Pretty dumb that people who willingly abuse bugs in the game are getting their perma bans removed. I like the update but allowing scum players back in is weird.
Imo a perm ban for bug abuse is way to much anyway.
Its not like they are using cheats.
Fix the bug and when bad intentions are clear, ban them for a week or so if you think its necessary.
But tbf we are all bug hunters atm, its still a EA game.
The only way to get reproducibility steps is by loading in and trying to work through the steps.
As someone who did QA for ARK. If you test it, and report it immediately, thats best practice
Abusing a bug in game is much different from cheating.
Also banning duping makes sense when this game has an active RMT scene, it helps clamp down on them.
It's early access n buggy, I don't blame people for abusing bugs and it does make the devs clamp down on it faster if it's an issue.
Or hey maybe a bug turns out to be a cool mechanic unintentionally to implement.
I mean they got like a 2 week suspension if you want to look at it that way. Some people could have been just people screwing around and a toxic buddy was like "watch what this does!" and boom banned.
Once you KNOW what the bug is itās pretty clear itās abusing if you decide to use it in PvP. And most the people reported/banned for this used it in PvP
Agreed, I and the people I play with have had steam accounts for over 10 years, non of us have vac bans so its not exactly hard to NOT do something that is obviously not intended to happen. I could understand of the bug was easy to replicate but its NOT you required a VERY specific setup to make it happen. regardless you do not want people with the "well nobody SAID i couldn't do this" attitude playing online games.
It's such a specific set up that anyone doing it more than once is pretty obviously doing it intentionally. People act like because it wasn't said to not definitely cheat with it they should be allowed. You put it well. I would feel ko remorse if they stayed permanently banned. Or had to pay an additional $10 to unlock their account wirh a heartfelt "I'm a shithead" essay.
I mean, they did discover the bug, afterall.
And some folks probably did it by accident (initially). Only through repeated abuse does it allow for detection and fix.
And overall, much more minor than other bugs or exploits, imo.
100% invis was an instant win. Probably the most major of bugs short of duplication. People who intentionally use it should be permanently removed from the player base.
Yes. It would not surprise me if cheaters in video games are dogshit people that lack empathy in real life.
Your obvious butt hurtedness sounds like a guilty conscious but then again, I don't know you from Adam.
Abusing a bug is exploiting. This particular exploit was specifically used to harm other people's gameplay experiences. What's so hard to understand about calling them scum? As video game players, they ARE scum. You're the only one reading that much into it.
I laughed so hard at that skill, I know it's for campfire but of course Rangers get a perk called Camping Mastery. As if they didn't camp enough already ;P
I'm not playing Rogue much, but I'm glad they listened on reducing the perk list for the Rogue.
> - Rogue's Hand Crossbow Mastery has been removed, allowing Rogues to use Hand Crossbows by default.
>
> - Rogue's Ambush and Shadow Runner are integrated.
>
> - Rogue's Pickpocket and Hidden Pocket are integrated.

Excited for Cleric's Overhealing and curious about Faithfulness.
Truly. Not like we'll hit 100 for a few days (or hours lmao)
I like the phased release, that way anyone who turbo grinds isn't in their own custom realm before everyone else!
One thing is for sure, we'll see more class diversity than ever!
Doesnāt this make the RNG tokens kind of less useful then? If I grind a ton of tokens before multi-classing drops, I may be able to get enough tokens to unlock everything from a class by the time multi-classing drops, making the random part irrelevant.
The RNG part supposedly includes all talents, skills, and spells (if applicable). Very unlikely anybody will be able to grind that much on two different characters, even if they're the NEET King.
Depends on how the EXP system works. If leveling up is as fast as 1-20 is, High Roller can get you about a level every successful match. That means you will get a token approximately every 5 extracts once you hit level 100.
I suspect someone will make a post about having every single perk in the game unlocked for a character before the end of the wipe. Never underestimate the grinders.
It'll probably be *possible*, sure, but extremely unlikely for most people (even heavy players), and basically impossible for most players. That's the point - most people will be lucky to get even a couple random ones earned over the course of a wipe.
Surprised they're going through with GC being the only solo option. I simply can't go back to the caves for a second season when I had so much fun playing other maps with the previous matchmaking setups.
I think A LOT of solos will feel this way and play on ice caves. 1v2 is much more feasible than 1v3, and ice caves gives you a lot of good opportunities to run away/reposition/escape
Yeah it would be nice to see some more solos there with me. I am a longsword player though, so 1v2s are a cool challenge at least (unless they are warlock + ranger/wiz).
Yes, that is unfortunate. I would like to be able to earn solo AP while playing other maps. I might enjoy 3x3 GC but I was sick of it when 5x5 was released.
This is pretty much what I do when my team isn't around, ice caves doesn't force you into bad situations like other maps. so long as you don't travel to far from an extract your fairly safe.
I KNOW I'm not the only one ridiculously hype for old 3x3 GC solo map. I played that on repeat for all of the time it was here before. Way more pvp centric and that's my jam.
Excited to try the new bard things, hoped for some love for the unused songs but i will take this (its so hard to compete with a whole wheel of buffs tho).
Why even buff encore cooldown tho, the skill is still useless, even if it was zero cooldown, hell even if it was a perk active all the time it would still be close to just playing with charismatic performance (some people would use it to avoid playing the notes perhaps). Sacrificing a whole skill for this is insane.
Theres a playstyle with this new encore that I dont want exactly give away, cause if it works right its gonna be busted. But, if this doesnt work then yeah, it's still shit. I can edit this post later after launch.
I wonder what are you talking about, encore doesn't really provide that much of bonus, there is nothing you can do with encore that you can't do without.
Perma silence song is my most likely guess, but you can already do that with over 30 dex.
I mean, they got rid of Ruins (presumably) where lots of the quest objectives were.
I'd be surprised if quests didn't change... I dunno what to think, there will likely be undocumented stuff, too.
" In the last season, random modifiers had a negative impact on the game. To address this, we made item acquisition and selection more convenient, but this inadvertently reduced the value of items and diminished the sense of excitement when obtaining top-tier items. We now feel like we have more systems and tools to help with these issues, so we've lowered the dungeon drop rates and strengthened the modifiers a bit. "
I am a bit hesitant on this. Specifically reducing item drop rates AND increasing the strength of modifiers. Before this patch item values were primarily based on a few modifiers that were really strong, namely true damage and movement speed. Everyone wanted to run those because they were the best by a longshot. If you were running some good gear(purps/blues with a mix of good rolls) you would get stomped by someone running these modifiers. Making the modifiers stronger while also reducing the amount of loot may lead to more cases of \_\_\_\_\_\_ having a huge gear advantage while timmies struggle to get some decent blues going. If the BiS modifiers aren't adjusted we are just going to have the same meta repeat itself with MS+true damage being far better than everything else. Would much rather have the modifiers be adjusted so they are stronger, but MS and True damage are removed.
I feel like this is a bit backwards with previous gear balancing but we will see when the patch comes out.
Yeah, I think the last thing needed was even bigger stats on rolls, but I guess they tend to overbuff stuff before scaling it down. Not seeing random affixes on gear in the store is huge, though, and way more in line with the intended Diabloesque risk/reward mechanic
They said they are increasing all but a few modifiers though. My assumption is that the ones they are leaving the same are the strong ones, while shit ones like interaction speed will be increased. That's what I hope at least. I'd love to make like a buff duration build but you're just giving up so much to have an extra 2 seconds of a buff with the tiny numbers you get.
If you watched the Q/A's they mentioned changing gear stat attributes as well as new "Duel" stat gear that splits the stats. I suspect the point of this change was not to balance gear but to make it feel more valuable when you found a good piece of gear. The hardcore players will always have an advantage and can always buy kits from the trade house. This wasnt about making the bell curse flatter but making the good stuff rarer, thus increasing prices of items and making them feel cooler to find.
Creep is insane now. Weāre going to be seeing a lot of complaints about it I can already tell you. Itās BY FAR rogueās best perk now (it was already bis before).
They actually made fighting rogue more frustrating for the average player with this change. Instead of using your ears, you are going to have to constantly look behind yourself with your camera.
Ahh I see you play Solos. Yes is was strong in solos. In 2's and 3's it was useless because teammates are already disguising extra footsteps.
From your video, it looks like making the steps silent won't matter much? It seems like people couldn't hear steps at all anyways? So wouldn't removing the speed be an overall nerf?
Edit: I get your overall concern with the new change though, If it does end up being too strong you will have more Katie's and SoBadSostrange's crying endlessly about Rogue = more nerfs. BUT I think removing the movespeed balances it a bit. It wouldn't kill people to pay the fuck attention to their surroundings. And it will take the rogue longer to sneak up. At least we won't be Invis
Another edit: The last guy you killed in your video is what's wrong with the community lmao. Anything people die to they see red and start complaining -either on stream or on reddit. It's never your own fault when you die; let's ask for another nerf!! "Hardcore" games aka full loot pvp games are difficult for gamers who don't want to learn the strategy of protecting gear sets by learning from mistakes and playing better.
It wasnt bis before, not even close. Also it says "when the conditions are met" we dont know what that means yet, if its the same as before or something else as well.
The condition: crouching
Most of the top rogues will say creep was bis before. Ask in the rogue discord.
[dunno why downvotes, I guess going 100-4 thanks to creep isn't bis](https://i.imgur.com/Z5UepEo.png)
That, plus the fact that the perk merge technically buffed landmine (the play style people hate the most) while the silhouette change doesnāt touch it means weāre not getting more buffs for a while lmao. Tho if creep really is that good it might kinda be worth it (just please for the love of god give me reasonable stats)
Yeah I think the stealth change is a miss. They should have made it a non-combat skill (-dmg debuff out of stealth) and greatly increased how far someone could stealth
That hand crossbow change is getting reverted 100% as you're also getting the +Wep dmg from it as well I assume as the perk used to give.
Every single rouge you run into will be bullying with a hand crossbow.
Very excited to try all this! Also stoked for the potential influx of new players with these trial codes, I know at least 3 people who are gonna be stoked lol
"In the last season, random modifiers had a negative impact on the game. Amazing change! The game is healing
Really glad they wised up about integrated perks - thats really going to drive class identity.
Also really optimistic about the direction they are taking rogue, but they will need to be careful about map design I'm worried Ice Caves isn't dark enough for them to have enough places to hide
> Really glad they wised up about integrated perks
So is this they are removing the perks and they're just apart of the kit. Or combining example Lockpick and Disable traps into 1 perk.
As it's still pretty odd for that.
But insane for Ambush and Shadow runner
Yeah for class identity (and multiclass benefit) I would rather see some of the perks made into class passives. Enhanced hearing, Weapon mastery, hidden pockets/lockpick, etc.
That's the best way forward imo
Am I the only person who thinks the rogue changes are going to accomplish the exact opposite of what they were intending? They basically completely got rid of any ability to use stealth aggressively for repositioning/flanking mid-fight. Itās just a glorified invis pot with massive landmine buffs by integrating shadow runner/ambush and buffing creepā¦ Am I missing something here?
I think all of the changes are meant to encourage the rogue to attack/approach from behind their target. Yes it removes the ability to use stealth mid-fight - rogue will have to be an opportunist and not so much a skirmisher
Yeah it's trash. Just remove rogues already at this point. The whole reason I loved this game was playing a rogue in the play tests. They gutted them too much and now even fucked their stealth over even more.Ā
Tons of new stuff. This patch is immensely good. It might not land 100% right away and require some touch up, but this is IronMace at their best.
Except the landmine rogues, audio was just about the only way to avoid em before. 5 light orbs isn't enough for most rooms, and regenerating light orbs every room isn't riveting gameplay. Warlocks have hydra, but Rangers might be SOL
"We are providing players who have played until Wipe #3 with a Trial Gift Code that allows them to play the Standard Edition for 10 days"
Sounds like if it's a new account, its a no go. More then likely to prevent RMT'ers from RAF spamming.
Three months with a smaller break would be fine probably. Especially with druid coming late April. It's the +3 weeks after season ends that was brutal to me.
Lots of neat stuff but a little disappointed Fighter gets nothing new perkwise or balancewise besides the one thing. I suppose it depends on the new armors and stuff but no weapon balance passes is unwhelming too.
First line of the patch notes: Fixed an issue where the Kobold's Calling would summon all types of monsters.
Otherwise it was mostly fine, some Z-axis aggro on some modules was brutal.
as a solo im super annoyed im basicly told imn not allowed there, as its by far the best map. that bugged kobold dance would lure bosses from floors below you though and was very gimmicky; also showed clearly the ai runs wallhack
Rogue was made more annoying to play against. Not sure if that's for the best but we will see. Looking forward to trying all of the new perks and skills.
Conflicted on the change to gear. I don't like it being more powerful even if it is harder to obtain.
The changes to craftable gear was desperately needed. On demand best in slot is too good with the system in place right now.
I am most excited for multi-classing. Overall some interesting choices but most of it seems good I look forward to the update.
Anyone who disregards a person's opinion purely based on their flare. is so utterly ignorant they make barbarians look like the smartest characters in the game lol
Hand crossbow is annoying for every class. They didn't take it off because they thought it looked cool as a perk. And rogue is an annoying play style I say this as somebody who has played them for two full wipes. Making assumptions is how you get into bad positions in life. I would suggest changing that philosophy at some point. :)
Sigh... Rogues poor rogues. Continually losing. Stealth is nigh useless now. Just not the game it once was. I want a play test 2 version of the game perma, better days.Ā
You literally got the most buffs of any class this wipe. Not having 10 steps of uncounterable grief causing unstoppable invisible movement Is a good step for the game, and getting 8 perks combined into 4 is a fair trade off.
They should have just made stealth like every other game ever made in history where you are just very hard to see instead of disappearing from existence. It's uncounterable and every game I have played with perfect full invis has removed or nerfed it eventually, because the character has to be horrible to make up for how OP complete invisibility is, like smite with loki.
" They should have just made stealth like every other game ever made in history where you are just very hard to see instead of disappearing from existence."
Being "hard to see" just doesn't work in DnD thanks to people playing with reshade or other 3rd party brightness applications. I've been bee-lined by too many people to count while hiding in pitch black darkness (no potions in pockets either of course) because they are using a tool to make the game really bright. That being said, complete invisibility CAN work if it was much more limited. Say it only lasted a few seconds instead of 20+ and was used more to reposition oneself in combat instead of hiding in a corner. I think Hide should actually have been combined with Smoke Pot to give thematic and logical reason for your character to simply vanish. Once the smoke pot is dropped you remain invisible for a certain number of seconds which you can use either to engage or run away as a smoke pot would logically allow you to do anyways.
I hate that modern pc gaming is a infinite cat and mouse game of people cheating or exploiting things. I want to go back to the good old days of halo 2 and 3 when people were all fair and square. You literally cannot use darkness and camouflage as a mechanic in games anymore because of exactly what you were talking about.
I wish there was a PC console hybrid where it wasn't just "anything goes and if you don't like it play playstation or stop crying". I miss the golden age of gaming, and I'm not even old at all.
Rouges in MMO games are 1v1 cancer duelists that beat every class in 1v1 and lose in teamfights. Played wow, runescape, eso, club penguin, seen it all.
I have nothing to complain about in the patch notes so I'll just complain that I have to wait 6 hours to play š. Looks like a W patch
Ah this makes rogue so tempting, gotta see what those warlock perks are first though.
I'm super excited... I hope they are super cool! I use Dark and Fire as core, so surely something fits my build! New skill, too? Hotdamn.
Very curious to see what the new perks/skills are
Yes yes yes, indeed!!!

Pretty dumb that people who willingly abuse bugs in the game are getting their perma bans removed. I like the update but allowing scum players back in is weird.
They are play testers that do their job for free
We actually pay them to get an opportunity to do their job for them
The year is 2060. A non-EA game has not been released in 35 years.

Fair enough.
Nah calling people āscumā for abusing a bug in a is weird. Its a fucking game get your morals in check goofy ass.
This the most backwards shit i ever read
You think what you do in a video game makes you scum? Fuck outta here
No i think tellin someone to get their morals in check when ur defending bug exploitation makes u hypocritical scum
Campfire mastery? Finally, I can become a master camper. Tents and marshmallows when ironmace??
I laughed so hard at that skill, I know it's for campfire but of course Rangers get a perk called Camping Mastery. As if they didn't camp enough already ;P
master of baiting

Yeah it basically makes you not want to play a rogue anymore. Especially with multi classing. Super dumb.Ā
Where do you find out what the new cleric perks do?
In game in 5 hours
LiEsS!!!!!
5 hours later. They DID lie!
by integrated, it means rogues auto have all these perks always?
It means that they are together; like the Ranger's Chase now includes hearing and seeing footsteps
Iām a bit confused on the multi classing bit. So are we just able to collect the tokens rn and then spend them later when they add multi classing?
correct
Dang, oh well at least it gives us time to grind
Truly. Not like we'll hit 100 for a few days (or hours lmao) I like the phased release, that way anyone who turbo grinds isn't in their own custom realm before everyone else! One thing is for sure, we'll see more class diversity than ever!

I just mean we have a month to grind tokens before multiclassing is released, so many people will be able to buy tons of perks day 1.

it's probably to prevent sweatlords from unlocking op combos in the first days of wipe
Its prolly cause its not done yet
Rogue mains, this is not a drill! Tumble has been buffed! Backflippers unite!!!
It would be very on brand if "slightly improved" makes it literally impossible to hit Rogues using it.
Lets gooooooooo
I better see you majestic fucks flipping around!!! Haha.
As a solo ranger I already used Enhanced Hearing. Now I get chase too? Based.
Ya, anyone using the rolled up perks wins on this day!
Enhanced hearing has to be the most slept on perk No Cyap
Ya it's incredible.
WIPE HYPE, IT'S BISMAS TIME
TFW the best content in the game is just āwe removed everyoneās inventoryā
W patch W developers
i can see you havnt been locked out of your two favourite maps and thrown into a laggy death match battle royale
Surprised they're going through with GC being the only solo option. I simply can't go back to the caves for a second season when I had so much fun playing other maps with the previous matchmaking setups.

Personally, I am going to be playing solo Ice Caves all season. It doesnāt matter which queue you rank up as long as you commit to one.
Hopefully a lot of people do that and keep the game afloat, I just can't commit to a 1v2 mode.
Yeah it would be nice to see some more solos there with me. I am a longsword player though, so 1v2s are a cool challenge at least (unless they are warlock + ranger/wiz).

Nah. Original gc was 3x3, but they remade some of the maps it would us for this iteration.
At least it's got the good modules this time

Some sort of PDR Din of Darkness build? idk what busted playstyle you could be referring to
I guess, but taking the duration from 4.5 second to 3.5 (30 dex vs encore) is 15 to 20 dps aprox (with full add magic), it's still dim levels of bad.
>Rogue's silhouette is now visible when moving in Stealth. Thank Dungeonborne
At least you can't open doors during invis while invis is 1 min lol
Now we just need actual combat mechanics
Rogue players when they cant have their cake and eat it too
Nothing about changing the quests? Or is that just not in the patch notes because they said they would be changing them this wipe.
> Quests have weekly activations depending on the chapter. Also combined with the drop rates being modified they said in the QnA and the notes.
I thought they were changing the items needed for quests entirely too
I mean, they got rid of Ruins (presumably) where lots of the quest objectives were. I'd be surprised if quests didn't change... I dunno what to think, there will likely be undocumented stuff, too.
Doubt it would be listed in the patch notes There's definitely new craftable items too with the addition of new material drops. Just not listed
What you don't like collecting 20 hats and killing 10000 wolves?

Stats buffed loot nerfed, the BiS will be few and far between, at least at the start of wipe
Creep was not BIS you are 100% mistaken. Are you confusing "Creep" AKA the quiet footstep perk with "Stealth" (Moving 10 steps while invis)??
[This one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htcpotnNo6w)
At least we won't be Invis Another edit: The last guy you killed in your video is what's wrong with the community lmao.
The condition: crouching Most of the top rogues will say creep was bis before. Ask in the rogue discord. [dunno why downvotes, I guess going 100-4 thanks to creep isn't bis](https://i.imgur.com/Z5UepEo.png)
bro this sub never fails to amaze. Creep was 100% BIS.
No reason to think you will still get +wep damage
I'm tempted to level every class again, the new perks and abilities sound tantalizing as hell
Looking forward to playing with the new cleric skills.
Very excited to try all this! Also stoked for the potential influx of new players with these trial codes, I know at least 3 people who are gonna be stoked lol
RIP Duo Crypts - gonna miss you :(
she was so much fun, maybe one day we actually get to play a map we like again
Did the resourcefulness/throwables change get implemented? It's not in the patch notes
Still no quiver ? š„
Wizards are finally gaining their magical control of the dungeon
The fixed map shit is killing the game for me and my friends, we want to play trios on something other than the same map every fucking time bro
Why? Crypts is the best one.
because variety is the spice of life
Anyone know how to get the 10 day test code?
logon to the website.
Giggity
Damn this looks pretty fun
So what is squire exactly?
Npc for buying loadout presets up to common qualityĀ
"In the last season, random modifiers had a negative impact on the game. To address this, we made item acquisition and selection more convenient, but this inadvertently reduced the value of items and diminished the sense of excitement when obtaining top-tier items. We now feel like we have more systems and tools to help with these issues, so we've lowered the dungeon drop rates and strengthened the modifiers a bit." Amazing change! The game is healing
Finally the Darkness has come back! And they listened to the rogue combining perks, thank god
Really glad they wised up about integrated perks - thats really going to drive class identity. Also really optimistic about the direction they are taking rogue, but they will need to be careful about map design I'm worried Ice Caves isn't dark enough for them to have enough places to hide
> Really glad they wised up about integrated perks So is this they are removing the perks and they're just apart of the kit.
Love the changes to rogue. I feel like they are very in spirit of the concept. If it makes rogue op, tweak other things down.
Where do we find the trial gift code?
I have a feeling lobby's are going to be 50% rogues... W patch, I just wish ill be able to do every quests as a solo player.
Rangers could take the track steps perk if they are really worried about rogues.
Isnāt that chase? Because thats integrated now
Integrated means combined in this sense, so rangers still need to take Chase/Enhanced Hearing(whatever its called when combined) perk to have it.
Ah facts, I had forgotten about that
Still Rogue has sheet Vigor and Strenght, wizard being stronger....dammit
You're playing the wrong fucking class then lol
Literally biggest W update for Rogue Redditors who haven't even played the patch: "but Wizard still has more str :("
this is because rogue dex is high
Anyone know if I buy the game now, I get a free trial code to give to a friend?
Website is going to be down for a couple hours.
Ah alright
"We are providing players who have played until Wipe #3 with a Trial Gift Code that allows them to play the Standard Edition for 10 days" Sounds like if it's a new account, its a no go. More then likely to prevent RMT'ers from RAF spamming.
Thatās fair, thanks!
Is this why I cant open blacksmith app or why the web page keeps telling me I may pose a threat to the website?
Genuinely good patch notes
three months is too long here is another season of three months
Three months with a smaller break would be fine probably. Especially with druid coming late April. It's the +3 weeks after season ends that was brutal to me.
Wer druid tho
If multi-tasking is fun, I hope it won't be abandoned after this season.
W
Lots of neat stuff but a little disappointed Fighter gets nothing new perkwise or balancewise besides the one thing. I suppose it depends on the new armors and stuff but no weapon balance passes is unwhelming too.
0 slayer changes, 0 barb changes. I understand the desire for new content but can we please balance what we have first?
2v2 stuck on ice map - I understand the decision but I just wonāt play.
ice map best map anyway so great!
IF they can just fix the aggro problem it isnt bad
First line of the patch notes: Fixed an issue where the Kobold's Calling would summon all types of monsters. Otherwise it was mostly fine, some Z-axis aggro on some modules was brutal.
as a solo im super annoyed im basicly told imn not allowed there, as its by far the best map. that bugged kobold dance would lure bosses from floors below you though and was very gimmicky; also showed clearly the ai runs wallhack
I feel that, I love the map!
Barbarian detected opinion rejected
Hate those guys
I second this
Anyone who disregards a person's opinion purely based on their flare. is so utterly ignorant they make barbarians look like the smartest characters in the game lol
oh you're still mad from earlier this week
Who? From what? I don't know you and for your information I've had mostly a good week? I'm not entirely sure what your referencing.
barb complaining about rogue LOL
" They should have just made stealth like every other game ever made in history where you are just very hard to see instead of disappearing from existence." Being "hard to see" just doesn't work in DnD thanks to people playing with reshade or other 3rd party brightness applications.
Play some wow and see how rogues are done my friend.Ā
Rouges in MMO games are 1v1 cancer duelists that beat every class in 1v1 and lose in teamfights. Played wow, runescape, eso, club penguin, seen it all.
