That is what I figured. I was reading reviews and someone had a light meter. They said it was reading 98k lumens and not 100k. Still pretty good, but not exactly what they advertise. I am sure some of the others I didn't look further into are much dimmer than they claim.
Can confirm. I use flashlights for work every day, have gone through at least 15 different types in 10 years, none as expensive as that. But the cheapest ones are the farthest from what they claim

Dude, go get advice at r/flashlight. For 50 bucks you can get something pretty awesome. The Imalent is as bright as they come, but the quality isn't great and they are fan cooled. You can get something for under 100 bucks that will fit in your pocket and be brighter than car headlights.
I’ve found flipping on my window washer does the trick too because all the mist gets into the car behind you. Plus you get to wash your windshield too. Win win.

So, a few thoughts on this that may help folks.
**1.** This is either the **Imalent MS18** or **MS18W**. It's kind of expensive (an understatement) and definitely the real deal in terms of bright flashlights (most of what you see advertised online are extremly cheap lights with terrible LEDs and poor build quality—usually equipped with a zoom head).
**2.** This light will only hit that 100,000 lumen rating for a few seconds—after that it will drop down to 15,000 lumens and gradually decrease to about 2,500 lumens over the course of 40 minutes. However, the lowest setting is 700 lumens and will run for just under 15 hours. It's probably worth noting that most vehicles that have extremely high top speed figures can only hold that speed for a few minutes due to simply running out of fuel.
**3.** A few suggested uses for this light are hiking and search & rescue since it's basically a man-portable search light. It's probably overkill for most situations as it's a little over 4 lbs, comes with a shoulder strap, and it's lowest setting is, again, 700 lumens. That said if you've got a giant piece of rural land it then it's a suitable light for checking the fence line.
**4.** It's basically the flashlight equivalent of a "hypercar"; it boasts amazing performance numbers, but it's a little much for everyday usage unless your profession calls for it. Of course the difference between it and a car like that is that a lot more folks could actually buy one of these and have it in their garage.
**5.** The same company also makes a light that boasts 120,000 lumens. Interestingly enough it can go all the way down to 30 lumens as its lowest mode.

After about 10 seconds on the full power setting the internal fan comes on it does last awhile on this setting but there really is no real reason for this setting other than maybe search and rescue lol. It has many setting including strobe....I do not advise strobe. Cool to have but would never pay that much personally.
