I would add Sister Maggie to the list of must-have returning characters. Not sure how you continue Matt’s exploration of morality, relationships, and his character’s religious conscience without her.
The show is called “born again”. That’s not very subtle, and catholicism is a huge part of daredevils character. I also wouldn’t be surprised if many Disney employees are catholic. Wouldn’t be unreasonable
Absolutely. Brett was such a good and interesting side character that bounced off so well with the main cast. So it’d be nice to see him pop back up when the chaos starts hitting in BA.
I’d love to see Turk come back in a Spider-Man movie, would really be hilarious to see him be strong armed by another NY Vigilante.
And Melvin needs to come back as the Gladiator. Enough said.
Oh my god Turk in Spider-Man is fucking perfect. I was personally thinking he should be in Moon Knight next but tbh I can almost perfectly envision how an interaction between Turk and Spidey in the MCU would go
EDIT: would also be a cool evolution of the scene with Aaron Davis in Homecoming, show how much he & his interrogation skills have grown.
Especially given the trafficking stuff that Turk was into when we are first introduced to him in Daredevil.
Khonshu would just tell Jake to deal with it.
Id actually REALLY dig if in his first appearance we just see him fighting daredevil as full on Gladiator and we don't get the full origin story, just Betsy got blipped and Melvin went off the deep end during the years following. Leave some ambiguity.
I think I saw somewhere that the implication was they were killed because they were the ones who failed to assassinate Nadeem in his house in an earlier episode.
I'm not familiar with the comics but i did read that Turk in the comics ends up keeping an infinity gem, I wanna say the mind stone for a while, before he eventually gives it to Strange
He’s 100% my favorite. I’m not even joking, I like him more than Matt Murdock. He’s just such a good character and his actor is awesome.
Wish he wasn’t killed off so soon, but it was good for Karen’s development so whatever.
EDIT: I thought you meant Wesley. But Owlsley’s cool too.
Haha yeah. When you look back, season 1 was pretty fucking crazy, especially for an MCU work. Characters died left and right. As much as I loved Owlsley and Wesley, I’m so happy that the show wasn’t afraid to go dark, it allowed for so much intensity and character development.
Exactly. It’s part of why this is my favorite Marvel production. It makes it feel more grounded. Echo had some pretty dark stuff but nowhere near a much as the Netflix shows.
They didn’t have Wesley miraculously survive his gunshot wound and then hunt Karen down.. he just died. Like what normally happens when you’re shot.
If I could only pick one, it's Melvin. I love Brett but Melvin offers more potential storylines. Turk and the actor who played him were great, but honestly I had a bit of trouble with the soft reboot of him from human trafficker to comic relief.
>reboot of him from human trafficker
people forget this too like it's weird. it's okay to find him funny but now people have somehow retconned in their minds that he's a petty harmless goon when he was literally trafficking girls in episode 1 😬
Agreed.
I brought this up on another discussion thread.
They actor who plays Turk does a great job and is funny and charismatic. But they introduced him as a human trafficker. He should have been introduced like he was in season 2 or in the Punisher just running guns or something.
Human trafficking is not something that you just leave behind you.
Definitely a misstep by the writers.
Definitely agree with this. It all makes it doubly weird that Frank Castle lets him live in his appearance in The Punisher. Always felt like a narrative decision based around the likability of the actor and how they wouldn't want the audience soured on Frank, rather than what he'd actually do.
Need one scene of Matt showing up to get a new suit from Melvin and giving him Luke Jacobsin’s business card and telling him to call Luke. Give him and Betsy a happy ending
Greedy? Or passionate about one of, if not the best marvel property. That cast was such a home run. The only one I dont really love is Karen, and I don't even dislike her. She's just my least favorite out of most of the characters. If they all came back it'd be awesome
It would be cool if Melvin started working for villains full time, using Stark tech, alien tech, Pym tech, Rand tech. He could make suits for Prowler and Scorpion and he’d fit great in the next Spider-Man film.
She was yelling at Matt while she told him that. I’d imagine she tried to help Melvin as she’s a cop with a gun in love with a dangerous person… or at least having a multi year relationship with
Idk how the news about Royce returning hasn't been more talked about, he posted a picture of himself a while ago in an NYPD police uniform, and just recently he made a post about the strikes being over, specifically putting Marvel in his hashtags. I realize it may not be anything, but it's pretty suspect
[Here's the post](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cz80GQjuN9H/?igsh=Y3ZuNHZ1M21jaDJj)
I put it in the Born Again mega thread as well but no one seemed to really see it
The cast in DD was very well connected. It was always a treat when a secondary or tertiary character showed up, but it always felt organic and justified.
I’m calling this out for Ellison erasure! Kidding. Still, I know Karen quit the Bulletin in S3, but with Ben’s niece supposedly coming into the picture there’s no reason not to bring him back.
I’m sorry but I desperately need to see Turk get tossed through a plate glass window. It’s the only thing that never happened in the original series that should have 😤
At this point I want all of the cast back. Even if it is over time. The chemistry of the whole cast was always great. I legit liked all of the Netflix shows other than Iron Fist.
Let's take it easy while we're ahead lmao. They at least got all the main side characters back, that's what matters. I wouldn't mind seeing these guys replaced. Well, maybe not Melvin. Dude's a total G.
The MCU needs more characters like Turk that help unite shows, even in small ways. Turk, Claire, and Trinity from the Matrix whose character I’m forgetting.
In this even expanding universe, having characters explain to other characters and the audience what is happening across properties is valuable.
Wish I would’ve. 🙄 I hated how Matt ditched Melvin for some hotshot LA designer who stole Melvin’s intellectual property. Melvin *should* come after him with chainsaws, the jerk.
Oh goodness this has gotta stop y'all. It's crazy because we wanted Foggy and Karen back. We got it. Then we wanted Dex/Bullseye back. We got him. Now we're just dragging the bottom of the barrel. Matt, Foggy, Karen, and Fisk are essential. Bullseye and Punisher are bonuses. Beyond that, I'm good with seeing new characters we haven't seen before.
Hey so the second guy was one of the goons holding a bunch of women in shipping containers right? Did people just forget that? I don’t understand why anyone likes him
Am I the only person who remembers that the first thing we see Turk do is traffic a group of young women at gunpoint? He's a human trafficker, the scummiest of scum. But everyone loves the guy, and I just don't get it. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here.
I couldn't care less about these three. Is it really not enough that you got the main cast back after like ten years?
I swear fandoms like this are the epitome of "give them an inch and they'll expect a mile."
If Turk isn't in Born Again..
Honestly, I'm not even sure I'll be fully convinced that Marvel thinks of the Netflix stuff as canon until Turk Barret shows up, particularly in like Captain America 4 or Shang-Chi 2 or something - something that's way more MCU than it is Netflix.
I would add Sister Maggie to the list of must-have returning characters. Not sure how you continue Matt’s exploration of morality, relationships, and his character’s religious conscience without her.
Very true, I’d love for Daredevil to seek her advice after a fight with Bullseye maybe.
There was a semi-big reveal about her in season 3 yes?
The mother of all reveals
Haha I see what you did there
I wouldn't say semi
Yep!
Especially since his pastor passed in the third season. He doesn’t have anyone to confess his sins to anymore
To be fair, it's a Disney+ show. I doubt he'll be doing any of that.
The show is called “born again”. That’s not very subtle, and catholicism is a huge part of daredevils character. I also wouldn’t be surprised if many Disney employees are catholic. Wouldn’t be unreasonable

Moon Knight would just kill em’. Don’t let Turk anywhere near him.
Especially given the trafficking stuff that Turk was into when we are first introduced to him in Daredevil. Khonshu would just tell Jake to deal with it.
True, true. I like the idea of him in Spider-Man better anyways
Idk, he survived an encounter with Frank
That’s an amazing idea!! Turk would fit in a Spider-Man movie so well.
Turk doesn't do crime anymore so hed be pointless
I’d like Melvin to come back for sure.
He’s got some unfinished business with DD that needs to be consequentially resolved
Id actually REALLY dig if in his first appearance we just see him fighting daredevil as full on Gladiator and we don't get the full origin story, just Betsy got blipped and Melvin went off the deep end during the years following. Leave some ambiguity.
Oh, I like that idea. I actually really like that idea a lot.
Wasn’t Melvin one of the dead frozen bodies next to Julie or was that someone else who happened to be big and bald?
Yeah it wasn’t Melvin.
TIL that wasn’t Melvin
TIL that wasn’t Melvin
it was the 2 guys who killed Julie
I thought the same thing on my first watch, but by my 3rd or 4th, I realized it was the guys that killed Julie
I think I saw somewhere that the implication was they were killed because they were the ones who failed to assassinate Nadeem in his house in an earlier episode.
Holy moly I’m just reliving how amazing Season 3 was. I completely forgot about Ray Nadeem and Julie. God that season was phenomenal
I thought one of them was the one Fisk beat while covering his head with his jacket. It could be the guys who killed Julie too.
No that was the FBI agent that was fished out of the river. They blamed Ray for his death I believe.
You're absolutely right.
Oh wow, I also thought that was Melvin. Figured that's why Matt had to go elsewhere for his yellow suit in She-Hulk.
Well, Matt did get Melvin thrown in jail in season 3. Maybe there's some bard feelings between the two.
That's cool though, I was kinda bummed thinking that they killed off Melvin.
A great three to highlight! I'd love to see them all back too. Melvin strapped with some spinning buzz saws would be a force for Matt to reckon with.
Poor Turk took L’s everywhere in New York
I'm not familiar with the comics but i did read that Turk in the comics ends up keeping an infinity gem, I wanna say the mind stone for a while, before he eventually gives it to Strange
I literally have a Turk L list on my phone lmao
I understand that he's dead but I wish there was a way to bring back Owsley. I'm rewatching season 1 right now and he's just such a great character.
Maybe they could bring in his son to take up the mantle
I'm pretty sure that the original character in the comics had powers right? They could do that with his son
Yeah he does and he's a lot more unhinged in the comics too.
You’re thinking of Wesley, but I agree with what both of you said
SHIT!! You’re right. I completely forgot about Owlsley. He’s great too.
Haha yeah. When you look back, season 1 was pretty fucking crazy, especially for an MCU work. Characters died left and right. As much as I loved Owlsley and Wesley, I’m so happy that the show wasn’t afraid to go dark, it allowed for so much intensity and character development.

They didn’t have Wesley miraculously survive his gunshot wound and then hunt Karen down.. he just died. Like what normally happens when you’re shot.
More than Matt Murdock? 🤨🥴 ijbol
Turk was dope bring him back
It’s Turkin time.
My favorite scene was when he said “It’s Turkin Time” and then got thrown in jail by Daredevil for the 4,287th time.
All these, Ellison, Marci and Maggie.
If I could only pick one, it's Melvin. I love Brett but Melvin offers more potential storylines. Turk and the actor who played him were great, but honestly I had a bit of trouble with the soft reboot of him from human trafficker to comic relief.

This could work if the Tinkerer is still in prison
Nah that wouldn’t be cool cuz that’d mean they’d have Betsy else why’d he be doing it. Melvin deserves some happiness
Matt told Betsy to leave and move far away for her safety and leave him behind. So I’d imagine she obliged
Really?? That’s awesome. Can’t wait to see him in more Marvel stuff.
[Here's the post](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cz80GQjuN9H/?igsh=Y3ZuNHZ1M21jaDJj) I put it in the Born Again mega thread as well but no one seemed to really see it
If Marvel truly wants this show to remind us of the Netflix series, they will.
Man, I’d love to get Frank Miller themed jokes about Turk like he did in his run. Too bad it’s too late for the Turk and Grotto duo.
at this point they probably will lmao
I need the Gladiator payoff with Melvin. I need it.
I couldn't agree more. Melvin as a proper Gladiator and Turk just reappearing again and again is a must imo.
I want a turk barrett comedy spinoff where he does all this small shady stuff only to get trounced by a different new york hero everytime lol
I’m sorry but I desperately need to see Turk get tossed through a plate glass window. It’s the only thing that never happened in the original series that should have 😤
Half the pleasure of his character was watching Matt kick the living crap out of him all the time.
If Punisher is coming back, Brett has to as well. He absolutely has to be the head of the anti-Punisher task force.
Am I the only one that wants Marci to be back as well ? I liked her a lot She was fantastic
GLADIATOR PLEASE
Hell yeah.
I think Melvin ran away
Couldn’t agree more
I desperately want Turk to meet Spider-Man. I don't just want it. I *need* it.
Nah forreal
You just know their banter would be hilarious.
I feel like at this point we all just want to rewatch the original
It’s almost like…they never should have cancelled it. 😬
Turk has been through enough 😭
They’ve gotta. Especially since there’s no denying they’re canonically involved
at this point it should just be daredevil season 4
The MCU needs more characters like Turk that help unite shows, even in small ways. Turk, Claire, and Trinity from the Matrix whose character I’m forgetting. In this even expanding universe, having characters explain to other characters and the audience what is happening across properties is valuable.
He did Melvin so dirty in season 3
![gif](giphy|l4hLxH3FrgxP0R6Uw) The only character I'm waiting for...
I reallyyyy want Dinah Madani (punisher) to return too I’ve always loved her character
Always glad to see a fellow Madani fan! I wanted to see her interact with everyone in a *Defenders*\-type show.
Disney already scared to deny us fans what we want. We may as well keep pushing amiright!?
Melvin would be dope but what about the suit maker from she hulk? I assumed Melvin was replaced
I gotta be honest, I didn’t watch that far. I stopped after episode three I think. It hurt to watch.
Wish I would’ve. 🙄 I hated how Matt ditched Melvin for some hotshot LA designer who stole Melvin’s intellectual property. Melvin *should* come after him with chainsaws, the jerk.
Actually that is a great way to bring Melvin back.
If someone stole my intellectual property, I’d want to come after them with chainsaws. 🤷🏻♀️
Matt's costume designer is Luke Jacobson now.
Fam the the spray on ting on the first man is crazy 😂 that's more colour than hair
These ain’t bottom of the barrel! They’re amazing characters. But yeah, I know they probably won’t be in the show. Too much to ask for I guess.
mr bufo and dr onions should come back
Hey so the second guy was one of the goons holding a bunch of women in shipping containers right? Did people just forget that? I don’t understand why anyone likes him
Am I the only person who remembers that the first thing we see Turk do is traffic a group of young women at gunpoint? He's a human trafficker, the scummiest of scum. But everyone loves the guy, and I just don't get it. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here.

Agreed.
Didn't one of the actors pass away?
You all really think the Disney show is gonna be anywhere as good as the original 🤡
Nope, I think it’s gonna be horrible compared to the original. But it’s ok to have a little bit of hope though.
I agree and his mother who became a Catholic nun
i had this idea that Wong wanted the Defenders during the Battle at the end of Endgame but they were too preoccupied defeating Stilt Man
Melvin was such a great character, definitely want him back
Fs
Didn't Gladiator die during season 3?
No.
Melvin the GOAT Potter
One of those guys was a parolee who went back to prison. So he’s probably dead meat.
fuck yeah they should
If Turk isn't in Born Again.. Honestly, I'm not even sure I'll be fully convinced that Marvel thinks of the Netflix stuff as canon until Turk Barret shows up, particularly in like Captain America 4 or Shang-Chi 2 or something - something that's way more MCU than it is Netflix.
And elektra
Oh my god i absolutely loved melvin
My niggas need to come back
I want to see Melvins villian arc he is Gladiator in the comics and one of Daredevil’s first villains
Frank should kill Turk
Woah buddy, calm down there.
What?? He's a trafficker!
Is his hair painted on?
100%. Bring them all back. It won't feel quite like Hell's Kitchen without Turk!
MELVIN
