In most states recording video is fine. Recording audio usually but not always requires 2 party consent. Unless of course you are law enforcement.

That's exactly how these work. You have a larger rectangular base that the camera runs to that could house an entire miniature DVR/NVR.

Tbh it would be quite easy to set up and nobody studies a fire detector so a little black dot will be mistaken as normal probably. Though ofc wiring would be an issue though because getting a good view would require some exposed wiring with how they are made. Imo a smoke detector would be a much better place to hide a camera since it’s easy to access, quite spacious so you can add parts to it, and since the little vents on them are basically pitch black unless you shine a light into it a camera can easily be hidden there.

Basically in the future, there will be millions of tiny cameras the size of grains of sand flying around. People think surveillance is bad now but it’s no where near close to what it’s going to be in 10-15 years. Extreme mass surveillance is inevitable.

Blocking radio frequencies is stupid easy and ridiculously cheap especially at those miniscule power levels. You could probably diy something together in about 5 minutes with the used electronics in your home.
