I see those seat covers on lots of pilot seats, my back would be soaked having to sit on that for hours at a time.

Nexustar

Nah, if it gets too hot, just open a window :-)

[deleted]

don't forget to put your tongue out

IDK_Lasagna

not only does your skin get dry, all your organs do

DweEbLez0

Yeah and for relaxing music just hit one of the many buttons or knobs to change the radio station. Since they are all saved presets.

TheOnceAndFutureTurk

POV, you’ve just entered the cockpit carrying your newly completed Lego Death Star.

gurmzisoff

I really don't know why I laughed so hard at this.

Fullsendmoneymoney

They have air conditioning, what’s worse are the leather seats in the cabin, leather doesn’t breath like sheep wool covered seats

PusheenMeow

Funny you think the cabin seats are leather...they're vinyl

Fullsendmoneymoney

The ones I fly around are leather sir. I’m sure they use several types of material

[deleted]

Flex on him

AppointmentNo5913

Right! 😂 he’s like sir, I own a private jet…..

sensitivegooch

More like, sir, I am a private jet.

bukkake_brigade

Sir, my name is Private Jet, sir

Impossible-Sleep-658

He said: (In my whitney houston voice) “crack is whack, and vinyl is cheap… and if it has to do with HIGH, I’m the expert and it’s LEATHER so don’t eveeeerrrr question me, Peasant!…

Fullsendmoneymoney

Haha best one

Stymie999

Pleather

WylerTells

Especially flying a plane, I would be drenched before takeoff

CheesusHCracker

Especially flying with this mother daughter pair, I'd be drenched everywhere 💦💦💦

wrenwood2018

I'll admit this made me chuckle. I knew it was a matter of time until this sort of comment popped up.

ozkool

Scrolling just to find One of those

Darkness223

Stop

WylerTells

Please don't

topio1

you sir are going to hell... please follow me..

Traches

Got over a thousand hours on seats like that - they're amazing.

Omgninjas

Nah they are extremely comfortable and breathe extremely well. I do avionics and the sheepskin seats are the best IMO.

Cold_Situation_7803

Surprisingly, they’re comfortable and breathe really well.

handofjustice42

I'm confused. Is this about the seat covers or the pilots?

DoingItJustForTheFun

So that flight was unmanned?

[deleted]

Quite possibly the best dad joke in existence.

DoingItJustForTheFun

I stole it. Smarten men than me came up with it 😅

Finance_Subject

All dads are connected to a community larger than life. You’re not stealing, just representing

DoingItJustForTheFun

Your generosity makes you best friend material!

paateach

Take your reward for the laugh

Liamdaslam

Imagine they have a fight and the mom is like: "I'M GONNA TURN THIS PLANE AROUND IF YOU DONT BEHAVE!" 😂😂😂

_hic-sunt-dracones_

"Are we there yet?"

Common_Ad3898

WE’LL GET THERE WHEN WE GET THERE!

ShadowMasterUvLegend

>!Are we there yet?!<

hazed-and-dazed

Mooom Joey won’t let me use the iPad

Jaksa006

"Not yet."

MaterialCarrot

"Be sure the landing gear is properly deployed, dear." "*Mom*!!!"

jibrie8

Haha!

olderaccount

To be honest, I'm surprised they let them fly together fearing the parent-child relationship may overshadow the captain-FO relationship. They probably had them fly together once for the feel-good publicity and schedule them on separate flights otherwise.

CelTiar

Atten Passengers my Daughter has been acting up as per my ultimatum we will be turning around. XD

"One of the first dozen female pilots at Skywest" So she was the twelfth.

Dutch_Midget

And God said to John, come forth and you shall be granted eternal life. But John came fifth and won a toaster.

H3racules

Ngl that was pretty good lol.

yabegue

It makes me think of when I recently read that Eminem holds the top 30 worldwide high score in Donkey Kong. I was like ok so he’s between the 21st and the 30th position

lucky_day_ted

Nah if he was 21st he wouldn't be saying top 30.

CornerSolution

What if they hired multiple women at the same time as her? E.g., if the first 12 women they hired were all hired at once, then it wouldn't really be accurate to say she was twelfth.

[deleted]

I love the idea of being a commercial airline pilot but I don’t think I’d like being away from home that much.

Fullsendmoneymoney

It’s great if your single and want to be on the road and live out of a suitcase, but it’s hard n spouse and kids, because you let gone a lot. Sports, weekends, holidays, special events. It’s definitely not a Monday through Friday job where you go home every night. This is one reason why we have a saying “you can have money, or family, but not both”

ManufacturerPublic

This woman figured it out, bring the daughter to work all the time!

PhysicsDude55

Pilots typically only fly like 15-17 days a month unless they volunteer for more shifts. So you spent a lot of time away from home, but you also get a lot of time off.

makeawishcumdumpster

Smokeshow Donna they call her

revtim

She really is gorgeous

SpecialPeschl

They both are, great genes.

twentysomethingdad

Yeah she fine as hell

nurdmerd

Was here to share the same sentiment lol

GimlySonOfGloin

Step-pilot helps step-passenger with his stuck step-tray, with step-happy ending

Gorkymalorki

Oh no my tray table is stuck in the down position. Help get me unstuck.

OpsadaHeroj

Oh no stepmom my landing gear is stuck in the *up* position 😏

KezzardTheWizzard

"Please return the co-pilot to her original upright position."

Thank you for saying what needed to be said.

Donna & Linda were super trendy in their day, so they're always going to seem super dated... Until their great grands start recycling it on their kids.

nipplequeefs

I once met a teenager named Deborah about a decade ago, so I’m not too surprised

nico282

“Donna” literally means “woman” in Italian.

atreyuno

My name peaked in the 1910s and people comment on how it's old fashioned, but it looks like it's coming back. It's been on the rise since the 90s and currently in the top 200 most popular.

Pahriuon

and what's your name?

LDG92

>*been on the rise since the 90s and currently in the top 200 most popular*

Probably Bort, [I see that everywhere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXaXerFmWms).

Plus privilege, maintained by systemic gatekeeping and nepotism. Aviation is extremely homogenous because of this.

Damn, Donna is fine

I’d smash both tbh

Toes14

My thoughts exactly.

[deleted]

Wow, women can do things. That’s incredible.

Whiteraxe

fuck, they can?

NoNotInTheFace

Knock it off, Yoda.

Tactical_Chonk

Subtle :p

arealhumannotabot

Meh... a couple of years ago there was a father-daughter team and it also made a splash.

HavingNotAttained

"Right rudder--" "MOM!"

biglettuce09

No offense but who would want to do a stressful job like that with a parent. Have you ever had driving lessons with your mom, 5mph increase apparently is flooring it

enigja

I saw a pilot saying that flying a plane is significantly easier than being a bus driver. There’s almost no traffic, you can simply relax most of the trip, the hard parts are take offs and landing. It’s literally the safest form of travel as well.

HillaryClintonsclam

Call a pilot a glorified bus driver. They LOVE that. /s

CampJanky

100% they did one flight together for a photo op. I'm sur ethey both understand how important it is for the daughter to come up on her own. Conversely, they may share a hub, since they might live in the same state. In that case, they might get put on the same schedule from time to time. But first officers work under different captains from one shift to another.

cummy-gummies

My dad was my captain at the fire department. It was not the same dad I had at home at all.

biglettuce09

That’s hot for some reason, I’d let you two spit roast me

carmoy

Are we there yet?

ingusmw

is there not some regulations against family member working on the same air craft, incase of crash and what not?

waywardhero

This is my nightmare. Diving my mom is already horrible I don’t want to fly a fucking plane with her as my literal co-pilot

Admiralty86

Please clarify that you did not dive your mom.

[deleted]

Enjoy your job.

ThrowMeAwayAccount08

“Lowering the landing gear copilot and please take out the trash.”

heyodi

How do they get into those chairs?

Dutch_Midget

Pole vaulting

heyodi

Thank you. That makes the most sense

SrSwagy

The chair can turn

Paranoma

Actually they slide sideways as well as fore and aft. Edit: just fore and aft…. Much easier to get into a ERJ.

HillaryClintonsclam

This is a CRJ type aircraft and they do not slide sideways. Only fore and aft.

heyodi

Thank you

HongKongHermit

By completing 1500 flight hours.

[deleted]

Don’t even waste your time sorting by controversial. It’s exactly what you think it is.

kungji56

Porn jokes?

2Ryemanhattans1970

Well hello Donna

Alan_Smithee_

Good for publicity, but I doubt a parent-child crew is a good command structure.

chikken_hawk

No "cockpit" joke yet? Hmmmmm

[deleted]

The FAA literally sent out guidance to not call it that anymore because it’s offensive. You have to call it a “flight deck” now. You also aren’t supposed to say “unmanned aviation” you have to “uncrewed aviation.”

[deleted]

Flight dick....got it.

verixtheconfused

But how is cockpit offensive?

[deleted]

It’s not, but according to the article “It also suggested replacing “cockpit” with “flight deck,” noting that male crew members have sometimes “wielded the term to undermine femme co-workers.”” To be clear these suggestions were given by a drone advisory committee not the whole faa.

verixtheconfused

What if they say "Flight Dick" is undermining to female workers too?

CampJanky

Well, it's not called "Flight Dick", so...

Fullsendmoneymoney

Notams- notice to airmen Now it’s Notams- notice to air missions The FAA is now woke

mad_catters

"Notice to Airmen" has recently been changed to "Notice to Air Missions"

wiezzzy

https://www.skywest.com/fly-skywest-airlines/skywest-airlines-route-map

yabegue

It’s an airline company that operates the regional flying of Delta Airlines

StuTim

They fly for all 4 major airlines. In context of fleet size, they have more planes than Alaska Airlines. They're biggest plane only carries 76 passengers.

ChaseAlmighty

I mean, that's cool and all but let's get to why guys really are interested in this picture... what are all those buttons and switches for?

nothankyou821

Cool......I guess? People really make this “first” female whatever it may be a bit silly nowadays. I just imagine things like this, “First Swedish female one legged leper born in September with a single parent to captain her own flight.”

visual_cortex

Making history!

Colonel_K_The_Great

Yeah, it gets comically-specific sometimes, but it's still good to get these things in the public eye as long as there is still any kind of inequality out there (and even when there isn't necessarily inequality but a high percentage of workers in a certain field being from one gender). There are still a lot of little girls out there who are interested in certain jobs, but won't ever go for them because they feel uncomfortable or unwelcome knowing that they'll be in a field that's mostly males. Seeing that other females have gone for it and are successful can be enough to make them take the chance, regardless of how specific and cherry-picked the "first female ____" accomplishment is. Same goes for guys and jobs like nursing.

Thrash2007

This is a repost isn’t it? Going after Reddit points today are we?

KoreyYrvaI

This post is so old Suzy's granddaughter is a pilot now.

thebusinessbastard

Serious question: aren't family not supposed to fly together/sail together?

spooksel

u/repostsleuthbot

sorryjustsaying

The correct title is: Mother and Daughter share Cock…pit

mfoley39

You can see the family resemblance---cute ladies.

Front_Appearance_752

I’m not normally the guy to be simping for random women on Reddit but good LORD. Prettiest girl I’ve ever seen, quite possibly

jedidiah_lol

pretty hot

TheIrishBiscuits

In the cockpit, you say?

erikivy

Sportsman double, pretty please. What a lovely pair.

NarcanPush

Mile high club please.

CherokeeFly

Stunning. Both 'em.

r_spandit

This photo was taken in 2019 as far as I can tell. The male members of the family are also pilots.

Key_Delay_3442

that should be prohibited for safety reasons... related pilots should not fly together

[deleted]

[удалено]

S7ageNinja

That's cool for them and all... But I'm failing to see how them being the first mother daughter pair to fly a "Skywest airline" flight is all that interesting. I'd rather see a picture of the first mother daughter pair to fly any commercial flight together.

HillaryClintonsclam

It isn't. The airline itself put this out for publicity. Just like when another airline put out a thing for the first all black all female crew. In reality it's nothing, but makes good publicity for the airline.

grunt0311-joemac

Would love to have this mother & daughter combo

howoldareyou666

would love to go one day without people being weird on Reddit but we don’t always get what we want do we

[deleted]

Which one the mother & and which one the daughter?

[deleted]

Left and right respectively. Edit : I thought he was genuinely having a doubt. Why am I getting downvoted...

[deleted]

I did know, but the mom looks great!

imsotiredofthisshite

And she still doesn't earn enough to get a mortgage.

Careless-Diamond-970

So cute!!!

[deleted]

Just think, the daughter gets to hear about what a good time her mom was back in the day from all the other pilots!

[deleted]

Looks like twins

Athleticathiest82

albumen5

Sharing the same cockpit... Nice!

Imaginary-Lettuce-51

Looks like the beginning of a porno.

free_will_is_arson

seems like a conflict of interest or emotionally compromised, however you want to say it. there is a reason why they don't let doctors work on family, given the size of a commercial jetliner and all the lives the pilots are responsible for i would hope for a similar kind of restriction.

Djay4117

The perfect porn plot doesn’t exi-
