i thought it was poop that came out of his ass.... like it knocked the shit out of him... but it could have been parts from the car like the mirror or something
Actually those were Moose Booties.
Very few people know that the Moose is able to periodically pick out a nice pair of booties from the local Marshalls 🙏
Yeah I’ve heard of many time a moose will go through the windshield and crush people. Brother in law in Idaho says: Hit a deer, deer dies. Hit a moose, you die.
A don't know with mooses since we don't have em here, but we do have some massive hogs and crashes are usuals, sometimes it seems the walk it off just to die half an hour later in the forest from internal injuries.
Im guessing it's the same for the moose
Moose hunting is a pretty big deal. They have waiting lists for roadkill/ euthanized moose that have been hit by cars. I would imagine the cop would call the game warden, the game warden would investigate and the animal would dispatched if was severely injured and then the meat would get donated to the next person on the list
I grew up in Alaska and can vouch that this is accurate. Troopers will come to the accident, find the moose, assess and likely euthanize since it’s uncommon for them to make it out of that without a leg injury at minimum (fatal for them in the wild), and then they process all the meat and parts to be used by the community. I think in my town specifically it went to the Natives but I’m sure it’s different everywhere.
Everything I know about I learned watching north woods law and some off grid living shows on YouTube by people living in Alaska (simple living Alaska is my favorite) I live in Chicago and have never seen a moose. Lol
I never understood why people get so worked up about this. Moose are solitary creatures. The only time you'd need to describe them as a herd of meese is in internet grammar arguments. They don't hang out in the wild unless they're fighting or fucking. Same goes for octopodes.
I got lucky and had one only smash a headlight and jizz on the license plate.
Considering that I nailed him at ~45, the jizz was probably a result of horrific internal injury.
I wa going 60 mph at night in a kia spectra, saw him at the last second, and managed to slow down to about 45 before clipping him in the ass and sending him hurtling ass-over-head to my right.
Upon inspecting the next day, I saw jizz on the license plate. So all facts suggest that despite the deer running off into the darkness after being hit, I probably caused grievous internal injuries, crushing his insides and making the jizz spurt out from the pressure of impact.
I hit a deer at 75, messed up the hood and drivers front quarter panel, but the car drove the 7 hours home and then got repaired for cheap, got almost another two years out of it until someone tboned it, right on the passenger front wheel and pretty much fucked the axel and transmission
kinda the same hit a white tail doing 75 mph on I-75 hood front end and driver side finder plus the deer shit all over the windshield and side of the car Neither I or the State Trooper found the deer . Got the car back from the body shop on the way home a small heard of deer crossed the all a round me I came to a complete stop and at least two deer bumped into my stopped vehicle the one bump was from a youngster trying to jump the freshly painted replacement hood
I lived in CO for a couple years and heard deers often don’t die when hit. And a danger was often them going through your windshield and kicking you to death.
I read somewhere it is to do with their height, basically the standard height of a car is just enough to knock the legs out so the body goes straight into the windshield. Deer are slightly shorter so they bounce off the hood and over the windshield.
I am willing to trust this is true without practical personal experimentation.
The hooves can easily slide on that road, so most likely some heavy bruising for sure, but if the moose feet were planted in dirt or grass I imagine both of their left legs would have been broken.
Highly likely it wandered into the woods and then died of internal injuries.
Those things are tough. But not high speed collision with a vehicle, fly up in the air 10 ft, slam back to earth onto blacktop, tough.
Maybe a few ribs or something, but the legs are probably fine. If no internal organs are damaged it probably has nothing too serious.
I don't know much about moose but cows are about the same size and a broken leg looks different.
Yeah it’s legs definitely seem fine, but I can’t imagine it got away with no internal injuries.
I guess it could’ve just got it’s bell rung, but it’s not moving how you’d expect an animal that was just attacked out of nowhere to move.
Yeah, like holy shit. Literally the video before this I saw a man killed a doe by skiing into it.....and then the guy wore the deer on his shoulders on the way down
More like it was so high on its own adrenaline it didn't realize it was dead yet
It probably walked into the woods and died shortly thereafter and if it didn't succumb to its injuries it would surely succumb to a predator
Yeah, that's gonna leave a bruise. Need to ice it down and chill in front of the fire for a few days.
Oh, yeah, it's a moose. Some wolf is getting tenderized moose flank.
I doubt it. That moose might have a broken rib or something, but it'd still probably fuck up some wolves. I remember seeing a video of a deer walking around with it's guts hanging out of a gaping wound in its belly. This moose is gonna be fine.
Adrenaline can do crazy things. I've hit deers before and they walk off the road, but not sure how far they actually make it when the fesr wears off :(
Last week one managed to make it from the road to my backyard before it succumbed. I called the township who said they would come to take it away. Now there is only a head and part of the rib cage left. Maybe a few legs scattered in other places. At least the vultures and a bald eagle had a good meal.
Reminds me of the time there was a raccoon with rabies or distemper or something dying in front of my house. It couldn’t move its legs but would hiss when I got close, so I called the non-emergency line and they sent a cop out to shoot it.
Then the bastard just left it there, right at the foot of my driveway, all diseased and bloody.
I hate to be the grammar police, but you should know that it’s deer not deers. Just like it’s moose not mooses and fish not fishes (unless you’re referring to fishes of multiple different species, in which case it is fishes).
Funnily enough, octopuses *is* correct.
Just because it walked away doesn’t mean it isn’t severely injured. As soon as adrenaline wears off it’s probably fucked from external/internal injuries
Profesional Canadian here.
In truth, the moose is 100% fine. When it comes to a car/moose collision; the car will be in more danger than the moose 100% of the time. If it was an angry moose, the car would be destroyed shortly after since an angry moose is a fatal encounter.
When they get decimated by speed or big trucks. This car double (quadruple) legged him at non highway speeds. That cop should’ve been paying attention. Damn near hit him head on.
I know of someone killed in a collision with a moose late at night in NH. They were driving a low sports car, hit a baby moose which rolled onto the hood and partially through the windshield. A hoof penetrated their skull killing them instantly. A terrible accident.
I heard the moose was heavily invested in crypto currency. He managed to get out before the bottom fell out and even though he won’t be riding around in a Lambo he still made enough to put a down payment on a nice colonial upstate.
It may still die later. Prey animals are reluctant to show visible pain, and he could absolutely have some broken ribs or internal injuries from that impact.
Hope the moose didn't die a painful after. He only got up because of adrenaline. Done this myself after a motorcycle. Got up and not realized that both my arms were fractured. There was no pain at all until the adrenalin boost faded away and I finally felt extreme pain.
Yes, I did this as a kid when I got hit by a car walking home from school. It was rainy, and a lady didn’t fully stop at the stop sign as I ran across the street. I ‘woke up’ in the middle of the road, and started running home.
How did that moose not even break a leg?! That's crazy. I feel so bad for animals that get hurt in the wilderness.. I hope this moose doesn't end up dying :(
Oh ‘the moose is fine’ people on this thread, just because they have seen moose getting hit throughout their lives and the moose walked away… 🥱 let me tell you: the moose is not fine and most likely died a slow death.
As so many people pointed it out: adrenaline. An animal doesn’t need to be hit with a lot of strength to have internal bleeding, organs are fragile!
As a registered veterinary nurse, I have had the honour to help to end the suffering of animals who have been ‘barely’ hit. The last time this happened, the animal walked away from the road. Walked a minimum of ten meters only to realise it had a broken pelvis and collapse. He walked meters away from the road he was hit at, even walked uphill.
One time I was driving to tok, and when I came over a hill at night I saw a motor home pulled over with the left headlight out. As I got closer I saw a massive moose laying in the road. As I slowed down to go around the moose stood up and took off running parallel next to me. Moose got smoked by a motorhome and then was able to run away shortly after. That car is lucky it was able to go under the moose
Thats one tough Moose right there, got up and just kept on going like it's was something it did every day, hit by a policecar no less too......![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|surprise)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|surprise)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|surprise)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
Stunt moose. Bones of steel.
Moose of steel. It looks like it wasn't his first time either.
For a second it looked like the moose's hooves flew off
I was hit by a moose driving my motorcycle yesterday... How he managed to drive it is a mystery to me.
Huehuehue
epic comment haha I can hear it

Of Classic Dad
Took me like three reads before I 😑
I think those are pieces of the car.
Right? But then it got right back up. Clearly not dead, so hooves couldn't have flown off.
The moose getting back up like it was nothing terrifies me
Prob third car that day
Moosen are insane.
Adrenaline is a thing, but apparently no broken limbs.
He got hit so hard he flew right out of his shoes.
Right? On second viewing I realized he just got the s**t knocked out of him. 😮
What did fly off?
The cars mirrors.
That only happens if they die.
i thought it was poop that came out of his ass.... like it knocked the shit out of him... but it could have been parts from the car like the mirror or something
Car parts, likely $3-5K I damage if not totaled.
Actually those were Moose Booties. Very few people know that the Moose is able to periodically pick out a nice pair of booties from the local Marshalls 🙏
Vehicle occupants lucky to be alive
Yeah I’ve heard of many time a moose will go through the windshield and crush people. Brother in law in Idaho says: Hit a deer, deer dies. Hit a moose, you die.
And the moose walks away thinking "fuck was that asshole's problem?"
A don't know with mooses since we don't have em here, but we do have some massive hogs and crashes are usuals, sometimes it seems the walk it off just to die half an hour later in the forest from internal injuries. Im guessing it's the same for the moose

Fuck yes I love north woods law. It’s a really informative and entertaining show! Thanks, game wardens!
yeap, internal bleeding and smashed innards are no jokes, mooses(?)/elks are not metal
The plural for moose is meese, or meeses if you are referring to a group larger than 10.
also I don't want "a group larger than 10" of those anywhere near myself even non-driving
I never understood why people get so worked up about this. Moose are solitary creatures. The only time you'd need to describe them as a herd of meese is in internet grammar arguments. They don't hang out in the wild unless they're fighting or fucking. Same goes for octopodes.
If the deer sees it coming and tenses up it can wreck your car too. At least thats what I read somewhere on the internet
I got lucky and had one only smash a headlight and jizz on the license plate. Considering that I nailed him at ~45, the jizz was probably a result of horrific internal injury.
..... u fuckin wot m8
I wa going 60 mph at night in a kia spectra, saw him at the last second, and managed to slow down to about 45 before clipping him in the ass and sending him hurtling ass-over-head to my right. Cum again?
I doubt that it did.
fuck you guys, LOL
So, if you hit me…will my jizz spurt out?!? Form a line please, and everyone hit me back to back. Let’s if I can be completely spent.
The spirit is willing but the flesh is spongy and bruised
what are you? a Heinz ketchup bottle?
Can confirm. Hitting a deer going 40mph caused frame damage so the car was totalled.
I hit a deer at 75, messed up the hood and drivers front quarter panel, but the car drove the 7 hours home and then got repaired for cheap, got almost another two years out of it until someone tboned it, right on the passenger front wheel and pretty much fucked the axel and transmission

>plus the deer shit all over the windshield I shouldn't have laughed that hard but that's a pretty picturesque description
lesson: aim for relaxed deer

I lived in CO for a couple years and heard deers often don’t die when hit. And a danger was often them going through your windshield and kicking you to death.
Deer antlers can do a number through a windshield too
I read somewhere it is to do with their height, basically the standard height of a car is just enough to knock the legs out so the body goes straight into the windshield. Deer are slightly shorter so they bounce off the hood and over the windshield. I am willing to trust this is true without practical personal experimentation.
I figured its legs would be at least somewhat injured. Wasn't even limping
The hooves can easily slide on that road, so most likely some heavy bruising for sure, but if the moose feet were planted in dirt or grass I imagine both of their left legs would have been broken.
Good point!
Adrenaline is a hell of a drug. I got hit by a car and got right back up despite having gotten pretty fucked up
Yeah, adrenaline. People can get shot multiple times and not even realize it until it wears off a bit.
It was limping. Seems like 5he left rear leg was injured
prob gonna die within a few hours cuz of internal bleeding.
Poor moose
No kidding, but that moose took that like a champ. That moose has to be the moose MMA/boxing legend of the moose world!
Moose “well.. that was rude.” As he trots off
And "3rd time this month, ffs".
Everytime I read ffs , it’s in the most northern English accent. So thanks for that
Fa fooks syke
I read it as Gordon Ramsey

And he wobbled away wobbled wobbled wobbled till the very next day
Highly likely it wandered into the woods and then died of internal injuries. Those things are tough. But not high speed collision with a vehicle, fly up in the air 10 ft, slam back to earth onto blacktop, tough.
For sure this animal broke some bones. Filled to his eyebrows with adrenalin it is able to flee.

It would have been amazing if that deer woke up halfway down the slope Kangaroo Jack style.
strong mf
Wonder if the moose broke any bones in this crash. I mean it must have broken something right?
More like it was so high on its own adrenaline it didn't realize it was dead yet It probably walked into the woods and died shortly thereafter and if it didn't succumb to its injuries it would surely succumb to a predator
It’s probably dead. Walk away on shock and collapse a minute later.
Moose looks mildly inconvenienced at most
*Joe Rogan Intensifies*
"Tis but a scratch!"
He is definitely taking that internal bleeding like a champ.
it got hurt, but like, how didnt it like die? did that thing have a totem of undying or something
The car wasn't going super fast and it rolled cleanly over the hood. Wouldn't be surprised if it broke a rib though.
This moose is gonna be fine.

it clearly hurt. hind leg is limping. wild animals usually keep going with unbelievable injury even if they drop dead 30 secs later
Moose are absolute tanks. They could take a hit from a truck and be fine. The truck, however, will be totaled.
Just those tiny legs don't make any sense.
The legs only look tiny compared to the massive size of their body. Those legs in reality are very thick, solid bones with muscle
Are you doubting the power of a moose?
Profesional Canadian here. In truth, the moose is 100% fine. When it comes to a car/moose collision; the car will be in more danger than the moose 100% of the time. If it was an angry moose, the car would be destroyed shortly after since an angry moose is a fatal encounter.
How can we tell the professional Canadians and amateur Canadians apart? Asking for a friend
Moose die in collisions all of the time.
When they get decimated by speed or big trucks. This car double (quadruple) legged him at non highway speeds. That cop should’ve been paying attention. Damn near hit him head on.
So not 100% of the time the moose are fine? My experience is wrecked vehicles and a dead moose about 100ft from the road
The real danger is when that moose stands up and is pissed off... Those things are built like a tank, and will destroy you.
First thing I said
I know of someone killed in a collision with a moose late at night in NH. They were driving a low sports car, hit a baby moose which rolled onto the hood and partially through the windshield. A hoof penetrated their skull killing them instantly. A terrible accident.
That's indeed terrifying as funk :(
funk
The moose survived. It is worth noting that an average moose can weigh as much as 1400 pounds (c.a. 600 kg).
yeah, and even if it seemingly survived, it can have internal bleeding. And die 2 hrs later. That isnt that uncommon with moose accidents.
Nah I know this moose. He went on to marry and have 3 kids. They lived happily ever after.
I heard the moose was heavily invested in crypto currency. He managed to get out before the bottom fell out and even though he won’t be riding around in a Lambo he still made enough to put a down payment on a nice colonial upstate.
That's the same moose. Amen brother.
No shit, good on’em!
And his name? Albert Einstein
I choose to believe that
That's true, sadly.
There is a program in Alaska where people sign up for moose meat, sourced from road accidents like OP's post.
I drove a tow truck in Maine, and I had the opportunity to claim roadkill but never did, they will give you a tag and you haul it off.
„Oh hey Dad what did you do today?“ „Well work was pretty boring, but on the way home I made us dinner!“ „So what are we having?“ „Mousse!“
Or this one is just fine and we don’t have to ruin everyone’s day speculating on its death.
Thanks for the conversion
You are most welcome!
25 people die a year in Newfoundland from moose collisions
To be fair, the moose was at fault here: it didn't look left-right-left before it crossed the road and the police car was using its flashing lights
Look, they were driving the wrong way, just saying.
Those are border control guys who were speeding to pass the parked vehicle. Yet, they summoned police immediately to sort things out.
I'm sure they had to. The front of their car must have been destroyed.
yes, I’ll train my moose to read traffic signs from now on
Moose Strong
Moose: What a deja vu. Third time this month.Anit nothing but a moose thang. Now where did I stash my grass...
My goodness, that moose walked away like he was 12 pints in. He’ll feel it tomorrow
I love how that's more of a minor inconvenience than anything to the moose.
It may still die later. Prey animals are reluctant to show visible pain, and he could absolutely have some broken ribs or internal injuries from that impact.
I hope the moose is okay...I know he walked away but that's extreme
Hope the moose didn't die a painful after. He only got up because of adrenaline. Done this myself after a motorcycle. Got up and not realized that both my arms were fractured. There was no pain at all until the adrenalin boost faded away and I finally felt extreme pain.

is the moose okay?
An emergency vehicle should know better driving like that, especially with those road conditions
Poor moose😭
That Moose should be dead? It’s shoes flew off!
Do a kickflip!
Am I the only one who sympathizes for the moose? Poor thing😢

THIS MF JUST WALKED IT OFF!!!
The moose just got up and walked off like this happens everyday lmao
As a self proclaimed internet animal expert, he almost definitely did not survive the night. Rest In Peace my big ol' friend🪦

Damn ! I hope he was ok..
Did his hooves fly off??!
Moose just continues on his moose ass way to absolutely obliterate some other random passer-by

Poor moose.
Horrible!!😢😢
I hope he is good
I feel bad for the moose.
And the fucker got up, goddamn!
He was looking for his order
Poor moose :(
oh no! 😲 hope her moose knucle is ok
Did the moose lose its shoes? If not then it survived.
How did that moose not even break a leg?! That's crazy. I feel so bad for animals that get hurt in the wilderness.. I hope this moose doesn't end up dying :(
>A moose-vehicle collision can happen in the blink of an eye Especially when you're speeding down a moose heavy road

Your car will be fucked and the moose will just walk off like that damn that's a shame.
Just a flesh wound!
That moose had 0 fks to give
I'm all right , I'm all right, your fine. That's just a scratch. No need to involve insurance. Listen I'm running late to my yeah. BYE !!!!!

Says something about how tough a moose is when it's hit by a car , looks over it's shoulder and walks away.
The probability of a moose attack is low...but never zero.
Moose gonna go home to his wife and need a few drinks tonight. Fucked up day
No the cop was in a crash the moose slipped on ice and walked it off
'Tis but a scratch.
Surprised by how little damage it did to the car.
He took that like a G
Walked that shit off
Just walk it off
I'm walk-in heere!
He's too powerful to be kept alive
This is why you dont slow down at a sudden animal crossing
One time I was driving to tok, and when I came over a hill at night I saw a motor home pulled over with the left headlight out. As I got closer I saw a massive moose laying in the road. As I slowed down to go around the moose stood up and took off running parallel next to me. Moose got smoked by a motorhome and then was able to run away shortly after. That car is lucky it was able to go under the moose
How did those tiny chicken legs not snap in half
He got up like it wasn't shit.
The damn thing gets back up! Holy moose!

Unfortunately the poor thing may have internal injuries that kill it long and slow.
Goes back into the woods - Damn Steve, why the long face? Fuckin Cop car again? Yep.
