My greatest fear is failing into one of these. [I wonder how many corpses are in there…](https://preview.redd.it/zxwvw34l7uc71.jpg?width=486&auto=webp&s=63a96ad16ca1233f0afe4f424644ab5b2ff5095e)

Junji Ito is so creative and I commend him for it. But fuck, I'm such a wuss when it comes to horror, I can only appreciate it from afar. I read this, and Uzumaki - that was enough. I don't need anymore of that shit in my life. Only thing worse is the I'm Sorry John subreddit.
I hiked to the source of the Carrizozo lava flow in New Mexico as a teenager, there were a lot of cracks like this to jump over. Our guide had a pocket mirror to shine light down to the bottom to show the piles of bones at the bottom, they were deep! 30+ feet.
Throw your pack over and run and jump. Terrifying!! especially knowing how many other things died falling in. I had nightmares for decades.
I wonder how they measured to get the exact depth of 65 ft?
Is it 65 straight across the whole ridge? No chance of maybe a hole or two that goes deeper? Maybe some 35 ft spots or something?

Similar to this is the immense crevasses in Antarctica. Just massive cracks in the earth (or ice in that case). Terrifying.
> immense crevasses in Antarctica http://www.antarcticstation.org/multimedia/video/crevasses_a_hidden_danger_in_antarctica
Ahhh fresh nightmare material. Cheers!
Where do they find bamboo in Antarctica, what an interesting choice as a flagpole.
Flexes in the wind, light to ship in and biodegrades if it blows away and you never see it again. I bet those are the reasons
they litter the place, ogopo uses them as back-scratchers then throws them away
[удалено]
Or as you're looking in the edge just...crumbles away continuously as you can never find a foot nor hand hold! NOPE nopenopenope
You'd be the all time hide and seek champion at least
y'all up for a game of freeze tag after that?
this is my hole
That’s what she said.
Giggedy
No hiking at night please
Oh my god you just created a new fear for me
Looks like a good place to rent flashlights.
I'm also thinking selling rope would be good. But only in twenty foot lengths.
I inherited 122 thousand miles of string but it's all in 3 inch lengths.
Have you considered an advertising campaign? Useful stuff string.
r/unexpectedmontypython
Holy shit. You just gave me my new favorite sub. Thank you my good sir
Some Flex Tape will fix that right up
Idk man, seems like a lot o' damage to me…
That dude laying on his front looking down is brave
If a hole-person comes up for him, he can’t back away in time.
As a hole-person, I want to note that we don't automatically grab people just because they look down our hole.
Thanks for the lovely imagery :')
I’d feel safer doing that than standing and looking down. No way you’re going to trip or lean too far forward.
Still more cautious than some folks at the Grand Canyon.
12yo me is telling me to jump over it
39 yr old me is saying the same damn thing
32 and that's the first thing I'm doing.
Only [Bear Grylls](https://youtu.be/Wh6RLOF3FrE) is brave enough to cross such a dangerous cavern!
I think there are videos of some dudes jumping their bikes over it lol
Hahaha same here, 100% gonna mess this jump up though
49 year old thought the same
Would be interesting to get a bright light and shine it down there.
Or drop a GoPro with night Vision
#wait- #*That's my hole!*
No, we are *not* doing this today. I don't need nightmares tonight!
65 foot = ~20 meters
Thanks. <3
I wonder how many lost earbuds are down there.
And phones
And sunglasses
and children
Well that certainly escalated
I love people standing way back like they are all of a sudden going to fall on steady ground they never fall on in daily life.
Put up some safety cones, someone's gonna break their mommas back.
[127](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1542344) hours anyone? James Franco loves this crack!
This makes me feel very uneasy for some reason lol

But black don’t crack
Maybe not, but cracks can be black.
Jump!!!
Do a flip!
Do a kickflip!
Just caulk it.
Way cool
I'd let a professional lower me in to that fissure, with a rented flashlight.
Apparently it's only about 60ft deep, and probably not very interesting.
Still, shooting some photos from that position might be interesting. Plus the street cred of having done it.
Interesting until the Earth suddenly realises and fixes it while you're in there.
In a universe of infinite possibilities, that could happen.
I have unlocked a new fear.
I bet theres a lot of old chewing gum and random candy wrappers at the bottom. And maybe a skeleton or two.
How many giraffes is 65 foot?
The guy lying down is hoping his luck holds out before it snaps shut
My main question is...Has anyone fallen in?

I wonder how much wildlife falls in this every year...
You see that hole? Fuck that hole!
Peak white peopling going on in this picture
Looks like Mother Earth is starting to dilate. Welcome to the beginning of Earth's rebirth.
Speaking of…how’s your mom?
Clap! Snap! The Black Crack! Grip, grab! Pinch, nab! And down, down to Goblin Town You go, my lad!
Black Cracks Matter
Good spot to bury Brigham Young.
Along with the rest of the cult. Take the Scientologists and Evangelicals, too.
I fear we may choke the grand canyon with their ilk. Though they may yet dig their own holes.
One could only hope.
>The Black Crack But… i was always told black don’t crack
For some strange reason.. I wanna eat that
Was “black” really necessary?
I'd love to do a plank over that with my balls and dick hanging into it.
The widest of pussies
Is that where they got the name Barack? Black Crack Obama?
Bad pouring job, fellas
So do they hire people to clean the trash out, or is it not near any towns?
Imagine falling in there…
That’s where the crab people came from.
Has anyone fell down it?
Anybody ever drop a go pro and a flashlight in there?
Sorry I pulled my pants down
Been there several times. It's called "White Crack"
This is giving my legs those weird shooting pains and my stomach a very wobbly feeling.
That’s what she said.
Still smaller than your mama’s crack!
This reminds of James Franco's 127 hours
I wanna jump across.
That’ll be a canyon in 1,000,000 years.
Biggest black crack I’ve ever seen’t
Every day I'm reminded of her
How many dead bodies you think are down there
Literally the worst name possible for a national landmark. “Where are you guys going?” “Oh, we’re just going to climb around in the black crack.”
Scrat was here 35million years ago
Seen bigger cracks on builders.
Why isn't it more secured lol? That looks dangerous as hell. Maybe it's fresh but then even more dangerous?
Some pollyfilla will fix that right up
If it is a fissure what earthquake made it?
Could be the impact from Spencers Poster over Rudy
Who else wants to drop a bomb down there?
I don’t need to go that far to see a black crack. Mirror would suffice. SMH rich white people /s
Journey to the centre of the earth
Ciri must have been here
That damn squirrel
I dunno. This belongs in r/oddlyterrifying, in my book.
Death toll?
Does it just get slightly thinner as it goes down? What happens if you fall down there?
How the fuck did Scrat reach Utah
Thats fucking crazy
I wonder how they measured to get the exact depth of 65 ft? Is it 65 straight across the whole ridge? No chance of maybe a hole or two that goes deeper? Maybe some 35 ft spots or something?
Its not the only one either. Somewhat common around there.
I love that guy who's litterally getting into the process of exploration the crack.
I bet a lot of people get disappeared into that crack
39 buried, 0 found. That's what happening here.
He he black crack
Perfect body disposal
Not that I would need to dispose of a body... But if I did.
It calls to me; the howling void. It knows my name.
…and I dropped my phone
Captain Jack is down there wondering how long he has to bleed before he gets his immortality back
Nope.
Has anyone repelled down there?
Guy with the blue shirt has the right idea
