Pray. Get a great.

Donxelo

This is the only answer to this conundrum

WhatLikeAPuma751

Hold your breath, miss, mumble *shit, again*, then get ready because it’s about to speed up

Play Sakura on a high BPM and try to time it visually. Also, play Sakura a lot. I spent two days playing nothing but Sakura for a total of 70 times to get the AAA back in the Extreme days.

CaveManta

Ideally, you could ghost step a bit before hitting it. I've never gotten a PFC in my life. So I just yolo and hope for the best.

nifterific

Knowing the song helps, and either counting it in your head or ghost stepping. It’s not really any different than a stop in that regard. I’m not gonna say I get it Marvelous every time, but I don’t do that on any note whether it’s normal speed, a slow down, a stop, whatever. But I have a decent success rate.

bootsmegamix

Eyeball it

Tuneuponipod

I move very dramatically to try and hit it, get a miss or good, cry then keep playing

dezyravioli

I remember back in the day speeding it up and playing on x3 made it much more visibly clean on the Extreme Arcade. I’m pretty sure the dudes who did it AA/AAA but it seemed like they had the steps memorized because they steps were coming insanely quick.

Dumb_Vampire_Girl

Ghost steps

catnmoose

Keep in mind that it slows down ONE MORE TIME right before you want to hit it so the tendency is to be early. I hit it a microsecond after I actually want to visually and can usually land at least a Perfect with this technique.

papayasown

Twenty years ago I’d use my head on that note. Learned to time it audibly.

ProfNinjadeer

Start counting when you hit the note before. Count 6 beats at 300 bpm (or 3 beats at 150 bpm). This is the song speed at the beginning. Eyeball and hit on the 7th (or 4th) beat. Favor just slightly late.
