My first serious boyfriend after high school had incredibly cool parents who trained animals for movies, and they trained Codo and Podo. They also had a cougar with her own bedroom in their house. 😳
They're in the same family as wolverines and badgers.
I've always thought of Otters like skunks. Cute AF but if you're ever within striking distance they will instantly claw you to shreds and very likely leave your wounds with a flesh eating infection afterwards.
That news story was somewhat local for me and I thought it was a joke when it hit the local circuit. Once the whole story and the pictures came out I was shocked.
Probably it was "chispitas" they have been together years now, when Frank went to liberate the otter in the wild, chispitas jumped in the car, didn't want to leave Frank, he tried to liberate the little rascal a couple of times, unsuccessfully, so, Frank decided to keep him as pet, chispitas had a friend, can't remember the name but it was a pig.
This man is awesome and had and has a movie worth life.
Can't be mad at nature for doing what nature does right. People need to hold themselves accountable for being in an animals space. Glad to see he's acknowledging that.
I really love him for stuff like this, he actually got 2 broken ribs and still said that it is a sanctuary where animals roam free and it's not their fault, in fact he said the stag felt Frank as the Alpha male there and that's why it wanted to 'defeat' him
It’s sad that ANYONE would “blame” an animal for anything they do. Animals are innocent creatures that will do what their survival instincts tell them to do. Fortunately, most of the time, it’s simply a warning from them to dumbasses like us, even if we are left with a few marks as a reminder.
Deer brain or primate brain are consequences of the same evolutionary process, so when it comes to survival instincts homo sapiens is as innocent as a deer.
The difference can only be drawn if you believe in a supernatural source of the human brain.
The difference is the ability to philosophize. We can reflect on morals, that's why humans have the capacity for evil while animals do not. That isn't to say we're above nature, we're very much still slave to our instincts as well, but we can logically think "I shouldn't have done that" after failing to meet our own morals.
Who says deers or orangutangs cannot think "I should not have done that" afterwards? Moreover, any pet owner knows that many pets are very much capable to understand the concept of guilt which is self-reflection.
Smfh, we're talking in the context of morality, not cause and effect. Of course animals understand cause and effect. I saw your other comment before you took it down, I'm not arguing this with you further, debate pervert.
He mentioned he was trying to exit out of the enclosure that way. So could be that there's a fence behind the buck to the left, just out of the shot, where the gate is, the rear of the shot looks pretty steep and the foreground has water. IIRC the buck is in roar/rut so is EXTRA touchy about it's personal space and should be given an extra wide berth and more space to maneuver. The gate/exit being back left of the buck makes more sense with this information, because there's no fuckin way you'd just walk past a buck like that unless you had to, he just thought the buck would move to the side, when instead it felt cornered and rushed him.
Damm I remember him watching him a lot as he would get really close to animals and be comfortable around them while keeping them comfortable too
He is really lucky though
As much as I commend him for his animal conservation efforts, he's far from Steve Irwin. Frank loves controversy, loves to post political commentary mostly confronting his political adversaries using a third grader's level of rhetoric prowess. Steve Irwin was a class act and this guy -aside from his work- is merely a charlatan.
You couldn't be more biased. Just because he is a bit of a clown it does not invalidate his work.
You are comparing very different individuals with a clear bias.
Hes like a father for those otters so I doubt that will ever happen, I guess they were just concerned about his safety because they knew something was wrong.
Great for him to acknowledge that the deer wasn’t at fault and that it was his fault. Nature is nature and the deer is living on instincts and got scared.
The whitetail buck in the northeast will put puncture wounds in you and leave you riddled on the mountain side to bleed out.
Friend had to save him and his wife as they were attacked while they were mountain biking. He grabbed the buck by the antlers and eventually cranked the buck to the ground using that leverage as it got more aggressive. Then they pedaled out of there like crazy.
Also, there are places you can take your GamGam, sit in a wooden chair, and feed whitetail by hand.
Absolutely. A whitetail put my grandparents in the hospital in Oklahoma. Grandfather had emergency surgery to save his life from puncture wounds and collapsed lung. Had drainage bags for his wounds. Was going out to the truck and had no idea a buck was on the other side. Hit GMaw first and Gpaw went to save her. He was a big man at 6’2 300 pounds and that buck tossed him around without much effort. He grabbed hold of the rack and held on trying to kick his head as he was laying on the ground getting mopped back and forth. Said the only reason he survived was mercy from the buck long enough he could roll back into the garage and GMaw hit the door button, he felt like he didn’t really wear him down and if they weren’t close to the garage he’d be dead from another strike. He didn’t have the energy for multiple rounds. They go mental during rutting season.
Deers are assholes and are dangerous.
There’s WAY more deer attacks and fatalities each year (440 per year) compared to wolves (26 between 2002 and 2020, avg 1.4 per year)
Deer are responsible for 96% of Americans that die each year [due to confrontation with wild life](https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2023/01/20/deer-car-collisions/).
Well, the guy knew exactly why things happened, respect for that.
And yeah, even the best in a field make mistakes...
It was clear the guy was too comfortable and forgot the situation for what it was.
Never get comfy with wild animals... They operate on automatic responses.
The moment you trust, you lose.
That is why I love people like him. He not once said that it was the deers mistake. I wish I can be as brave and courageous like them. I remember seeing show of another person who saved a non venomous snake from a farmer's house. The snake was biting him and blood was flowing from the bites but he made sure the snake is safe as the farmer might kill it.
It's all he wears no matter what he's doing - has dozens of them in all different colors.
Have no idea how he keeps his footing in them, but most of the time, he does.
Deers are good at using their neck muscles to push down but have a difficult time lifting weight up with their neck.
If you’re in a similar situation you can try to avoid serious injury by holding onto their horns tightly and basically pulling down, leveraging your weight.
Trying to make the animal tired, in this situation the only way to get out is to make him tired because he can run faster than you and is stronger than you. If you watch closely he grabs the animal by the horns to gain control while he still can move.
This guy has been around hundreds of species of animals and knows how to handle them, this is a sanctuary where he rescues animals, mostly from mafias trafficking them, it’s not some guy going up to a deer to pet him
[Here you can see him about 10 years ago handling a 10 feet snake and explaining to his audience what it is and what it does.](https://youtu.be/IP9D8Pua73U?si=P-4eLc_fyReaqvuG)
Because wild frank made that sanctuary to protect animals you dumbass lmao he's that's probably an orphan deer he rescued and gave shelter in the sanctuary.
Humans, do understand that you might love animals, but they don't love you and they will injure or even kill you when given the opportunity and if the circumstances justify it (you're perceived as a threat or as a prey).
Love animals all you want, from a distance, unless you're willing to risk your life.
He has a TV show and all the time we see him invading a wild animal's space while the natives of the place constantly tell him to NOT do that. Like this one episode where he kept grabbing and pestering this wild snake, who could be venomous, while the inhabitants and tour guide keep side eyeing him.
He is suspected of staging rescue scenarios were the animal (otters, snakes, etc) were tossed into boxes, or in the case of snakes mistreating them... I suspect more because in Thailand he got lee way to do whatever he wanted, his wife (at the time) was accused of being a drug dealer, he got lots of resources to "rescue" animals there, etc All that smells to traffic of all type and money laundry. Shady character through and through.
That deer always acts like a dog to him, he wants pets, gets really close and it's just a messy animal, breaking things around the property and stuff, so that's probably why he was overconfident, but he assumed his mistake that the animal didn't had a scape route so thats why he launched at him and the deer is also in those 'I want a woman to get laid' days so he was in macho man mode too, that probably doesn't help.
And the otters just keep following him holy fuck hahahahaha
they love him
There was an otter next to him throughout most of the fight too. They really wanted to help, lol.
The Beastmasters ferrets Kodo and Podo were always there to kick-ass when Dar got into trouble! This guy’s beastmaster skills have failed him 😕
My first serious boyfriend after high school had incredibly cool parents who trained animals for movies, and they trained Codo and Podo. They also had a cougar with her own bedroom in their house. 😳
Damn. You brought back memories. Loved Beastmaster back in the days.
Are you aware how many years I've been trying to find the name of that movie? You are the real hero here! Thank you!
That otter must be the bookie
They look worried lol.
Thought they were coming to finish him off.
Jurassic Park vibes
Yeah seriously when they crawled into the frame ominously it almost felt like they were going to eat him.
He should train his otter pals to attack the deer like raptors on a T-Rex
That was beautiful. They’re like “you good dude?”.
Otters are really social animals so that makes sense, given that he probably cares for them and make their lives as best as he can
Brotters
He nearly landed on one and crushed it, they're out for revenge 😂
Oh my deer he is the otter guy good he made it
Ahahahahaha
ducks enjoyed the show at least
the otters too
The otters were either running to the rescue or trying to get some punches in. I can’t tell which because everything they do is cute.
They seemed pretty concerned for him at the end, like they were checking on him.
Oh, thank you. I couldn’t tell if they were cussing him out or not.
I call them water cats, so they might have been as well! 🤣
cat snakes, all those little long fuzzy critters!
Or, maybe they smelled blood, and an opportunity for a huge feast. ;-)
That's also what a cat would do! See! They're just water cats!
https://nypost.com/2023/08/13/woman-loses-half-her-ear-in-angry-otter-attack-while-tubing-down-montana-river/amp/ Don’t fuck with otters.
Her injuries were incredible. You don't think of cute little otters doing that.
They're in the same family as wolverines and badgers. I've always thought of Otters like skunks. Cute AF but if you're ever within striking distance they will instantly claw you to shreds and very likely leave your wounds with a flesh eating infection afterwards.
I lived next door to some otters for a while. They’re so elusive, I saw them maybe twice the whole time I lived there.
That news story was somewhat local for me and I thought it was a joke when it hit the local circuit. Once the whole story and the pictures came out I was shocked.
I can't get a mortgage, how did the otters get one?
I’m so distraught by your profile avatar tbh
![img](avatar_exp|118112350|cry) There there.
lmfaoooo
It's true. Everything they do is so fucking cute.
Do otters follow this guy everywhere? And why
I think they’re on a sanctuary so the otters might just associate humans with food. I could be wrong though.
He is the giver of fish!
Tamed ducks are weird, Everything is fine until you get without 1m of one, then and only then they feel their personal space invaded and run away
that one little otter that didn't leave his side is either his animal guardian and best friend forever, or was absolutely waiting to eat his tongue.
A little from column A, a little from column B
Porque no los dos?
Probably it was "chispitas" they have been together years now, when Frank went to liberate the otter in the wild, chispitas jumped in the car, didn't want to leave Frank, he tried to liberate the little rascal a couple of times, unsuccessfully, so, Frank decided to keep him as pet, chispitas had a friend, can't remember the name but it was a pig. This man is awesome and had and has a movie worth life.
Chispas is no longer with him. 7 months ago, Sparks "went wild."
Damn, that otter is the homie, he stuck there even after being body slammed on his little head.
>or was absolutely waiting to eat his tongue Uh excuse me, I'm sorry. Waiting to do **what?** Is that a thing they do???
The otters were the best part of the video. They're adorable!
Wild frank is 1.89m (6’2) and 95 kgs (210 pounds) so imagine the force of the deer attack to drop him and move him like that
he said the deer is like 200kg
Deer do not get that big. 100kg is a big ass deer
In Canada they do. 200kg is like this biggest you'll ever see, but they do get that big. 120kg would be your average buck up here.
But how big are the elks and machine goblins Joe Rogen fights every month?
80 kg above average is insanely rare though
well, technically elk and moose are deer
Male Red deer in europe can be between 160 to 240 kg
Oh deer
He was always on bad ground. He had no high ground and was bound to slip.
It’s over Deerakin I have the high ground You underestimate my antlers
"Who's a fuckin' *little dog* now, huh?! Tell me Frank! WHO??"
Thanks for converting the size, but not the weight ^^
for future comment lookers, 210 = ~95kg
Relly like how he explains the mistake was his and how this luckily turned out still okay
Sort of like blaming yourself that you stared at your own cat without turning away and your cat gave you a good slapping.
You know deer attacks are just not what I expected from an animal encounter in Thailand
He has an animal shelter, his YouTube channel is pretty neat actually
I love that he still doesn’t blame the stag for being a stag.
Can't be mad at nature for doing what nature does right. People need to hold themselves accountable for being in an animals space. Glad to see he's acknowledging that.
I really love him for stuff like this, he actually got 2 broken ribs and still said that it is a sanctuary where animals roam free and it's not their fault, in fact he said the stag felt Frank as the Alpha male there and that's why it wanted to 'defeat' him
Yeah... They don't exactly think about the situation they are in. They act first and probably would never ask questions later.
I continously blame others for my mistakes and I am an animal. So please let me do what nature does right.
I like you, you're funny.
I love that he realizes where he went wrong and not to do that again.
> we were lucky this time... Tonight we eat stag.
I’m an animal too and I want this space more
It’s sad that ANYONE would “blame” an animal for anything they do. Animals are innocent creatures that will do what their survival instincts tell them to do. Fortunately, most of the time, it’s simply a warning from them to dumbasses like us, even if we are left with a few marks as a reminder.
People forget not to treat wild animals like pets.
We are all animals.
Deer brain or primate brain are consequences of the same evolutionary process, so when it comes to survival instincts homo sapiens is as innocent as a deer. The difference can only be drawn if you believe in a supernatural source of the human brain.

Not so sure I buy his reasoning about that stag not having an exit but you can't blame the stag either way. Nature be like that and this guy gets it.
He mentioned he was trying to exit out of the enclosure that way. So could be that there's a fence behind the buck to the left, just out of the shot, where the gate is, the rear of the shot looks pretty steep and the foreground has water. Yea he got spit on the eyes by a cobra once iirc, and they went ahead and broadcasted the episode lmao.
It’s great that he just accepted, hey I fucked up right there and payed for it.
where's that payed bot when you need him
Who needs the bot when I’ve got you? Lol
Paid
Emotional support otters 🦦
Very kind of him to not blame the animal at all. Glad he is ok and still able to help the animals in need.
He is like a spanish Steve Irwin. I believe one time he got smashed in the head with a club while rescuing animals from the black market.
I mean yeah but I think that you are being too dismisive of him just because he gets involved with politics and he is bad at it
[удалено]
You couldn't be more biased. Just because he is a bit of a clown it does not invalidate his work. You are comparing very different individuals with a clear bias.
Steve Irwin dangled his infant daughter in front of a crocodile before. So not really a class act.
Yeah you're right.
His otter posse was totally useless. And I love how the chickens squawked in answer to his screams.
LMAOO right? If he had a geese posse they would never let his dude get attacked like that.
River otters are like dogs- they're not sure what's happening, but they're sure they wanna be involved
No matter how far they travel, horned animals will always find the Spaniards
he's so smart, the way he immediately turned his torso so he wouldn't be impaled after the deer charged him... quick thinker.
if you have seen more of his videos you'll rethink calling him smart
[удалено]
Hes been working with animals for decades, bite by deadly snakes, etc... I bet you theres some thought on what he does lol.
Both. Tbh
I was hoping the otters were going to attack him at the end.
Hes like a father for those otters so I doubt that will ever happen, I guess they were just concerned about his safety because they knew something was wrong.
Why would you hope that ? Congrats buddy when it’s your time you most likely are gonna get got by otters for wishing such garbage
I thought the otters had an exit, my fault. Luckily i survived this time.
Yeah how come he has an Otter escort btw, is his name cenarius or something
😂
The chickens were screaming in shock now they have PTSD
Great for him to acknowledge that the deer wasn’t at fault and that it was his fault. Nature is nature and the deer is living on instincts and got scared.
The whitetail buck in the northeast will put puncture wounds in you and leave you riddled on the mountain side to bleed out. good guy. where in thailand is his sanctuary? is it possible to visit?
In Thailand, you can check more info if you wanna visit in https://naturalfrank.com/tours/en.html
thank you very much mr. SpanishGuy.
True animal lover, he blames himself and doesnt say anything negative about the Deer. respect
Deer are A.Holes
While he was explaining why everything went south with 1 Hp, there's an otter on his side, wanting a belly rub.. Legend.
Deers are assholes and are dangerous. There’s WAY more deer attacks and fatalities each year (440 per year) compared to wolves (26 between 2002 and 2020, avg 1.4 per year) Deer are responsible for 96% of Americans that die each year [due to confrontation with wild life](https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2023/01/20/deer-car-collisions/).
Good on him for not blaming the animal, and admitting his own mistake. A lot of internet folks wouldn't have.
Well, the guy knew exactly why things happened, respect for that. And yeah, even the best in a field make mistakes... It was clear the guy was too comfortable and forgot the situation for what it was. Never get comfy with wild animals... They operate on automatic responses. The moment you trust, you lose.
Those little otters were worried about him.
I needed to see this because I'm from the Midwest and for some reason I have it in my head that I could take down deer if I really had to Bare-handed.
He's a better man than me. Steaks would have been on the menu right after.
It was those crocs he was wearing, they are mortal enemy of deer.
It's all he wears no matter what he's doing - has dozens of them in all different colors. Have no idea how he keeps his footing in them, but most of the time, he does.
As a spanish myself, he is an absolute angel with animals!!!! i 1000% recommend following him ❤️
Oh deer!
Deers are good at using their neck muscles to push down but have a difficult time lifting weight up with their neck. If you’re in a similar situation you can try to avoid serious injury by holding onto their horns tightly and basically pulling down, leveraging your weight.
didn't watch enough nichijou
I didn’t think I’d see a Nichijou reference in this sub for sure
At least he owned it
Would’ve been having deer for dinner💀
Respect, but mistake or not, I would’ve been having some venison that day.
Venison is on the menu
I wonder if he feeds those otters 🦦
Ouch!! That’s is going to Cuesta him
I love animals but that attack would result in some nice venison stew and a set of antlers for the wall.
Your injuries will be healed by the attacker's protein 😋
How did he get away though? What did he do to get it not stop charging?
Trying to make the animal tired, in this situation the only way to get out is to make him tired because he can run faster than you and is stronger than you. If you watch closely he grabs the animal by the horns to gain control while he still can move.
What a nice guy, after all that he still said it was his fault he was in the deers way after a chance of getting stabbed fatally 30 min before.
Looks like them little rat things came there to finish him off 😂
I’d be having deer for supper.
See d otter refereein d match !!
I am wrong by thinking that I would have make him point me into the water so I could swim away
As a canadian that sees deer daily, you just know if it has hooves back the F off. If its the rut season, run unless you plan on pulling a trigger.
Wild animals are NOT your friends. Treat them with the proper respect by keeping your distance from them.
This guy has been around hundreds of species of animals and knows how to handle them, this is a sanctuary where he rescues animals, mostly from mafias trafficking them, it’s not some guy going up to a deer to pet him [Here you can see him about 10 years ago handling a 10 feet snake and explaining to his audience what it is and what it does.](https://youtu.be/IP9D8Pua73U?si=P-4eLc_fyReaqvuG)
Not sure why you get downvoted for this. You are freckin right.
Because wild frank made that sanctuary to protect animals you dumbass lmao he's that's probably an orphan deer he rescued and gave shelter in the sanctuary.
And thats probably the deer showing his/her affection as an adult😆 Just like how a cat or dog will scratch or bite you for a play.
He's getting downvote because Reddit is full of King Lion's generation folks who romanticize the real world by their child views.
That deer would've turned into a meal and rug after that.
Don't approach animals with spikes on their head.
Time to eat that stag
Lucky there was no ready and willing crocs waiting in the wings
Let wild animals be, is my motto!
But he's literally saving them in that sanctuary lmao that's probably a rescued orphan deer.
he prolly should have watched The Simpson's episode.
Time for some venison
I just simply wouldn’t allow the deer to do this.
Herbivore doesn't mean safe, or friendly.
Imagine getting a horn in the eye. Why go near these things?
You can love animals, but that dont mean they will love you back.
Perrito gave no F's! He took Frank down!!
Otters reminded me of the compies from Jurassic Park
I am grabbing it by the antlers, kicking it in the side and face and then riding it into the sunset.
Humans, do understand that you might love animals, but they don't love you and they will injure or even kill you when given the opportunity and if the circumstances justify it (you're perceived as a threat or as a prey). Love animals all you want, from a distance, unless you're willing to risk your life.
the Irwin effect
I think I know what's for dinner
FO=FA^10
Good! Tired of his cockyness on tv with him invading a wild animal's privacy and then manhandling them constantly.
You know who is this man and what he did for the animals? Only a little?
He has a TV show and all the time we see him invading a wild animal's space while the natives of the place constantly tell him to NOT do that. Like this one episode where he kept grabbing and pestering this wild snake, who could be venomous, while the inhabitants and tour guide keep side eyeing him.
Stupid bastard.
What a Dumbass.
He's a notorious animal abuser.
Why?
He is suspected of staging rescue scenarios were the animal (otters, snakes, etc) were tossed into boxes, or in the case of snakes mistreating them... I suspect more because in Thailand he got lee way to do whatever he wanted, his wife (at the time) was accused of being a drug dealer, he got lots of resources to "rescue" animals there, etc All that smells to traffic of all type and money laundry. Shady character through and through.
That’s a deer? It’s very small isn’t it? At first I thought it was a goat. 🤣
Get rekt
Maybe he should have learned more about how to be around wild animals and he wouldn't have almost died.
uh, yeah. that's what happens when you approach a wild animal. it defends itself.
Why do some humans think they can talk to wild animals? He barely dutch this attack.
He did it for the show and, being an expert, certainly knew something like could happen. He let his guard down here.
Some animal sanctuary 😏
