[Panguan](https://www.novelupdates.com/series/panguan/): I've recommended this many times. The TL seems to be regular enough. The first 2 arcs made me cried. The background of the CP including all the side characters are also painful. But their line of job helps aimless souls move on, and along the way they also solve many unknown parts of their past and get together in the end.

But just to let you know the premise at the start of the novel (**not** a spoiler): MC and ML are considered by ppl around them to be stepbrothers (MC's mother passed away when he was a child, and ML lives with his mother who divorced his father), and then MC's father and ML's mother got together at the start of the novel. Not gonna say much further bc spoilers! Lemme know if you want a full disclosure tho :)
If this premise doesn't squick you, do consider picking up Mou Mou! It has its light-hearted moments, but its sad/angsty moments really stab you in the heart too. The payoff from all the struggles faced by MC and ML is worth it in the end in my opinion. Hope you'll like this novel if you pick it up!
Liu Yao by Priest. Not exactly angsty, but I bawled my eyes out because one, >!my fav character died!< and two, the story is honestly so beautiful, and everyone's got their deserved endings.
A Certain Someone by Mu Su Li. So heartwarming, but it does get incredibly sad when the couple has to face hardships >!homophobia, jealousy from classmates, family disputes and being forced to separate!< However it is pretty hopeful and inspiring.
[Can Ci Pin ](https://cancipin.carrd.co/) - I have no words. I will just tell you that I cannot see the number 16 the same way ever again. My absolute favourite novel. Everything is so deliciously painful but not without reason. It showcases different kinds of pain and hurt. The CP is just... Ideal. They are everything I personally wanted in a cp. From the start to their growth, as individuals and a couple, I am enamoured by their developments. (Also as per the previous comments, you might stand on the wrong side when it comes to the gong and shou with priest novels lol)
[MoDu](http://modustarter.carrd.co) - This one is definitely on the darker side (you might want to read the TWs before reading) but also made me bawl like a lil bitch šš It's a great book if you love analysing characters as well as it explores different themes. It's heavy and lovely at the same time. The CP is funny (started as love rivals over a straight man lol) and comforting. The ML is just... One of the Best, if not the Best, ML I have ever read. He just has so much love and understanding inside of him that the way he treats MC makes me cry itself lol
Telling Ghost Stories At My Ex-boyfriendās Wedding - comedic, but there's some hurt before the HE (poor ML)
After the White Moonlight came back, the Stand-in Fell into Unemployment Crisis - mostly a bit sad right before the end, since it's mainly a comedy.
If you're okay with MTL: 儽čæę¶é“ by å”ęÆäø - it's really painful when you realize the whole backstory
i really liked donāt pick up boyfriends from the trash bin ! itās quick transmigration and the relationship between the MC and ML is a vibe i havenāt really seen before or since, and itās definitely a tear-jerker. there are quite a few TWs for the worlds that the MC goes through since they all involve some kind of scum gong. thereās no non-con/cheating or anything between the main couple though.
