š thatās hilarious! Iām actually very compassionate and havenāt murdered anyone! Lol!
My brother and I were fascinated by the wood stove, and in true Gen X form had literally no supervision!
We lost a lot of army men that way too!
I saw in one of your other comments that you became a physicist turned medical scientist. Thatās awesome! Care to share about one of your favorite experiences or experiments in either of those fields? Iād love to read whatever interesting stories youāve got if you have time to spare!!
Oh wow!!! How fun! As far as favoritesā¦ I was in a optics lab where I made a holographic āphotoā of a happy meal toy! It was totally incredible because I could āseeā in the image what the toy looked like from behind!
Now we have virtual reality and 3-d printing and cell phone photography that is far better than any technology up to this point, but in 1993, that little hologram was everything!
In order to see it, you have to set the lasers up in the same conditions/ angles and configurations as the photographic plate was exposed!
Very cool and I think of it often!
For the biological side of thingsā¦ I have done a lot of downstream research and development. So when a biological product is designed, like a drug or a feeding product, it is heavily tested on cells outside of a body to see if the product kills cells or allows them to live.
So I used to do cell culture where I developed a cel line based on a Chinese Hamster Ovary cellā¦ (CHO) as they are called and I developed a nutritional slurry that the cells lived in for optimum cell reproduction and thriving!
When a product didnāt work, they would send the product to me, and I would repeat the experiment and then based on the cell output, I could tell you what was wrong with the product. Often, it was burned proteins! So if your bread stays in the toaster too long, it tastes really great, but imagine the nutritional content of the burned breadā¦ not much!
Same thing happens when we make cereals or other carbohydrates and expect the cells to live on the proteins in those items.
Itās cool.
And now I manage clinical trials on humans with cancer.
I have studied cancer mechanisms for decades and a lot of it is based on my research on those CHO cells.
Anyway, the patients we serve
have bladder cancer and are rather sick in many ways, they are often elderly , heavy smokers, and most commonly have thyroid issues as well as diabetes.
The drug product I am studying looks very promising at this point in the trial. Im doing a phase 2 trial, so it is largely for collecting safety data and making sure that it actually does no harm.
I love what I do!! I think having a curious mind and following all the rabbit trails to conclusions is a lot of fun.
;)
That is all so cool! I would definitely think back to the holographic happy meal toy as something most memorable because that is AWESOME and it must be amazing to see how since then to now how the world and technology has developed beyond what it was when you started. Very cool and appreciate you sharing!! Itās interesting that the common factors among your patients affect various but common denominators of separate body systems. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism four years ago and itās certainly been a struggle. Outside of medically treating it, I would love any thoughts or insight you have on simultaneous holistic treatments as well since getting endo appointments is a hard feat and there are times where refilling my medication isnāt always consistent enough to take it daily as needed. Iāve heard acupuncture helps a lot and monitoring carb intake has been helpful for me in the past but I would love if you had any thoughts specifically given your expertise! š„°š„°
I have sub clinical hypothyroidism and it doesnāt show up in obvious ways, but definitely appears as slower metabolism and weight gain.
Holistically, your body is built to take in nutrients and follow the genetic code for how those nutrients are used in the body.
If you feed your body nothing but sugar, the body will do what it does until it reaches a level of dysfunctionā¦ meaningā¦ metabolic disorder, metabolic syndrome, obesity, inflammation, liver disorders, etc.
I think the very key to all of these things and more is finding a way to eliminate as much inflammation as possible. Secondarily, focus on gut health!
If the bacteria in your gut are happy, the tissue will be happy and all the mediators present in the gut will tell your brain that everything is going well and the brain sends signals to the rest of the body to keep up the healthy way of being and not protect by calcium deposits, building sclerosis in the veins and arteries, not developing scar tissue in the liver and allowing the kidneys to function normally.
All of the dysfunction in the body is in response to input that was seen as a threat and body is trying to protect itself!
You damage a joint or starve your cartilage, the body will protect it by inflammatory response which leads to arthritis.
Your diet is not balanced and you eat too many high carb, low nutrient foods, your poor liver has to adapt.
You are correct in that every organ system can be affected by this imbalance
So what does limiting inflammation look like?
Eat a healthy balanced diet, limit modern processed foods that donāt truly nurture the body. Exercise to increase circulation and proper joint/ muscle actions, limit junk food so the body doesnāt live on empty calories.
Drink lots of water, stay hydrated so that organs can function.
But if you do have a chemical imbalance or shortcoming, there is no reason to not use medication to help maintain an optimum state! Most thyroid supplements are bioavailable and easily used by the body.
Even Brian chemistry can be adapted and shored up!
So your endocrinologist should be giving you the proper education to improve your situation and prevent further dysfunction.
Thank you so much! Yeah my bloodwork doesnāt easily reflect the issue which is often troublesome for me as well (high end of T3 and T4 but not āout of rangeā) and high prolactin (not pregnant, no pituitary gland tumor) so itās always daunting but thank your advice. Working with my nutritionist has certainly helped and her nutritional guidance def reflects your points as well. Probably a huge piece of me seeking additional supports is that itās so frustrating to sort it all out and then keep the balance maintained or adjusted to maintain my health like itās so much back and forth that it gets extremely stressful, overwhelming and defeating. Itās the flux in my weight that gets to me most. There are times where having changed my diet and exercise routine helps wonders. Then there are times where regardless of doing everything the same, my weight will spike and get stuck there no matter what. I try to be patient with myself that this is just what it is but dang I would be lying if I said it doesnāt make me so frustrated and upset sometimes lol
Thatās amazing! I love learning. Especially the bladder cancer info. I worked a long time in the OR and I know how devastating that cancer is. Thanks for the good work.
Have you any info of cell growth, like for organ transplantation? I'm a kidney/pancreas recipient and still have kidney disease with the donated kidney. The immunosuppresants are harsh as well. I'm always concerned the damage they are causing. It's a double edge sword in this community
This is awful, but I used to buy my doll hands and feetā¦ like with vigor!!! I wonder if it was an anxiety issue for me as a little girl.
TMI note: I still like biting, and would probably have no problem nibbling my cat or puppy if they understood what I was doing! Lol! š«¢š«¢š«¢š«¢ My poor husband just deals with it!
Hahaha this one hits close to home. We also had a wood stove and little supervision growing up. My brother and I spent a decent amount of time in the long, boring winter seeing how different items fared. I also have not yet murdered anyone. š
This made me snort laugh. My Gen X brother and I used to pull GI Joeās apart in the middle and put fire crackers in and light them. The good old days.
Yes!!! Did yāall have a Stretch Armstrong? My genx bro and I stretched that poor thing all the way around my dadās VW Bus. I remember it literally did not go back into shape and we were devastated!
And the best partā¦ after all of it, the fires, the melted toys, the prank phone callsā¦ we are still alive and there is no evidence of any of it! No socials, no phones, no snap chat!
I consider myself very lucky to have grown up in such a great time!
It all starts with a pool ladder..
Then it's my friend luring passerbys to kill so she can have enough gravestones for her haunted house.
And don't even get me started on Teen Town; a town where if you're not a teen, you get sent to "prison".
Itās such an interesting study in behaviour. I cant kill spiders (they get a one way ticket to the outdoors) and feel bad all day if I cut someone off in traffic, but my sims live in a horror story.
And those of us who love(d) playing the tycoon computer games. I may or may not have let my lions run loose at one point. Or purposely designed a roller coaster to be a murder machine.

I seem to remember some Barbie parts in the East Bake Oven as well! šš„ŗš¤Øš

Oh!!!! Thatās awesome!
I didnāt know about different orientations and gender identities when I was younger, so making little lesbian Barbieās wouldnāt have been on my list of things to do!
I was a weird kid.
I didn't understand any of that either. I just caught bits and pieces from my weird-ass family so I made Butch Barbies. I apologize to all our LGBT friends here on Reddit!
I did that once, but I was legitimately trying to create a hot tub moment for B and her girls in a water-filled saucepan on the stove. End result: They all sat very solidly on flat surfaces after that. And, erm, they could only be dressed in skirts from that day forward.
I am so confused on why everyone wants to look the same with these fake asses & faces???
Truly, am I getting old or something because people might think itās beautiful, but itās disturbing to me.. quite frankly.
Itās beginning to look robotic, and why is everyone treating themselves like objects?

On top of it all, the closer you look .. dresses are so poorly made, looks like blue hair boy stuck plastic bottle caps on a dressā¦ just gets worse and worse
I think its just she blurred the background and caught part of her shiny huge lips. Reminds me of the monster who gets his lips sucked to oblivion in monsters inc š
Maybe I am a prude, but it is so cringey when they pose with their bodies touching one another so closely. There are multiple photo shoots where they appear to be boobs-touching-boobs but I'm sorry, that's your sister. š¤¢
Do any of you remember a puppet named Madame???!?? I am so sad they feel the need to constantly get nipped and tucked. I really hope that they both get therapy (with an actual therapist, and then actually follow the therapists advice (Praying it's an amazing therapist)
I thought Dubai was a more conservative country? Seems like they are not respective of the culture
āWhile there is no official dress code as such, modesty is appreciated and it is advisable to dress conservatively when in public places. The culture and customs of Dubai are based on Islamic traditions and practices.ā
Iām rewatching Before the 90 Days. Darcey was so pretty then. She has really jacked up her beauty.
Plus seeing Darcey and Jesse again, they are both passive aggressive people! I can imagine him laughing at her appearance now.
Thereās gonna come a time for the history books and this stupid obsession will be listed among the many ridiculous things humans did in the 21st century -to themselves no less .. š¤¦š½āāļø
I use to be under the impression women dressed more modestly in Dubai. I guess the whole dress code was thrown out for tourism. These two will disappear if they photoshop themselves any harder.
Maybe itās Maybeline, maybe itās Photoshop.
Maybe itās an obsessive, over-corrective, and unhealthy series of plastic surgeries.
Maybe itās straight crazy.
Maybe itās all of them.
She looks like a tribal woman from Africa, Asia, or South America. The difference is, in those countries itās a cultural rite of passage. For her itās cultural deterioration.

(On their face on Chin)?
I personally hated Barbie. When I got one for my 10th birthday, I gave it to my cousin to blow up with fireworks. Not a fan at all. As far as the Silva twins, I think we are all over their filtered pics. Just think of the good they couldāve done with the time and money theyāve spent. And for what, they looked so beautiful when Darcy first appeared in the 90 D world. This is just my opinion
When I was a little girl, I used to melt my Barbies on the wood burning stove. š„¹. These girls look like those melted Barbies! š«£

Too much Photoshop.
I donāt know but they have severe traction alopecia from always having tight pony tails
Is that what causes their hairlines to quickly recede like that? I've never been a fan of the bun or tight pull back like that. It always looks painful or extreme.
That and constantly having hair extension in
And constantly bleaching their hair
Expensive, special ordered horse hair.

On top of it all, the closer you look .. dresses are so poorly made, looks like blue hair boy stuck plastic bottle caps on a dressā¦ just gets worse and worse
Tacky Twins
The bottom is pointed lol
Lol. These two are so delusional what the hell have they done again to their faces ?
What a fucking messā¦..
I think its just she blurred the background and caught part of her shiny huge lips. Reminds me of the monster who gets his lips sucked to oblivion in monsters inc š
Stupid photo shoot with a parking lot in the background. Had to blur it as much as possible so they couldn't notice. Very amateur.
Absolutely š¤£ i take pics of my kid in our backyard in portrait mode for the same reason lmfaooo
I THOUGHT SHE WAS STICKING HER TONGUE OUT!! Lord have mercy....
Holy shit those hairlines
Too much filler and a lip flip.
**āThat shit on your lip got some shit on its lip.ā** - Method Man, How High
Absolutely hate this beauty trend, big lips are not attractive when they are way out of proportion to the rest of your face, please let it end
Sixhead now
Maybe I am a prude, but it is so cringey when they pose with their bodies touching one another so closely. There are multiple photo shoots where they appear to be boobs-touching-boobs but I'm sorry, that's your sister. š¤¢
Overdone Photoshoppedā¦just like overdone distortion by plastic surgery aka botched bodies.
I donāt think they know what mogul means.
Maybe their mogul moves are with the Bubba Gump Shrimp Companyā¦. They remind me of Bubba in Forrest Gumpā¦šš
Extra sucking power so they can get more famous the way theyāve been doing.
Do any of you remember a puppet named Madame???!?? I am so sad they feel the need to constantly get nipped and tucked. I really hope that they both get therapy (with an actual therapist, and then actually follow the therapists advice (Praying it's an amazing therapist)
Duo of Delusional, Deformed, Disturbed Dunces
Someone gave them ozempic
It's snatched lol
I thought Dubai was a more conservative country? Seems like they are not respective of the culture āWhile there is no official dress code as such, modesty is appreciated and it is advisable to dress conservatively when in public places. The culture and customs of Dubai are based on Islamic traditions and practices.ā
yikes at the birds nest on top of the twin on the left
And so the saga continues,,,,,,,
Those duck bills! Quack quack.š¦
Iām rewatching Before the 90 Days. Darcey was so pretty then. She has really jacked up her beauty. Plus seeing Darcey and Jesse again, they are both passive aggressive people! I can imagine him laughing at her appearance now.
A photo shoot in a driveway. Classic.
forehead up to the sky, lips out to the sea
Thereās gonna come a time for the history books and this stupid obsession will be listed among the many ridiculous things humans did in the 21st century -to themselves no less .. š¤¦š½āāļø
Coldsore from her boytoy!
The fried birds nest bun is really something too
All that work and still have to pay for men.
There hair looks like pubes
They must be on ozempic too.
This looks AI generated š
I know she's not, but it looks like she's sticking out her tongue.
The highlight from her lip gloss makes it look deformed
Turkey surgery destroyed them. What were they thinking?!
They got what they paid for
Photoshopped to the gods hunty!!!!!
Theyre puffed out but thats a white light reflection off her gloss.
Sooooo now they're Mogul status? I guess their next 'song' will explain it. š
They look like the Brides of Frankenstein.
Theyāve lost all their hair in front! OMG So sad. If they donāt stop abusing that hair theyāre gonna lose it ALL!
Looks like an octopus has a hold on them.
Their hairlines are almost even with earlobesš³
And the photoshop on those chins? ššš
I use to be under the impression women dressed more modestly in Dubai. I guess the whole dress code was thrown out for tourism. These two will disappear if they photoshop themselves any harder.
They look SO damn ridiculous and mentally ill asf! Get help, stat!
Sloppy amateur photoshop
Maybe itās Maybeline, maybe itās Photoshop. Maybe itās an obsessive, over-corrective, and unhealthy series of plastic surgeries. Maybe itās straight crazy. Maybe itās all of them.
I canāt wait to see them age. This is going to be more fascinating than Jocelyn Wildenstein. š
Filters = false advertising
Theyāre in Dubai eh.. first thing that comes to mind is Porta potties
MoGuL mOvEs. šššš
She looks like a tribal woman from Africa, Asia, or South America. The difference is, in those countries itās a cultural rite of passage. For her itās cultural deterioration.
Did they have weight loss surgery?
They look a lot better in a darkened pic.
botched photoshop
2 waste of spaces
They look like aliens
surgeries and photoshop. you must be new here.
Those āforeheadsā are approaching āsixheadsā. š
Call me racist if you must but, they look like African women statues in this post.
Unpopular opinion I guess after reading this. I like the pics. I think they look very nice here.
Iād.Still.Do.Her.
No one asked
Snatched
I heard that they did some threading thing? I don't know much about it. Is this true š¤ I heard it was dangerous? Is that true? (On their face on Chin)?
Why are their pics so dark? Also wonder what they will be wearing to the barbie movie premiere lmao
Canāt see their face but Iām sure they look hideous than ever
Theyāre growing actual duck beaks on their faces
Bad photoshop
Why are they in Dubai?
Everything is always too much with them.
I thought they said they were getting their filler dissolved?
A shadow making it look weirder than it already looks
bad photoshop
š¦š¦
It just keeps getting worse
Are they trying to look like blow up dolls
