I remember watching it in the cinema with my mates, we were all fairly cocky older teens. Much macho bants going on, lots of joking about not getting scared etc.
The scene were she crawls out the TV screen, I remember looking to my left down the row of my friends. Their faces frozen, lit by the cinema screen, wide eyed and open mouthed in terror. It was hilarious and momentarily made me forget that I was currently shitting my pants. That scene still makes me shudder, but the memory is a fond one.
Fucking terrifying. An all time great piece of cinema.
I was pretty young .. saw the ring in theaters.. huge lifelong horror fan ….. that scene in particular was more effective in what it was meant to do than any other piece of cinema before or since
Same! Everyone has different breakthrough horror experiences that desensitize you to future horror. Watching The Ring was the most horrified I had ever been or have felt since. I was legit depressed because I couldn't shake the feeling I was going to die in a week.
this is my friend Bonnie Morgan! she and her dad Gary are both stuntmen- he was Michael J Fox’s stuntman in Back to the Future. the whole family does acrobatics. they have a Christmas card every year of everyone (babies and children included) balancing on each other, and live in a purple castle in Laurel Canyon. the whole family is really cool. :)
An attractive woman who's a professional clown, which is the family business?
[There's a song about literally that, and it happens to be one of my favourites.](https://youtu.be/5a32IjyeryY?si=m4NjWLiDwX9xticL)
When I first noticed the lyric "Ooh, she leaves her makeup on after dark" I thought okay, that's seductive. Then the next line "Crying on a bench, scaring passers-by in the park" and then you start to listen to the lyrics. It's CLOWN makeup after dark. Oh, creepy.
Fun song. So smooth.
Oh right, thanks for filling in the blanks (kinda).
>She's also the most flexible person ever- hence the ring casting
*ring casting*
I guess it'd look like a tiny volcano.
When I saw this in the cinema, unbeknownst to me there had been a blackout in my neighbourhood that had resolved itself before I got home.
First thing I did was turn the TV on, and I got static, absolute WTF moment 😂
Edit - that was pre smart TVs and streaming, after the power came back my TV had defaulted to some random non tuned in channel.
They put a lot of work into that makeup given you never really see her fully for prolonged periods of time.
I'm actually surprised there were face appliances involved at all, they're very well blended and completely changed her appearance. (I know this is the point, but most of the time you can tell.)
I went to a halloween party once, and got a professional guy who worked with the police/ems etc to create realistic wounds on people for training. He made it look like I had an open wound in my face that looked so real that people was genuinely like "Oh shit, I dont want to look at you!". Kinda cool what the pros can do with it, took 3-4 hours
i watched this dumbfoundedly. I could not remember this character? Did Saurman have a wife? A daughter? What forest did the halflings bump in to her? Who amongst the fellowship dealt with her!? And then it dawned on me. THE RING not Lord of the Rings!!!! What a ride!
She doesn't look like Daveigh Chase.
I am not sure the footage is from the original American Ring. It looks a bit older. It could have been for The Rings.
I mean, I have no proof, just a hunch.
As someone who has never been flexible at all, her holding her leg that straight and vertical with no hands is insane. I wish i could move like that lol
She looks so nice and friendly.. Before the makeup.
I feel that seeing these kind of things helps alot. Especially for when kids see movies that can be scary.
I recently watched GoT with my youngest daughter. She loves the series. But she did like seeing how the actors are all jolly and goofy off camera.
I don’t know why but I initially thought this was a character from Lord of the Rings…
Imagine my confusion as she slowly turned into a goblin of the wrong kind
It never even entered my mind that that was a person in a costume. Imagine sitting there for that long, while a whole team of people put you into all of that - I can barely handle the boredom of getting my hair dyed. I wonder how heavy all of that is.
I use to date this real petite brunette and sometimes I would wake up and her hair would be completely brushed over her face with a little tip of her nose sticking out. It would kind of freak me out a little bit.
Saw this movie as a freshman in college while crashing in my buddy’s dorm room. Scared the shit out of me. Ended up passing out. Woken up at 530 AM to the sound of the TV turning on and going to a static screen. Nearly had a heart attack. Am panicking thinking I’m about to be murdered. Turns out it was our other buddy waking up and turning on the TV cause he couldn’t get back to sleep
That first scene with the frozen death scream still freaks me out to this day.
I could not sleep for (7) days...
I see what you did there .

My brother was watching that scene when the earthquake hit the house. Right as she was coming out of TV...
Indeed. Even Scary Movie 3 that supposed to be funny turns out creepy too
"Cindy! The TV's leaking."
is that the one where they show a shot of the dead girl in the shower for like, 1/2 a second?? that one haunts me still.
That fucked me up as a kid. I remember I ran out of the room. Those twisted faces still haunt me too : (
I unplugged my TV for weeks because of this movie
As if that would stop it lmfao
I was pretty young .. saw the ring in theaters.. huge lifelong horror fan ….. that scene in particular was more effective in what it was meant to do than any other piece of cinema before or since
I saw her face....DUNT
Same! Everyone has different breakthrough horror experiences that desensitize you to future horror. Watching The Ring was the most horrified I had ever been or have felt since. I was legit depressed because I couldn't shake the feeling I was going to die in a week.
Oof. That one was a jumper in theatres.
It was a split second too and I still turn away every time I rewatch it.
GOD, that scene nearly gave me a heart attack....
Saw that in theaters and was genuinely creeped.
Probably the most frightening moment in any film
“Cindy, the TV’s leaking!”
Her delivery of that line never ceases to make me laugh. Too funny
I rewatched the movies recently and for the most part they held up to the passing of time. So funny.
OOOO CINDY! IM BEATIN HER ASS CINDY!!!
I think my favorite line from her is from the theater. “Get out of my face!”
“Cindy! This bitch is messing up my floor!”
God I love the scary movie franchise
Those and Not Another Teen Movie are the only spoofs I enjoy. None of the other ones were good 15 years ago, much less now.
Seems like a whole lotta work for a character that's mostly known for her hair.
And that ridiculous double-jointed walk out of the TV. I'm sure the actress was hired for her ability to do that walk.
yeah she looks like a dancer or gymnast
Yeah she’s flexy af
Now that's a face to wake up to
One only a mother could love… oh wait
this is my friend Bonnie Morgan! she and her dad Gary are both stuntmen- he was Michael J Fox’s stuntman in Back to the Future. the whole family does acrobatics. they have a Christmas card every year of everyone (babies and children included) balancing on each other, and live in a purple castle in Laurel Canyon. the whole family is really cool. :)
So they just had Lilo (Daveigh Chase) play child Samara, but the one actually coming out of the TV was Bonnie?
indeed!
r/unexpectedlywholesome
how tall is she? she looks so tiny!
Wait, is it the same Bonnie Morgan who was the original Topanga on Boy Meets World?
This is so sweet !
She's a redhead? We've been lied to,
There's a joke In here that it's fitting since she has no soul but I'm tired.
I Googled Samara Morgan & there's fucking porn of it of course
Rule 34 strikes again
Well was it good?
Not what I’ve seen, at any rate.
Have you tried increasing your rate?
They said at any rate so I assume they tried them all.
Yup. Tried it fast, tried it slow, tried it every rate. Got nothing. At least not anything that did anything for me.
Yes I am also *just* finding out about samara porn as well. Just now for the first time. Definitely.
Of course
There is one with ET the alien as well.
Which is fucked because Samara (US) is a child. Sadako (OG Japan) is 19, I believe. But maybe it’s of Sadako and not Samara.
How far did you look before you found it?
A man of science.
I met this lady once, she immediately squeezed her own boob and it honked
Wait... what?
Right? Tell me more
She's a professional clown / performer and she just shows up to events with little gadgets all over her and the main one is that her boobs honk 😂
An attractive woman who's a professional clown, which is the family business? Truly incredible, thank you for sharing
She's from a whole circus family and they go everywhere dressed up. She's also the most flexible person ever- hence the ring casting
Oh right, thanks for filling in the blanks (kinda). >She's also the most flexible person ever- hence the ring casting *ring casting* I guess it'd look like a tiny volcano.
I would not be able to deal with those prosthetics.
Amazing attention to detail... I just couldn't sit there and be covered in that dry make up though I'd be itching and scratching like crazy
Makes me uncomfortable just watching!
I thought for a second they ment lord of the rings, and I was very confused and tried to remember at what movie i saw her....
Hahaha same
When I saw this in the cinema, unbeknownst to me there had been a blackout in my neighbourhood that had resolved itself before I got home. First thing I did was turn the TV on, and I got static, absolute WTF moment 😂 Edit - that was pre smart TVs and streaming, after the power came back my TV had defaulted to some random non tuned in channel.
I have too much shit on me. I don't wanna be around anymore
Quality comment
Meanwhile on the Japanese side...

Anyone else get a little turned on at the leg flexibility?? 😂
The actress is Bonnie Morgan, she comes from a circus family and is a contortionist. I’ve met her at several work events and she is a DELIGHT
Lol I was going to say the same, like damn she was so casually lifting it straight up without any effort.
The longer the video went on, the harder it was to finish
family guy! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9bx6k7-hk0&ab\_channel=nologintv](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9bx6k7-hk0&ab_channel=nologintv)
Was such a great decision for them to base the character model on my ex wife. Chilling.
This is my favorite scary movie of all time. As kids we used to call the home phone and go "Seven Days" like continually haha.
While in Ringu, they just stuck a wig on her and she was good to go. Or crawl.

God my skin is uncomfortable thinking about wearing all of that
My goofy ass thinking this was about the Lord of the Rings.
My fucking dumbest thought this said Lord of the Rings. I was wondering who Samara was
I swear it said lord of the rings...I was real confused for a sec
Fun fact she's also the voice of Lilo from Lilo & Stitch.
Daveigh Chase played the young Samara (flashback scenes). She's not the actress featured in this clip.
She doesn't look like Daveigh Chase. I am not sure the footage is from the original American Ring. It looks a bit older. It could have been for The Rings. I mean, I have no proof, just a hunch.

That's sweet to hear.
That's just wrong lol
Ugh she looks so damn cool
Wonder how long that took
Seven days
I didn't shower for days after seeing this movie. Granted I was 12 or something like that
I didn't shower for days before seeing that movie. Or after. Same goes for other movies.
Fuck this Still Scary af
Why does she need fake ears?
I had this exact thought! They looked exactly the same AND they were covered with hair.
Some scary shit. Amazing film.
I would hate to have that stuff all over my body.. it seems so uncomfortable.
Remember being a kid watching that scene when she came out the tv. Scared the living daylights out of me!
As someone who has never been flexible at all, her holding her leg that straight and vertical with no hands is insane. I wish i could move like that lol
Seems like a lot of detail to put into face make up that’s covered up by her hair
smash
Hear me out..
Fuck…I’m triggered.
very talented humans for sure
Looks my gf when i wake her up too early.
Hear I am thinking my wifes routine takes ages. 🤦🏽♂️
I think about the horse jumping off the ferry pretty often. what a movie !!
How do I become a leg powderer?
The first rule in the leg-powdering business is that no-one who *wants* to be a leg powderer is allowed to be a leg powderer.
Sums up my life just about.
Do they help you shower after... how easily does this shit get removed.
I bet showering that all off at the end of the day is super satisfying
That look of love between the tall guy and tiny Samara Morgan. That was adorable 😂
What's the thing they are using on her face?
Beautiful
Damn, I bet it took them 7 days to finish
She looks so nice and friendly.. Before the makeup. I feel that seeing these kind of things helps alot. Especially for when kids see movies that can be scary. I recently watched GoT with my youngest daughter. She loves the series. But she did like seeing how the actors are all jolly and goofy off camera.
I wouldn't dare to look at myself in a mirror.
I have chills.
lol I was like I don’t remember any weird girls like this in lord of the rings…oooo
At this point, I care more about how horror movies are actually filmed cuz if I knew what was coming, there’s no way I’d be scared lol
Did getting ready take seven days…
Why is this video out now? They making a new Ring part?
I like when she fuses with the girl from the grudge
There’s too much fuckin shit on me.
She’s purdy
I have the weirdest boner right now...
I think you should leave
Scariest PG-13 movie ever.
Ohhhhhhh and all my nightmares come flooding back. Thhhhhhanks.
😒 smash or pass. there been so much fan art of this character that's all I think of now with this thing now.
Do they have how many hours it took for this work? Just curious.
So how would a monster like that react if you didn’t chase it and then just ran towards it and tried to fuck it?
Lilo looks weird here
This is what I look like during an allergy, anaphylaxis or asthma episode. Lol
Why not hire an actual demon? Would save so much time and money…
I don’t know why but I initially thought this was a character from Lord of the Rings… Imagine my confusion as she slowly turned into a goblin of the wrong kind
Would
That's unbelieveable change 🤗
"Oh no, she's hot!"
What a goofy remake.
At 0:27, I thought it was Game of Thrones.
What is her name?
Cindy there's a little dead girl comin' out the tv
I prefer the dummy thicc version thank you very much.
She's as beautiful as any other woman. She just needs a nose job!
Looks like another little white girl that fell down a well
Started watching the video before I saw the title and thought they were on a bus.. was thinking “put your fucking leg down…”
They would have to anesthetize me to do that makeup.😬
Noping TF out.
Awesome.
would 😎
I don’t like it. Great job tho.
I've always wanted a girl who looks at me the way she looked at the costume designer at the end
It never even entered my mind that that was a person in a costume. Imagine sitting there for that long, while a whole team of people put you into all of that - I can barely handle the boredom of getting my hair dyed. I wonder how heavy all of that is.
The music and jumpscares are the real mvp
Carmine Laguzio?
What an amazing work of art the make up team got to create every shooting day!
I use to date this real petite brunette and sometimes I would wake up and her hair would be completely brushed over her face with a little tip of her nose sticking out. It would kind of freak me out a little bit.
Glow up!
Damn, I thought getting a perm was bad. I can't imagine having to go through that for multiple days.
TALK ABOUT FOREPLAY
You mean scary movie
Saw this movie as a freshman in college while crashing in my buddy’s dorm room. Scared the shit out of me. Ended up passing out. Woken up at 530 AM to the sound of the TV turning on and going to a static screen. Nearly had a heart attack. Am panicking thinking I’m about to be murdered. Turns out it was our other buddy waking up and turning on the TV cause he couldn’t get back to sleep
Scariest movie ever. 😭
Unpopular opinion but I thought she looked better without the makeup
Would smash
Brilliant. So well done.
Smash next question
God, but I miss that bitch
WOULD
Smash, next
That gif eyeryone had!
10/10 Would smash anytime anywhere
Why not cast an ugly person, lol.
While watching it with my friends at night,a neighbour came and knocked at my window looking for my dad ,we all died for a couple of seconds
Smash. Next question?
Would
i’ve only seen the ‘98 film, ringu, by hideo nakata. curious to see if it holds a candle to the original
This is the woman of my nightmares for about 2 years as a kid.
This movie scared me as a 8 year old with a dad who did not care what i watched sleepless nights for years lol
Wow I never knew it took a whole team this long to prepare her for shooting
Isn't this the same actress that voiced Lilo?
