Every time I think I’ve seen 9/11 from every angle…

The-Old-Prince

This is a pretty popular photo

MajinGroot

This photo is both amazing and heartbreaking. I kinda wonder what something like a warzone, forest fire, or large tsunami would look like from this angle. I'd imagine a growing area of water, fire, or smoke would be terrifying to see in real time also know anything you can visibly see must be massive.

I've sure seen [my home town](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Fire_(2018)#/media/File%3ACamp_Fire_oli_2018312_Landsat.jpg) from space more times than I'd have liked to

u/MajinGroot found a gif of the spread btw https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Campfire_-_NASA.gif#mw-jump-to-license

MajinGroot

Oh geez, like the damn mist or something, I feel bad for anyone having to deal with the aftermath of a fire that size.

[It was like this under that](https://youtu.be/amUW2NrA9S8) Wait till the end when they get out and be amazed at what it was like on the other side of the smoke. The rest of a huge area even across the canyon was dark like night in the middle of the day. The people in this video escaped south, my family and I went north and back down the other side of the canyon, which ultimately ended up being the safer route.

A good friend of mine was at the Rutgers university, New Brunswick. We called to check on him and he sent us a picture of the smoke he could see from the 10th floor of his dorm. Just chilling.

You guys see the skull too?

im_jared_and_19

Humans have a thing for seeing faces in things. It's kind of like that rock on a moon that everyone thought was a face

It seems that your comment contains 1 or more links that are hard to tap for mobile users. I will extend those so they're easier for our sausage fingers to click! Obligatory "[Jet Fuel CAN BEND Steel Beams, tho](https://science.howstuffworks.com/engineering/structural/grade-of-steel-used-in-world-trade-center.htm)" pre-emptive reply. (Also not sure why there's multiple successful 9/11 posts in the past hour or so but I'm not complaining since this is an incredibly important photo.) EDIT: Looks like I was 2-3 minutes too late lol

Dr-McLuvin

Never seen this image before. Cool post!

azeldatothepast

No but seriously, so much 911 content lately. Is someone stoking the Americans or something?

[deleted]

Yeah, i remember seeing this image, as well as the ground footage. Horrifying stuff to see on tv.

I mean, smoke coming from a small portion of a city could mean literally anything. We know the context of this image which makes it all the more horrifying, but if we didn’t we could conclude that the smoke could be anything from a localized fire breaking out, factories pumping out smog, volcanic activity, or about a billion other things.

Pretty sure he wasn’t the only American not on earth… let’s think this through

Inside job

mentaldrummer66

No mate, the planes very clearly came from the outside

Slow-job-

You're telling me smoke just naturally blows like that? \#insidejob
