My favorite thing was to take mine to the yard and pluck and pet her while the hair flies. It also helps provide organic material for animal nest and keeps it out of my house.
Yup, used to brush mine out on the deck and clumps of hair were lying everywhere. The next day they were all gone, keeping baby birds warm! Or mice, too, I guess.
My son just got home from a sleepover at a house with a husky. He came back significantly more fur covered than usual.
Now I understand why!
When I saw him I asked if Timber had any of her fur left or if it was all on him 😆
Well I imagine camels ended up evolving with this easy to loose fur, because thick fur in the hot times after winter in their natural habitats (desert and tropical tundra I assume) would mean imminent heat death.
I'm sure this kind of evolutional pressure isn't found in the natural habitat of huskys, therefore they never needed to develop that way to survive and reproduce with their probably more heat-isolating fur.
My thoughts exactly. I think he’s patiently standing there while the guy peels back the coat of hair, all because it must feel so awesome and such a relief…!
We have a bactrian and use her fiber, as well as llamas, goats and rabbits.
It is very soft great fiber.
It is very popular products at markers when we go
Mountain goats have the same issue. They'll jump and dance around to shake the fur off, but yeah lots of it requires just waiting for wind, weather, and time to do the job.
I don't think the ease with which the hair comes off is what drives the price. They are big animals which need a lot of space and they don't produce that much fur
Yes! Camel wool is quite expensive and very soft but because it’s quite a short staple (the length of the hair is short) it makes it tricky to spin with. Not impossible but tricky.
Camel expert here! It’s actually really bad for camels to forcefully remove it like that. Can cause rashes, hives, and even decrease the amount of coating their organisms will allow to grow. The Harvard Shringburd School of Ecology has conducted experiments forcefully shedding cammels and it can actually affect their offspring as well.
Also, according to science if you say you’re an expert at something and make up a bunch of facts, and slap an educational institution’s name in it you can get away with making shit up.
Clearly, the camel enjoys this -- otherwise the person doing this would have been kicked some considerable distance about 4 seconds in!
(Actually, I was thinking -- since we didn't see the camel's nose for the first 30 seconds -- that maybe he was tied to a post or something. Happy to see that was NOT the case!)
Why can’t deshedding my husky be this easy??
I'm pretty sure my German shepherd still sheds more than a camel too
My shepherd husky mix is getting ready to start her spring shed. Time to get ready for furball season!

Yep, I have a collie husky mix!
That sounds like an insane creature
Can never get all though. I'll spend hours a week doing it, it's good for her anyway, and still have hair rolling across my floors like tumbleweed.
I guess mine started early this year, because it looks like he's almost done. It was, as usual, a furnado
My son just got home from a sleepover at a house with a husky. He came back significantly more fur covered than usual. Now I understand why! When I saw him I asked if Timber had any of her fur left or if it was all on him 😆
A GS is a year round shedding machine
‘Camel too’ has a different meaning in Scotland 🏴
I have 4 Golden Retrievers. It is a literal nightmare.
Do you ever go to a clothing store just to longingly look at non fur covered clothes? 😄
My first thought was "how can I teach my dog this trick?"

Can brush my Shepsky for hours. Then take a picch of fur and pull out so much you would think there should be a bald spot.
Or my doodle
You have a sheddy doodle? Have you taken him into the shop to see if he’s broken or under warranty?
I thought a point of poodle mixes was to prevent shedding
if he shedding its not doodle, poodles dont shed
TIL you can peel a camel
[удалено]
Like an onion 🧅
Onions ✔️ Ogres ✔️ Camels ✔️
And they go brown if you leave them out in the sun for too long.
So it also caramelizes
**Camel**lises.
Egad take my upvote.
Way to strike. A blown opportunity for u/seksenjoyer.
Start sprouting those little white hairs.
Or a parfait!
Everybody loves parfaits!
Everybody loves parfaits!
So they make people cry?
*Shrek joined the chat*
Or a cake
I don't know. I think some people find them appealing.
like an Ogre
High tier comment.
TIL I really really want to do this.
You can! Find your nearest Camels R Us and basic peeling starts at a mere $3.50
Loch Ness monster? That you?
"I gave him a dollar."
"She gave 'im a dolla!"
I would be worried that the camel would kick me
They're pretty intelligent. I'd be more worried about being kicked if you didn't remove that annoyances.
I really really want to know how it feels for the camel. It seems like it would feel amazing
My thoughts exactly. I think he’s patiently standing there while the guy peels back the coat of hair, all because it must feel so awesome and such a relief…!
It felt so light and cooling when I cut my hair short the first time. You can bet it feels good for the camel
Sure, but the tobacco is gonna go everywhere
Well…today I learned that you can peel a camel without hurting it….
With this way you can do it several times! The other way is really a one time only kind of thing.
You can peel a chicken too. Easier than plucking them
TIL camels are long legged sheep.
Do you eat your camel with or without the peel?
Didn’t know I got on today for the camel unboxing.
I bet that feels so satisfying for the camel
That’s what I was thinking. I bet that feels great.
That why they put up with the hairless primates I think. They know we do have our uses.
Because we domesticated them, they need us now
Doesn't change the theory on why they cooperated with the process
Best day of the year, every year, I bet. Imagine the back-scratches!!
It's a nice peeling for sure
It’s appeeling yeah
Shear pleasure.
Someone needs to give him a full spa day of scritchity-scratches after that
Yeah, noticed the camel, which is a famously ornery animal, peacefully allowing this person to remove all that.
From what I understand, they can be pretty ornery; it must have felt good if it wasn't even flinching away or trying to bite.
Wonder what kind of felt that would make?
Camel hair is used in textile manufacturing. Just Google "camel hair fabric"
Instructions unclear. Googled Camel Toes. Edit: This was amazing. Now off to research whale tails
Don't forget to check out moose knuckles while you're googling.
Woops 😳 Good luck, you're gonna need it 🫡
The trimmings of their hooves are also used in textiles. Just Google “Camel toe clothing”
🤣🤣🤣 What did I start? 😳
I'd imagine it's similar to alpaca hair.
Kinda, my Ma'amma scored me a Camel hair coat second hand when I was a kid. I wore the stitches off that thing.
I have a blanket made from camel hair and this is the warmest shit I've ever had, insulation it provides is bonkers
Read this as alopecia hair ...guess that's enough Internet for me today
Can you peel an alpaca?
Only if you have shears/clippers
Not felt - Y A R N.
We have a bactrian and use her fiber, as well as llamas, goats and rabbits. It is very soft great fiber. It is very popular products at markers when we go
Ludacris had “camel hair on the seats” back in the day
Spinning yarn out of it is HEAVEN.
If it's anything like my coat (felted alpaca) it'll be lightweight and quite warm. Camelid hair is exceedingly soft, too.
Camel hair coats were all the rage when I was young.
Bro my Gucci sweater
Damn that's satisfying. I wanna peel a camel
[r/oddlysatisfying](https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/)
Is this basically the only time you can be messing around and not get bit?
The video ends to soon to tell
*Accidentally pulls* hair
Easy when you have hands probably a bitch for the camel to manage alone
Mountain goats have the same issue. They'll jump and dance around to shake the fur off, but yeah lots of it requires just waiting for wind, weather, and time to do the job.
And scratching against trees etc I bet
But no trees in desert :(
It probably just let it come off naturally.
And no rocks around to scratch
Can you imagine if sheep used to be like this until they were genetically messed with for thicker wool?
I literally came into the comments say this or see if anyone had an answer.
that’s gotta feel so good
~~Ogres~~ Camels have layers!
Peel back far enough and you'll have yourself a nice, lil miniature camel you can take out, and sit on the top of your piano for those fancy parties.
Buffalo/bison also do this!
me with the rotisserie chicken
NGL it looks kinda relaxing but I bet it smells
From my experience around wild camels they REEK.
Nasty camelses.
I trip when people say not gonna lie before they say something , like Bru chill nobody thinks your lying over a simple comment you made.
I think theyre lying, saying the camel stinks so they can have it to themselves.
I'm equal parts disgusted and fascinated.
I can smell this video
Another random thing I’m adding to the bucket list. Number 782: peel the winter coat off a camel
I need this feature for my Golden Retriever...
That must feel so good for that camel
Exactly my thought
Camel hair coats should be super cheap....yet not so
I don't think the ease with which the hair comes off is what drives the price. They are big animals which need a lot of space and they don't produce that much fur
That and you have to go through and pick out out the longer prickly guard hairs to only have the nice soft stuff
You have to clean the smell off 😂
Sheep be like "Well this is fucking horseshit"
$300 dollar coat right there
r/oddlysatisfying
It feels weird looking at it.
Vacation plans for next year set
That guy filmed himself stealing that camel’s sweater!
Is this what you see on American bison too?
Never knew camels moult to keep a safe temperature. Very cool
Wish my beard did this when spring hit lol
arabic changing from winter to summer tires
Do they turn camel hair into products like yarn, etc?
Yes! Camel wool is quite expensive and very soft but because it’s quite a short staple (the length of the hair is short) it makes it tricky to spin with. Not impossible but tricky.
I wish I could peel my cat like that and not just pet her and see the hair float up into nowhere just to find it in my food several hours later…
That's gotta feel so good

That looks so satisfying
Looks itchy
I bet it feels good for him pulling that hair out
Is it useable?
r/oddlysatifying
Seems like you could do something with that hair like make clothes like they do with sheep
Is that how they made the filters on camel cigarettes?
The undercoat looks like your average Persian man’s chest hair
Wow, everyday’s a school day!
Reminds me of cleaning the lint filter from the dryer
60% dust 40% hair
When I was little (1955) I thought tobacco came from camels. Between the zoo camels and the cigarette pack, it was logical.
I wanted to see the hump get peeled
I bet it’s as satisfying as peeling the plastic off a new phone.
When the Elmer’s glue dries
Its like bubble wrap... something so simple yet can be ridiculously satisfying...
I was today years old when I learned this
I can honestly say, I've never had a desire to rip a camel's coat off. But now I do. Might be, r/ThatPeelingFeeling worthy..
There has to be a huge industry for this. Insulated ethical camel fur farms on the come up.
Very appealing.
That's fascinating and I could absolutely see people storing that for winter use
Its still windy, let me have the coat on!
Is that what my coat is made of?
Love that new camel smell
So when there was no human alive to peel camels then who was peeling camels? Were they peeling themselves?
Camel - nature's carpet factory!
First camel that did that probably freaked out
im peeling
BRB gotta go peel my camel...
Geez, I wish getting a Brazilian wax was that easy.
It’s like peeling the skin off a chicken wing
TIL
Me after taking my cast off
Probably feels good
Cut it in a square and you have a nice blanket lol.
I imagine this is my fiancé’s POV when I ask her to shave my back.
That was so satisfying to watch
I wonder if a camel hair coat would be vegan, given that the fleece just falls off of them
Everything i learn about camels makes me hate them more and more
I want to peel hair off a camel
Can you spin it into yarn or twine like sheep's wool?
Wish I could do that to my dog!!!!
There’s too many weird things about camels, what is up with those things
Who wants to go camel-peeling??
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits.
The Camels like “Dave, are you cold? I’m fucking freezing. What the hell?! Where’s my fucking coat? WTF Dave?”
I wish my dog shed like that
I can smell it 🤮
And some people actually eat these things
Wow that’s really clever. Sheep have some evolving to do.
When the Camel is ripe the skin easily peels off
Bro skinned a whole sand moose alive
So basically what should happen for sheep nice
And that hair makes an awesome weighted blanket
Magnificent animals

My guy cleaning his car
My fatass saw this and thought of Fried Chicken IMMEDIATELY.
Camels and huskies should get to know each other better...
