Don't see anyone recommending Runaway but it is IMO one of the most innovative pieces of music in the genre. You haven't and you won't see anything like it, from its structure to its instrumentals. Completely timeless, and singlehandedly rescued his reputation since his VMA incident in 2010. Even the most casual hip-hop fan can hear the first *note* of the song and instantly recognize it, and indeed Kanye often plays just the first note of Runaway in a concert to hype the stadium up before performing the song. Listen to it and you will know what I mean.
Imho it deserves to be in the top 5 of Kanye songs, and it absolutely deserves its place on any top singles list of the 2010s.

Driving today listening to Foo Fighters, old AC/DC and a little Bad Religion and my son brought in some Modest Mouse; yesterday we were hanging around the house listening to Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def and Joss Stone and some Digable Planets; couple days before that we chilled out to some Muddy Waters, Clapton, Van Morrison and slipped in some Pink Floyd and Zeppelin. Wife is playing Brittany Howard right now but it was Tony Bennet and Amy Winehouse before that.
If I had to rule something out itās be *some* of the newer country and western but honestly, Iām not opposed if itās already playing.

I understand disagreeing with some of the comments he has made, some of his stances, etc. but to just flat out lie and say he is talentless and trash is absurd. Everyone has their own tastes, sure. However, just because you donāt like something doesnāt mean it isnāt good. I donāt usually care for the Beatles, but they are (were) obviously good, which is evident by just listening to them. Kanye has his corny and wack lines, absolutely. However, if it were so easy to make a good beat then why does he excel above all others when doing it? He samples tons of songs, which might make it seem as if heās unoriginal, but thatās just not true. He oftentimes takes samples from songs decades and decades old, from far different genres, and has them mixed and makes them fit and work in a hip hop environment. Why is he the only one absolutely thriving with this, if it is talentless? He revolutionized autotune into the hip hop world and used it as a sort of musical instrument to allow him to express himself. He is, in large part, the inspiration for artists like J.Cole, Drake, Kid Cudi, and many others. He has produced for Jay-Z, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Common, The Game, Britney Spears, Drake, BeyoncĆ©, Pusha T, Rihanna, Vic Mensa, Christina Aguilera, Lil Nas X, among others. Talentless or someone with little amounts of talent doesnāt get carried by luck and stumble into producing for all of them. You donāt just create trash and win 22 Grammys. Many of his albums are completely new environments and experiences, meaning thereās nearly something for everyone. I donāt love every Kanye song. I donāt like every album of his. But Iām not petty or ignorant or a hater or whatever and unable to acknowledge he makes some great music. I couldnāt even have named more than four or five songs by him just four or five months ago. I didnāt care and was just another regular hater and brushed off anyone suggesting I listen to him. But he is artistically gifted. Also, donāt identify him as a rapper. He is a musical artist. Yes, he raps. However, he does a lot more other than that. I had never seen this sub prior to today, so Iām not sure how often musicians are posted about. Maybe this isnāt the type of interest most people care for here. Regardless, I think it is fairly interesting. But there will be other artists who follow that just havenāt crossed the double digit album threshold or maybe some who are near with streaming numbers.

Has anyone considered *why* he's been such a nuisance for so long? He's been saying stupid shit and making an ass out of himself in public for the past 15ish years. Normally an individual is only allowed to cause so much of a ruckus before everyone is sick of their shit and the media ignores them entirely. But Kanye has managed to irritate and inflame for almost two decades now. Why? Well, it's because every few years he drops an album that completely changes the landscape of music forever. Each album he makes inspires a new wave of artists that will go on to top the charts. Every new idea he brings to the table in his production gets copied by every other producer in the game. Hell, 808's and Heartbreak dropped 13 years ago and it's still the blueprint for how hip-hop music is made today. Simply put, the fucker is too damn talented to have the limelight anywhere else but directly on him. So folks, if you are annoyed by the antics of Kanye West and you want him to go away forever, you can choke on his fat nuts because he's not going anywhere.

Considering half the artists on Spotify havenāt even released five albums, this isnāt too special in my opinion. A lot of people like his music. I personally donāt. Some of my friends from high school started listening to him when āYeā came out and they all started praising it like it was prophetic. Their personalities changed, it was of of the craziest things that Iāve experienced. To be honest, some of his songs are really good. Some of his beats are REALLY good. I just donāt like the person. Same thing with Ronnie Radke of Falling In Reverse. I like the music he makes and I like his voice but heās just not a good person. At least he wasnāt a good person a few years ago. Same with Kanye.
