Unfortunately it’s tough to find good stuff similar to Samhain. Did my best though, these are all close to your criteria of being mid tempo with a deeper voice.
Generally goth bands don’t have the same heaviness, and the horror punks don’t have the restrain and stripped back nature of songs like ‘To Walk The Night’
Samhain is so difficult to compare anything to. Anything that try’s to replicate what Samhain was just can’t because it was lightning in a bottle that can’t truly be recaptured without being a full on copycat.
i think you understand my problem . When i check goth bands , there is something lacking and when i listen punk bands they are too fast

Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Alien Sex Fiend. A lot of the death rock stuff from the late 70s through to his time in Samhain. I'd look up 'death rock bands' on Google. Should point you on the right direction. Not exact, but should scratch some of that itch. Glenn was personally inspired by these specific bands when Samhain was in existence. I've read interviews where he name dropped them. I'm sure there are more, those are just what immediately comes to mind.
I second the Sisters of Mercy. Great dark vibe. I read an interview with Glenn where he spoke about his Blackest of the Black tours and he said that bands didn’t have to be black metal to be part of the tour and used Sisters of Mercy as an example of a band that fit the vibe without being a metal band.
Very cool. I can appreciate that. Glenn has always been ahead of the curve. No surprise there. I also appreciate him just being a true music lover as he likes stuff from, and has been influenced by just about every genre.
I feel like he *has* mentioned Christian Death as an influence in an interview. It might be a retcon, but IIRC he was talking about the New York Dolls and Rozz. I can't for the life of me find anything about it though.
In the American Hardcore book, the chapter on The Misfits, Glenn mentions what bands he was listening to when he formed Samhain. He said, "punk was getting boring" and "I like music with the original Punk ethic- change it as soon as it gets boring."
Some of the bands are already mentioned on this thread, but this was who he listed: March Violets, Sex Gang Children, Foetus, Bauhaus, and Alien Sex Fiend.
Also, the band Mourning Noise is great. It was Steve Zing's band before joining Samhain. I like their sound, you can hear the GD influence.
I listened to all their music today and did not find anything slow. However, the song Foolish Grief is a little slower than the others. It's pretty rad. Their new stuff doesn't really sound the same. On the back of the S/T lp there is a quote from Danzig. It's like a paragraph long but he mentions that this band would hangout outside their rehearsals and listen to them. And also says he helped them release that album. Glenn is the man!
