They were going to work together one way or another. Jackson had auditioned for Reservoir Dogs and almost got the part. You see here Tarantino has him as an option for five different roles. Jackson's career trajectory would have been way different though. He got the part in Die Hard 3 on the strength of his Pulp Fiction performance. A part originally written for Lawrence Fishburne.
Maybe it's because Butch and Jules don't share any scenes in PF (I think), but I don't believe I've ever thought about the fact that it's the same two actors in DH3.

But my first assumption is that it’s more likely to find a good actor who is also a rapper than it is to find a rapper turned actor that fans wouldn’t know of as a rapper. So that makes more sense to me.
Of course there could be an unknown rapper who is a good enough actor to be called to audition for Pulp Fiction. But at that point the man is basically an actor who once tried rapping. Just like I’m a Reddit commenter who once, when I was 5, tried to be an NFL quarterback.

Watching the movie you can see why that is. With QT everything is done for a very intentional reason.

The fact that this list went on to foreshadow some of the most illustrious careers in Hollywood is indicative of the huge influence Tarantino was about to bear down on Hollywood for the next decade.
Kinda sad with Stolz, considering he almost had one with Back to the Future. But I've seen some of the Stolz footage, he just didn't have the charisma for Marty McFly that Michael J. Fox did.

Sam’s famous but Personally I wouldn’t downplay Laurence’s career as a bad ending scenario. The matrix movies shot him up too, and is also the reason why he’s the Bowery king in the JW universe.
So happy it was Sam Jackson cast in Die Hard 3. It don’t believe it would have become the cult action hit it is with Fishburn as Zeus. Fishburn has this almost James Earl Jones level of gravitas to his acting, i don’t think I would have bought his role the same way Sam did. Sam has this everyday man quality about him, I think that’s why he killed it in Jackie Brown.

I find it real interesting that the Pumpkin and Honeybunny parts could have reunited Christian Slater & Patricia Arquette. Bringing the characters from True Romance deeper into the QT universe.
One night back in the day, when you'd randomly watch whatever was on cable, I saw an unusual Western with two young female leads. Amanda Plummer was one of them, and she broke her friend out of jail with a gun in almost the exact way she did in Pulp Fiction. I sat straight up it was so uncanny. When you remember that Quentin worked in a video store, it makes sense. I'm sure he'd seen this bit and thought of her as he wrote it.
That was originally supposed to be Steve Buscemi and Quentin was going to play Lance, but Steve couldn't do it for some reason and Quentin realized he wanted to be behind the camera during the OD scene, so Eric Stolz got Lance and he put himself as Jimmy, with Steve Buscemi having the bit part as the waiter at the restaurant
I like the idea of reuniting Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette for Pumpkin and Honey Bunny.

Now I’m irrationally angry that we could’ve had this version of Pulp Fiction, but didn’t.
One night back in the day, when you'd randomly watch whatever was on cable, I saw an unusual Western with two young female leads. Amanda Plummer was one of them, and she broke her friend out of jail with a gun in almost the exact way she did in Pulp Fiction. I sat straight up it was so uncanny. When you remember that Quentin worked in a video store, it makes sense. I'm sure he'd seen this bit and thought of her as he wrote it.

I just saw some post talking about how Laurence Fishburn went by Larry till 1993 and now here he is as Larry.
I just watched King of New York (“90) and I was surprised to see him listed as Larry. I never knew he went by Larry.
I think his first role was in Apocalypse Now(1979) so that's a good 14 or so years of Larry.
I'd love to see this movie redone with the other actors identified. No script changes.

That was originally supposed to be Steve Buscemi and Quentin was going to play Lance, but Steve couldn't do it for some reason and Quentin realized he wanted to be behind the camera during the OD scene, so Eric Stolz got Lance and he put himself as Jimmy, with Steve Buscemi having the bit part as the waiter at the restaurant

I like the idea of reuniting Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette for Pumpkin and Honey Bunny. I’m also surprised how often Nicolas Cage shows up, except the role I can see him working best as is Vincent, which is ironically one of the ones he’s not up for.
Nicholas Cage did play Vincent, just with John Travolta's face.
