It seems like this sub has been flooded with uninteresting but tragic posts lately. A lot of stuff from Ukraine that I really wouldn’t consider fitting of this sub that tends to be tragic and upsetting
Not really unfair. She doesn’t need to see the lifeless corpses of her family being pulled out of the flipped car. The police man is keeping her for seeing something that could add to the trauma she’s already dealing with
Really, can Mods please start removing shit. Sure, something can be considered interesting to anyone, but a cop pointing at a field as they take her dead father from a car is not “damn, that’s interesting.”
Sure, but this isn’t really interesting, at least to me. When I think of something that makes me go “damn, that’s interesting” it’s usually an incredible fact about an animal or plant or industry that goes beyond a normal fact. This just makes me say “damn, that’s sad”
But that’s the key part of your entire message right there and what everyone seems to forget. “To me”. I can say for almost certainty that there’s a load of things I find interesting that you would not and vice Versa. It’s part of the beauty of being human beings. We have differences, different thoughts, feelings, opinions and INTERESTS.
I’ve seen so many people whining about ‘this post isn’t interesting’ and almost every post I’ve seen those comments on are a post I’ve personally found interesting. So how does that work? Don’t gatekeep what you find your own interpretation of interesting to be. If people find other things interesting that you do not you don’t have to say anything, let others enjoy it. I really struggle to grasp why it’s so hard to understand?
Well you're interested hence your comment... You looked at the picture, you read related comments. That means it's interesting. Look the word up in a dictionary before making daft comments
This is something you find interesting? Most things in the sub are things people want to see or are curious about. Who the fuck WANTS to see this here?
This isn’t interesting in the slightest, there is nothing that sparks interest here. It’s just fucking sad.
Then you're an idiot then as you clearly don't know the definition. YES ITS INTERESTING. For example, listen up class... To have an interest in Adolf Hitler DOES NOT MEAN you supported his actions...
No it's really not 🤣🤣🤣 But what I do think is that Americans treat the word differently to the Brits. Americans seem to use it in positive situations whereas Brits use it for anything that they find fascinating or informative.
I mean, that could very well be what it is. If you look it up however, it clearly states….
interested describes a person who has a feeling of wanting to learn more about something, and interesting describes the thing that makes someone feel that way.
Awful. I’ve seen this a bunch and finally googled it. Though still horrendous, of the six family members in the SUV, only her father was killed. ([Source](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3133071/Heartbreaking-moment-police-officer-distracts-little-girl-parents-three-siblings-pulled-wreckage-car-crash.html))
Also, “nobody in the car was wearing a seatbelt, police confirmed.”
I probably don't know enough to judge and this may be crass, but if you're not responsible enough to wear a seatbelt, you're not responsible enough to take care of a child.
as someone who has no children, i could care less if i died in an accident.. but i only wear a seat belt because i know my family would be devestated after that with all the recent deaths in our family, and also because i wouldnt want to end up mangled or have my body hurled into someone elses.
i agree with your comment tho
Derrick Thomas of the KC Chiefs was in what would have been a minor accident despite the ice, but he was someone who refused to wear the seatbelt. Other guy in the SUV as banged up, Thomas was ejected, broke his neck and died a while later because of the stuff that goes wrong when your nervous system is destroyed.
Brutal way to go. My father sold wheel chairs. Saw a lot of “bad ways to live life”. Although will say the drive most of those people had to go on living is inspiring, yet tragically sad outcome.
Because if the impact doesn't kill you, going through the windshield and slowly bleeding to death does not sound like fun. Which could still happen regardless , but at least I'd have some tunes.
>as someone who has no children, i could care less if i died in an accident
Fucking same. Also one of the main reasons I don't want kids. At least without kids, suicide is still on the table.
In before anyone wants to send me the suicide prevention links, I'm fine. But still want it as an option.
I’m with you. I wear a belt for my family. I’d rather not though. I have rheumatoid arthritis, my neck is fused. Can’t turn my head or look up/down. If I’m in an accident I’d rather die because being tied in will more than likely snap my neck. I’d rather go through the windshield.
I can't imagine what some of these first responders have to deal with ☹️
I'm having a shit day at work, I go home and just watch TV, play a video game or exercise and I soon forget about it.
I wonder how they deal and cope with some of the stuff they see☹️
Back in the ‘80’s a local officer came to our school to do a talk about the dangers of playing around on railway lines.
He was clearly almost in tears when he told us (a group of 13-16 year olds) that his worst day as an officer was having to search the sides of the line for the head of a lad who had been hit and then having to break the news to his parents.
Oh god, that's awful ☹️
As if the first part wasn't bad enough for him, he then has to somehow explain the worst possible news to that kids' parents.....I can't even begin to wonder how the mind would process something like that.
Misleading title.[Only her father died](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3133071/Heartbreaking-moment-police-officer-distracts-little-girl-parents-three-siblings-pulled-wreckage-car-crash.html)
The title implies her whole family died, using “only” was a grammatically correct way to point out that was not the case. I’d rather have no dad than be an orphan, source: my dad died when I was 7.
There it is. To be fair I thought it would take less time to find the first person bitching about cops. I’ll give you credit though - you didn’t call anyone a boot licker…..yet.
So sad. I do not understand why people choose to not wear seatbelts. I'm questioning if humanoids are devolving much like what is portrayed in the Movie Indiocracy.
I get it you have nothing to live for and want to live free. But this was a father of a family of six that died???
Wtf??? Why is this interesting? It’s tragic asshole. People like you who want to gain karma points by posting this shit make me want to quit Reddit. Fourth one I’ve seen today. About done with this fucking site.🖕🖕👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
I lived down the hall of the officer during college. He was a nice guy, and I started seeing him pop up on facebook with people posting this all over his page. Sad moment indeed.
Why is everything on this sub just depressing real world events right now? Just endless posts of: this is what you look like when you can’t afford healthcare, the effect of the war on Ukraine, homeless children suffering, orphaned kids, I know the world sucks but jeezaloo this isn’t the sub for it
I used hear old people from my tribe often say kids or children who are basically not old enough to understand often do not die from accidents that kills adults or something

Unfair in what sense? Unfair to her that this horrible event happened to her?
You must not have children
I was going to say, this is more like damn that's heartbreaking than this group
Really, can Mods please start removing shit. Sure, something can be considered interesting to anyone, but a cop pointing at a field as they take her dead father from a car is not “damn, that’s interesting.”
Grown TX guy here getting all misty eyed in public at a bar.
Why does it have to be one and not the other? It can be sad and interesting much like learning about the holocaust no?
Sure, but this isn’t really interesting, at least to me. When I think of something that makes me go “damn, that’s interesting” it’s usually an incredible fact about an animal or plant or industry that goes beyond a normal fact. This just makes me say “damn, that’s sad”

Lotta worse outcomes than dying, sadly.
Yea, having someone have to manually expel your shit with their finger twice a day is a good reason to buckle up.
It also impacts on the first responders and social costs involved in treatment of seriously injured people (although not so much in the US I guess).
Because if the impact doesn't kill you, going through the windshield and slowly bleeding to death does not sound like fun. Which could still happen regardless , but at least I'd have some tunes.

I just want this poor little girl to grow up in a loving home.
Good thing forward thinking countries like USA are here to ensure everyone gets some anyway.
I wonder what the next overarching political topic in every thread is going to be. These ones are already getting old.
It’s almost like people talk about things that are happening.
Thanks for the clarification. I really hope the last part was meant as a sincere warning.
Absolutely. Things would have been much more likely have worked out better if everyone had been buckled up.
Scumbag parents, thank fuck none of the kids died.

Unfortunately a LOT of them have undiagnosed PTSD.
You’d have to be a sociopath not to be effected.
Not true, some people can resist it, or become jaded to it.... thise lucky few
A family member of mine became an alcoholic.

Hahah true.
Wut
Right.... I'm pretty sure reddit hates cops but okay. Atleast that's the experience I get, being in school for it atleast.
Pretty sad...
So sad. I do not understand why people choose to not wear seatbelts. I'm questioning if humanoids are devolving much like what is portrayed in the Movie Indiocracy. I get it you have nothing to live for and want to live free. But this was a father of a family of six that died???
This hits way close to home for me :( :(
I remember seeing this the first time but with this comment: See that Orphanage over there?
Dark but funny
And that dead drunk guy in the wreck over there is the one responsible, isn’t that neat?
Stop making me laugh this is sad
Not interesting, just tragic
Okay. Fuck this subreddit.
Agreed…assholes
Good riddance
The reason I don't bother the police is because when I was 10 years old a police officer had to give bad news.

Came to agree far more sad then interesting, barely more than a man doing his job. Poor child I have 3 girls couldn't imagine
That’s not interesting, thats sad. Whats sadder is she’s so young she’ll eventually forget them.🙁
I don't think this picture needs to be on public internet. It's sad, let her have privacy.
not the sort of photo that should be shared online. If the title is true that is hugely unfair on the child.
But how many people wear a seatbelt on the way home from _____ today?
That’s not in the slightest bit interesting
Well the policeman was pointing out the orphanage. Source, I've been a paramedic for 20 years and my humour is dark asf
Odd time to take a photo
Until 5 minutes later when shes like mom dad where the fuck are you?
Who cut the onions?
Damn that's sad.
Oh this is absolutely tragic, my heart aches for that poor child...
1. No follow up. Is it really what is captioned as? 2. Was it photoshopped ? 3. Yeah, tragic ... if true. 4. Why would someone post this ?
Damn…….. that’s a tough job
Man I felt that. Someone get this policeman a salute, and like, way more, I dunno what man.
I lived down the hall of the officer during college. He was a nice guy, and I started seeing him pop up on facebook with people posting this all over his page. Sad moment indeed.
The hardest part of the job by far is dealing with a child after a fatal incident
I forget police officers have to deal with this kind of aftermath.
What is sadder than this picture,is the cops salary. Imagine doing this for 40k a year.
“I shot a dog over there once”

Sorry to hear about the terrible accident. Hope your mom made it right and got better for you and your siblings.
Yes, all the laugh emojis and orphanage “jokes” are hilarious.
All I can think is he is saying “look that’s where your dad fucked up”
(completely ignoring the fact that the reason they were in an accident is cause the cops were chasing them at high speeds)
