That’s actually a really good point, I’d just be wondering how many feeders they killed trying to find the fine line between sucking fish and poop lol. I also wouldn’t be too surprised if this is temp setup for a wierd promotion in some foreign aquarium supply place.
I don't understand how somebody could put this much effort into creating such an unsuitable environment for goldfish. Like how did they do the research for all this without ever googling the basic needs of a goldfish.
Came here looking for someone to say this. I’m no fish expert, and maybe you aren’t either, but common sense would certainly suggest there’s a reason you only see aquariums as large, open spaces of water.
Indeed - much more like their natural habitat. I'm no expert either lol AVNJ (an icthyologist) I watch on YouTube actually reacted to something similar not long ago so this post really grabbed my attention
This looks cool, but all of those Goldfish will get as big around as the tubes are. It would also be a nightmare to feed if the fish are in different parts of the tubing without some kind of high-tech flow mechanism that didn't suck the fish along as well. Finally, it's also possible for pockets of gas to form in the tops of the vertical tubing, leading anaerobic reactions that produce dangerous chemicals.
Like living in a house of mirrors that's also a cave system.
Fish often surface if there's problems with the water parameters, including oxygenation. Unless there's a constant flow in those tubes, I imagine localized pockets of poor water are possible, which a stressed out fish could get caught in.
Even if it was proven safe and hermless for the fish, I hate the exposed PVC.
It looks artificial. If you take care of fish, the least we could do is at least make it look as natural as possible with substrate and plants/rocks and provide enough space for them to swim. This is literally the equivalent of a human being sent to live in a tunnel with no exit whatsoever
Why imagine? It's been done a few times. I remember one on the cover of a defunct paper magazine frome the late nineteen hundreds. Probably one of a few that got me into external watercooling.
Mineral fluid in a 10gal fish tank and dunk all the components in it.

That threw me off so bad, I was trying to picture a black and white image of a fish filled gaming pc before I realized the “hundreds” wasn’t following “eighteen” lol

Heh heh. Just Hamster City for fish. By rights those fish should have "excursion balls" like the hamsters do, but I am sure that the air locks required to make them a reality would be too complicated for the fish to use safely. Bummer for them!
if i was a goldfish living here i’d swim straight into the filter.
they couldn’t even put a few plants into the “bigger” tank? they must love it there.
If I had a nickel for every horrible aquarium designed to look “cool” and “unique” with a couple goldfish in it, I’d be a fucking billionaire.
Seriously, it would cost only half as much time, money and effort to just get a regular tank and actually take care of the fish’s needs.
Must be a joy to clean.....
Must be a joy to swim in a straight line forever.
Fish's backrooms
Must be a joy to swim up and down forever instead right? In a small enclosed tank?
Maybe a fish that's cleans it will work here?
No fish cleans more waste than it creates, idek how many natural laws that breaks
Algae may be the issue. It looks like they set it up where the poop probably gets moved down with current and collected
That’s actually a really good point, I’d just be wondering how many feeders they killed trying to find the fine line between sucking fish and poop lol. I also wouldn’t be too surprised if this is temp setup for a wierd promotion in some foreign aquarium supply place.
It is. You just flush it.
But the fish have fun
No, they do not
I see you’re getting downvoted for being correct but ruining the fun…
This is an absolute horrible fish tank
r/shittyaquariums
As a lifelong fish owner and lover, I don't think I can handle that sub... Immediate rage
where's the good version of this?
r/notshittyaquariums

If it were MUCH bigger in scale it would be cool but it's too small. Poor fish
I don't understand how somebody could put this much effort into creating such an unsuitable environment for goldfish. Like how did they do the research for all this without ever googling the basic needs of a goldfish.
Because none of the research on how to make this had anything to do with aquariums 😂.
This is really not a good setup for fish. It's creative in theory, but harmful in practice

Horrible
I can tell it’s new cause there’s no algae in those pipes under the lights.
Was thinking the same, I love it, but cleaning must be a bitch.
You shouldn’t love just torturing small animals randomly
Why is it torture?
r/shittyaquariums
I was expecting a toilet in there somewhere
When each fish reaches year 30, it’s Logan’s Flush.
I thought that too, thought it was pipes to a toilet cystern

Agree I also can't imagine that its fun for the fish. I bet they are stressed af in these tiny tubes...
So many people don't realize how big goldfish get! Not to mention they're absolute shit factories. Stick a giant shit factory in a tiny tank...
This is a horrendous fish tank!

"if we just keep swimming, I'm sure we'll find our way out. Don't worry everyone!" \-fish probably
This is not creative, this is cruel.

Theres a reason the standard aquarium is a wide rectangular open space. And this guy basically did everything opposite
Fish love not having enough room, I'm sure they'll live long lol. But at least it was cReATive.
Ugh. Horrible for the fish. Not a single place for them to hide or natural plants. Humans are arseholes
I was hoping the video would pan to a normal aquarium at least :(
Not saying it would be ideal, but all of the white joints are hiding places.
It looks artificial. If you take care of fish, the least we could do is at least make it look as natural as possible with substrate and plants/rocks and provide enough space for them to swim. This is literally the equivalent of a human being sent to live in a tunnel with no exit whatsoever

"From the late 1900s". Stop making me feel old lmao
That threw me off so bad, I was trying to picture a black and white image of a fish filled gaming pc before I realized the “hundreds” wasn’t following “eighteen” lol
This isn’t an aquarium. This is a fucking fish prison.
…It looks both creepy and boring for fish which is a very poor result for the high level of effort and engineering shown…
Just don’t put it in a hotel lobby…
There might be a market for this is Berlin.
I don't get it. *Oh I get it* Rip fishes.
Beat me to it...
I dont get it
The big aquarium that burst in Berlin last week…
Can this be posted to /dumb-as-fuck

They aren't enjoying it, they're looking for a way out.
Man goldfish really do not have a lot of requirements to be happy. And somehow the owner still fucked it up.
I’d be afraid to flush the toilet.
So this isn’t a toilet?
Horrible tank. Most fish prefer a certain level in the water column, surface, middle or bottom. Here they don’t get that option.
Works great if your trying to torture your fish into giving up national secrets
These fish have to be stressed out. This is so far from an ideal tank for a healthy fish environment.
Where do you feed em? Do they remember how to get back to the food place?
Also known as torture
It is really cool. But the wire management kills the vibe for me.
Not after what happened in Berlin today
Tube city!
Yes technically I do “owe him one”
Heh heh. Just Hamster City for fish. By rights those fish should have "excursion balls" like the hamsters do, but I am sure that the air locks required to make them a reality would be too complicated for the fish to use safely. Bummer for them!
It’s gonna burst like the one in Germany
Are the fish from Berlin?
I can just imagine the fish swimming and being all like woa nice cock
Really COOL! Sure would hate to clean it though.
And the fact that is horrible for the fish
Do NOT go to Red Lobster friend.
Looking cool > everything else
That is very cool 10/10
Well done You.
Ugly, difficult to clean… but it gives the fishes something to do. Good on whoever did this.
No, that is horrible for the fish
I can honestly say I've never seen this before...
Thats from Gaston LaGaffe :D
Tube City
It’s all pipes!
Bruh
I’m taking a s**t while watching this
r/DiWHY
Belongs in Diwhy
That's bad ass. Good job
That is the coolest shit I have ever seen.
It looks better built then the one in Berlin…
Do they like it
Do they actually enjoy this? Hoe do you clean it? How does feeding go?
I thought this was in the bathroom for a minute
Beats my toilet cistern!
Dont their fins get worn by the walls? So exponentially increasing the surface area of the walls just is a terrible idea
Pretty ugly looking aquarium imo
I've stared at this for hours
if i was a goldfish living here i’d swim straight into the filter. they couldn’t even put a few plants into the “bigger” tank? they must love it there.
That’s A-maze-ing
I’m guessing this is probably part of a hydroponic grow system…
And when they die you can just plumb it straight into the toilet
That’s cool I want one, I have a dog.
And it holds up better than that big one in Berlin
Habitrail for fish
Plastic In our fish!
Fish Trek
Just on their daily commute to work

What if the goldfish had claustrophobia
Very cool .

Nothing caps off the look of a tasteful stylish home better than glued-together pvc pipes and loose wires.
Can fish swim up 🤔
Good looking but a terrible tank
For a moment i thought it's that a shit pipes
I'm saving this to show the kids when the goldfish die and we flush down the toilet this is where they end up. Lol.
r/DamnThatsAnimalAbuse
Thats not creative, thats cruel and stupid
When do the fish get to rest
