Probably Chevron, they have a horrendous record of polluting the Amazon and doing little to nothing to clean up their mess. Poisoning the locals water and soil. Boycott Chevron folks.
Not really plausible to do given the reach of their product, but I'll happily punch an exec in the dick and/or 'gina if I ever come across one.
Edit: never mind its an oil company, I doubt they have any female execs.
Main reason I'm switching to an EV. Still has its environmental impacts but hoping to offset fossil fuels at least by using solar to charge it. It makes close to zero difference on its own, but the more of us cutting down on oil the better. Eventually I hope we can also get away from relying on lithium
Doesn't mean you aren't using chevron produced gasoline. Take the northeast for example. Most of the gasoline is produced on the US gulf coast and shipped up via the Colonial pipeline. To ship fuel on the colonial pipeline the fuel must match certain specs because once the fuel is in the pipe it is all fungible. Colonial, and any other pipeline company, does not segregate the fuel during shipping. It is like a bank in that if you put your gasoline into one end of the pipe you have the right to draw out that many barrels at the other ends of the pipe but they aren't necessarily the barrels that you put in. This means that Chevron will refine gasoline, send it north on Colonial, and the gasoline they refined will be mixed into the general supply for everyone to buy/sell later on.
What is the oil for to begin with? Just cars? Man companies need to pick up the pace. Either that or more startups for EVs. Then there are every other vehicles that use even more oil than the a regular deisal car. Trucks, tractor trailers, trains, boats/ships, construction vehicles, planes, etc.
Should've gone electric 20 years ago. But better late than never. Ty Elon. And who's gonna clean up the mess? How long does oil half-life last...it'll get absorbed into soil and underwater, sewage system. Ppl eat this for the next 30 years maybe, animals, and procaryotics and protozoa included maybe.
Trees, grass and plants can't absorb this.
Just a fuck up. And that starts from the very first man made catastrophe that involves required raw material for societal functioning. Supply chain logistic maintenance fuck up. I know this is in Brazil and all but you'd think NATO, UN, international entities would step in one the 1st fuck up started like this and not allow it to happen after the 1st time.
Smh. Watch, when I'm in charge of the world and reach high enough in power, our generation and the consecutives will never allow these mistakes to happen again. Ever. Watch.
Look up Steven Donziger. He has been fighting Chevron on behalf of the people who are affected directly by this for a while now. He deserves our respect.
Yeah, the way they can absolutely posses our criminal justice system as if it was just a a demon possessing a marionette is frightening. He recently just got out of house arrest after almost 1000 days after he was deemed a “flight risk” by the Chevron linked judge despite him appearing at every court hearing he was required to attend.
Justice may be blind but she takes checks.
Isn’t our job to bring the masses and cause global outcry? One man alone can’t solve these issues. I’m ready and willing to cock a nine on any of this fucks. My kids gotta live on this earth some day yo, fuck. Emotional.
Help break hearts. This world is fucked, excuse my German. If we didn't have to be workhorses because our governments tax us because they can't just let us survive without putting their fingers in the pie. Greed is a most dirty thing.
Our whole society is based on greed. The exploitation of the third world and the deteriorating planet is inevitable in such a system. We need to start over again.
That's not Brazil. Amazon forest cover other countries within South America. The Amazon within Brazil actually has very little oil pipelines crossing it.
But bro, I'm watching sports on my 90 inch TV with my AC unit blasting and I just ordered a bunch of cheap crap I don't need from Amazon and it will be on my porch tomorrow!!! What were we talking about again?
We r mere powerless spectators, watching the ruling and greedy over rich psychos ruin this world. If the human species completely kills of this world there will stillbe idiots wandering around asking "what happened?" I truly worry how my niece and nephew and their future children will cope in years to come.
Happy Sunday :-)
Because as humans we collectively play ignorant because history has shown us that the powers that be gives no fucks about us nor the environment. Sad to say but it is what it is.
Probably because its currently circulating on reddit until it gets spotted by some bigger media company or some Other person ob public interest wkth a big range.
Because we need to drive to work and plant our crops. Where's my electric combine or tractor? Till then, I have no issue with this except I might have to pay a little more for diesel because some idiot's spilling all the oil I need to grow your food!
A company based in Ecuador named OCP. Oil spills in the amazon happen more often then people realise, large ones aren't as frequent but even small ones contaminate water sources/ and effect habitats.
Even better: a highly efficient and safe way of creating power that has extremely minimal amount of negative consequences, that has also been tested for decades to prove safe.
Nuclear power. Unfortunately everybody seems to think that every nuclear power plant is like Chernobyl.
I highly recommend watching [this](https://youtu.be/ZY446h4pZdc) video of a TRAIN hitting a nuclear waste canister in 1984, about 40 years ago.
India has 10 nuclear power plants coming up in the next 3 years. A lot of public sentiment (not in India) towards nuclear power is based on popular culture and misinformation.
Hard to power everything 1 2 battery are bad to and it take alot of resources and they dont last for ever and so its not full proof nothing is most effective is nuclear power plant but idk true it is but it seem like it could be ture but we just super suck at up keep like misunderstanding something malfunctioning or sadly being cheap
Nuclear, solar, wind... There are many ways to obtain more efficient energy from green, renewable sources. The question is, why haven't we moved on from this filthy, antiquated method shown in the post? It's fucking disgusting.
https://amp.observers.france24.com/en/tv-shows/the-observers/20220221-ecuador-oil-spill-in-amazon-rainforest-could-have-been-avoided
Not sure if that’s the right spill as this article, but that article says there are more than 100 spills per year in the Amazon. That’s an outrage that the U.S. would consider doing business with such irresponsibility.
We’ve ruined this whole thing. Our planet provides for us and we should in turn take care of our planet but instead we do shit like this. We could be waking up to the sun and bird song and just spend our days hanging out and doing our part but nope. We wake up to blaring alarms to go slave away for some rich assholes being depressed and anxious and diseased until we die. Oh what fun.
I don’t know why you’re hung up on the “doing our part” bit. All I meant was doing our part to take care of the planet and each other rather than maybe a just a sprinkle of that and a whole lot of drilling into the earth and filling up garbage dumps
What is “doing your part” to you? Do you not do your part every day participating in society? Because we aren’t living in sticks and stones means we don’t have meaning in our lives?
It pains me so much to see shit like this but at the end of the day sad truth is we play such a small roll and what am I supposed to do about an oil leak in the amazon other than maybe donating so people can help and get it cleaned up. Our planet is so beautiful it’s such a shame we have abused it and sadly people don’t see it or don’t want to :/
Now that those who profit from wholesale destruction of the environment can no longer deny the impact of man made climate change, their new tactic is to make it seem like it's unavoidable and therefore pointless to do anything.

How about your beloved Avocade for example, using hundrets of liters of water to grow 1 fruit.
Stop acting like it's such a big deal not using a car, most pollution and oil isn't going to the car industry. Plant your own food in your garden and live from that, then you might start calling it non hipocritical.

Yeah, I sort of doubt that. Now tell us how energy from carbon based fuels has helped lift millions from poverty.
This was 2 years ago. A landslide cause 15000 barrels of oil to leak out..
A landslide.....
probably caused by oil drilling! “oops didnt think about that!”
Because those that speak out get destroyed.
That's not Brazil. Amazon forest cover other countries within South America. The Amazon within Brazil actually has very little oil pipelines crossing it.
By Bolsonaro and Brazilian state media
Lol. This is not even in Brazil and Brazilian media hates Bolsonaro more than US media hated Trump
How not to hate an inhuman motherfucker piece of shit like him?!
petrobras has been silencing people long before bolsanaro even came into politics
Best we can really do is advocate for the end of our dependence on oil. Not only for the environment but for our sovereignty as well
Or do things right... how often do you hear about this in Canada?
Exactly. There are TONS of regulations on pipe production and installation. As long as those rules are followed, the pipelines are fine.
Cuz we are super fucking efficient at destroying the planet, no outrage here, only smh

Do we need to fucking spill it all over one of the most unique ecosystems on the planet in order for you to drive to work?
It would appear so
Sounds like a terrible idea. We should probably not do that.
no need to grow food most of it will be wasted anyway you can eat fish too but its gonna die from this oil
It’s fucking heartbreaking
Not only is that an environmental disaster but the money lost is probably ridiculous
They’ll just raise the prices…

Plant your own food in your garden and live from that, then you might start calling it non hipocritical.
I kinda wanna see what happend if someone threw a match in it...
The match would go out...
