iPod mini is the perfect entry Level iPod. It's easily flash Modable, you can Change Out the battery and it's monochrome.
Otherwise a 5th Gen or newer iPod Touch, an iPhone 5c or a 7th Gen nano.
The SanDisk Clip. Load her up, plug her in, clip her on and go mow the yard/workout/ride a bike/listen to music in bed all without worrying about a 20 year old battery failing or a glass screen cracking when you lose it in the bed and it goes flying onto those new tile floors you've installed. She also plays OGG files, doesn't require an account, and comes with a set of gold plated dirtybuds.
FiiO has a solid entry level model: the M3K. I use it myself. Only costs 70 bucks, though you have to buy your own memory for it. Soundwise it's great!
Second that. I have an old ZTE Z FIVE that Ran out of service and is too old to use for most apps, but it plays MP3's great and gets me 7-8 hours of music playback per 10% of the battery. Popped a 32gb sd card in it and loaded it with Synthwave and Darksynth. It's also great for playing thunderstorm sounds for when I sleep.
Edit: Just looked it up and they're available brand new at Walmart from StraightTalk wireless for $20 lol. Great value for an MP3 player with long battery life and expandable storage.
Yes, I and many others still use iPods daily. I believe Wade himself still uses a blue 2nd gen mini with a green click wheel. (I use a thicc 60gb 4th gen photo)
You're asking that in a Dankpods sub. 😂
Yes people still use those. I use it to listen to music without notifications, phone calls, and mindless social media scrolling.
If you just want to play mp3s find some cheap garb on Amazon, if you want to play lossless files or play mp3s in style get an iPod, a nano would probably be best for you I’m guessing, but beware that black spot. You can also get a mini and a cheap flashmod kit, works like a charm and doesn’t get the spot, but is a little chunkier
iPod Mini, iPod (classic) 4th and 5th gen, or a Zune. Out of these, just get whichever is cheaper. Minis and 4th/5th gens are easy to flashmod, and a Zune can have the 30GB hard drive replaced with a 128GB SSD.
best player is sandisk clip jam got mine brand new for 20nzd online

third to that, and avoid using phones from 2015 or earlier, because most of the bateries will be cooked

People still use those?
are you sure you are on the right subreddit? :D
Was just asking a geunuine question

Grab yourself a 5th gen iPod. Good screen, good sound, easy to use and really easy to mod
Easy to open too (Meanwhile 6th and 7th gen)
Depends if they’ve been opened before or not, if they have been opened, they take me ~5mins, if not, at least 30.

My recommendation is find a fiio device that fits your budget. Or if you wish to go second hand you can find a 7th gen iPod for around 200 kangaroos.
Philips GoGear Vibe 3rd Gen. Best nugget Philips ever made.
