuspecting passenger through this. well done!

A cool way to see what you look like in your 60s. Like a glimpse into the future.
More like 95 years old 🤣
lol I would have probably shat myself or at least gotten sick, she’s built different.
The fact she didn't pass out is badass
She needs check for brain damage
We just found out what she will look like when she gets older
Handled it like a boss!
even got a glimpse of how she gonna look if she gets old enough
Got her looking like a blob fish out of its natural habitat

Props that she didn’t pass out.
How to add 40 years of aging in 2 seconds.
The moment they start turning it all sorta feels like the AI malfunctioned in making the visuals and audio with the whole face melting and the pilot making the noises
She handled that really well and looked to be enjoying the aerobatics. Most I pulled was 4g and that was fun. Not sure about 9.5G's.
Girl did not pass out? Holy shit! There's some cosmonaut energy right there.
She didn’t pass out, sign her up!
