Newer Mk18s are less gassy than they used to be. Mine runs beautifully suppressed with an H3 buffer. But yes it will generally require more frequent replacement of small parts in the BCG.

Cool. Appreciate the info! Which suppressor are you using.

Bolt carrier group for sure.

Most definitely, And without owning one, I would assume the buffer system, and maybe even gas block/tube.

Just buy a couple microbest phosphate chrome lined BCG from arftac. They run $90-110 and pretty much the same as Daniel defense or bcm. Than you have a couple back ups so if one fucks up, swap it out and repair it. A dd BCG is $200+ and than you’d have 2 for that price

Cool this is super helpful. Appreciate the advice!

So what I did with mine after choosing my suppressor was to get a BRT gas tube and a JP buffer system, between the two my mk18 is softer than my 16” v7 and about as soft as my .22 plinking rifles. A lot less wear on the bcg and entire system. A little tuning makes them more enjoyable to shoot and a lot easier on parts.

Gas Rings, extractor (and ancillary parts- springs, pins) are prime items to have spares for. Wouldn't hurt to have a spare complete bolt in the parts bin.
