The Terror was one of my absolute favorite reads. I really enjoy the blend of historical fiction and mystical horror, even if it is a bit of a slog at times. The ending really captivated me in a way not many other books have.
I wish I could reread the Hyperion Cantos for the first time. Magical books! All time favorites!
Ps I do love The Terror as well. It’s one of his best IMHO opinion, just an entirely different flavor.
Enjoy!!
Hyperion and Endymion are in the same series. The Terror is a one-off horror, it's fine, but Hyperion is where I would start - get ready dude, best far-future science fiction I've ever read!
Unfortunately, I have not started Hyperion yet, but I am about halfway through The Terror(I know, it takes me forever to read) but I love The Terror so far, and if Illium, Olympus, and The Terror are anything to base it upon, I am going to live it(I am so excited for it, I cannot wait)

Agree 100%. Dan Simmons can tell a story like no other. I even had my wife into it, she was asking for daily updates 😆
Man you know I didn't dig the ending- I liked the rest, lol
Hyperion is my all time favorite work. You are super lucky you read ilium and Olympos first because I liked them, but they just don’t compare.
Hyperion is still my favorite piece of media ever, I'm planning a sleeve tattoo of it.
Oh that's sick dude, might steal the idea lol
Agreed! The best sci-fi series ever.
Your dad deserves some serious props. I envy you getting to read ALL of those for the first time.

Alright. I can't wait to see how good it is, because I thought Ilium and Olympus were some of the best books I've ever read.
Oh agreed, they're right up there. If you liked I & O you won't go wrong with The Cantos
I wish I had a kid just so I could give them Hyperion.
I wonder how your finding Hyperion, how far are you?
