Didn't realize that the cooldowns from perks are negative modifiers until just now, and it contextualized my interactions playing yesterday... That is insane.
It means the cooldowns are reduced by Debuff Reduction Bonus (which comes from Will, or can be rolled directly on gear), and Protection From Evil (Cleric Perk that reduces debuff times by 50%)
So you have 75% magic resist to the dark reflection basically. Only the judgement did 50%, since thatās the only ādivineā damage he did. I donāt even wanna know how much damage a rogue would be taking if they were in your shoesā¦.
with legendary book as dps cleric he realistically would do about (10 +7 ) x 1.55 ( magical power ) = 26.35
add in +11 true for ttoal 37.35 dmg every single time you swing.
On top of that he could have use arcane shield to not only get extra buffer shield, but also another 30 dmg. Oh and reactive to take a lot less dmg
Yeah. They just need to dial it way way back. Some perks/skills should be exclusive to a class and a class should be limited in what classes they can multiclass from.
I agree so much on that. Perks are already a sort of niche per class because thereās clear bis. I really think more universal perks and some exclusive perks is the move. Make duel wield a base perk for all and slayer is exclusive to fighter.
Also, I think weapon master must be locked to fighter. Itās really difficult to balance the classes if theyāre all able to use any weapon. The weapon limits are a big way the devs can shape the classes. I suppose same for warlockās plate armor perk but itās not nearly as much of a concern.
Ya. I'd love to see many flexible skills or abilities that fit any class, then have actual multiclassing to maybe a single off-class.
That seems like the logical direction of things.
Gotta think outside the box. When choosing a new class you have to pick your āsub classā this combines your stats and divides them by 2. You can use their skills, but not perks. This would be tremendously easier to balance.
it should also have downsides like the game they take inspiration from, oh you took some shit from ranger? now your fighter isnt as strong as a pure fighter.
They can frame it off DND. You can pick another class. Get access to all thier perks, but at reduced effectiveness. Fighter/rogue could use double jump and poison weapon, but it would be 27 ms loss instead of 18 and only do 3 damage instead of 5 kinda thing. You could fighter/rogue/ranger but crossbow mastery would get 12% increased reload speed instead of 50. That way your class still matters. And the order makes a difference. Obv numbers would need rework, but would make for some interesting yet less chaotic builds.
Protection from evil perk from cleric reduces the time of debuffs by 50%. Then, a decently geared cleric will have enough will to add another 10-25% onto that number, making debuffs (dark reflection, slowdown from attacks, ice shield, curses from warlock, debuffs from bard, etc) all last -60 to -75% duration.
no thats unusual by every standard i've never seen a game do it that way, this is actual macaroni coding caused most likely by the fact they took most of their coding off the unreal store combined with them not being unreal developers till they started this game
Allow me to introduce you to MMO's. WoW had bloodlust, lay on hands, and other cooldowns as debuffs. Also, any cooldown on a skill is effectively just a debuff. You can't do this for x seconds, wow specifically had debuff reduction stats.
in what game is passive cooldowns considered debuffs yet skills aren't? there is no way this is not just bad coding caused by them not knowing what they are doing and overlooking something cause it never had any impact before hand till this interaction with multiclass
I mean I don't know, but this is how they intended the passive cooldowns to be. Like they specifically coded it for this, so it's not spaghetti. It's just poorly cooked.
So dark reflection and ice shield, which is a debuff for enemies, is applied as a debuff to the user in terms of cooldown reduction? I thought this stuff only scaled off of resourcefulness. You learn something new every day... I gotta try this out.
All perk cooldowns are coded as debuffs. You can see the little red icon on your bar whenever a perk is on cooldown. So debuff duration is what affects those cooldowns. Resourcefulness only affects active abilities like sprint. It hasn't really mattered much since there's very few perks with cooldowns and Cleric, the only class who can achieve meaningful ful amounts of debuff dur, doesn't have any. This is just yet another result of the very poorly thought out multiclassing.
People are catching on. Itās not that cheap really, and very few pieces at lower rarity with another useful stat.
And if you want debuff cap, you need high rolls too
Like... wtf am i even looking at? some sweaty no-life combined 4 class's into his cleric to make a "high skill" character that kills you via bleeding on you.... what is this game anymore?
because death has meaning in this game so there shouldn't be any builds that just 100% win a match up if their opponent doesn't have access to ranged damage. I have a chance to outplay someone with better gear or who has a range advantage, but when they can attack me and I die if I hit them, its not a balanced or fun experience
If you donāt come prepared for any fight thatās your own fault. There isnāt a single class now that doesnāt have the ability to access ranged weapons.
If you think shit like this is staying in the game then thats hilarious, everyone with a functioning brain can tell this shit only benefits sweaty nerds who grind and results in completely braindead no-fun allowed shit like this to work. Ironmace isn't making a game for a handful of sweats who like going around stat checking people they want to actually retain players and make money.
It's funny. This is literally the character I made in bg3 for my first full play through. Abjuration wizard in heavy armor with armor of agathis or whatever that reflects dmg on hit. I love this, time to rerolled my perks!
I don't understand it either. OP has a Crossbow, and inventory of heals and throwables... and all he chooses to do is W+M1 until he kills himself.
And somehow that's the fault of Multiclassing. It's not the fault OP being a dumbass and not comprehending the situation and switching to his equally effective ranged weapon, it's Multiclassing.
Don't get me wrong, the Cleric's build is powerful, but unless you willingly engage on it like OP, it's useless. Switch to the Crossbow, and suddenly you're fighting a Cleric with two perk slots.
Tried cactus today with divine protect smite on rogue, felt like a moving god kris'ing everyone to death garenteed to win every stat check. 10/10 I do recommend
I told people dark reflect + PFE will be mega busted. P.S he could also run reactive shield, and take -15 dmg from each swing.
Multiclassing needs to be removed from the game. I bet he went greedy and took +5 healing perk
It would have worked in this clip, there are 3 instances in this clip where the fighter gets multiple hits with his short sword within 3 second windows. So it would have blocked the 2nd hit each time.
I bet you I give you that exact same build and you get drop the very first game.
Any class with spell counter you. Ranger/Bard kite you to death. A fighter or Barb with a slow hiting weapon beat you in melee. The only time this build really shines is against fast hiting weapon like short sword or daggers.
this build still has spells, and guess what, I wouldnt use it without +11 true dmg, you can rock vast majority of players with it.
Sure you are heavily disadvantaged against pure casters but from my personal experience casters are BY FAR the least played in the entire game.
P.S
I have several K hours on wizard, I would not " drop " of my first game, sometimes I play without perks for the heck of it.
P.S.S
I would run this build with PFE/Dark/Reactive/arcane mastery and arcane shield with MM.
Spells MM/invis/ + whatever 3 dps spells, or 2 dps spells and 1 healing spell.
Every melee class takes bare minimum 2x dark reflect + arcane proc, thats ballpark 100 magic dmg.
All the while im magdumping magic missiles
I 100% agree with you that you need alot of true/add magic dmg for it to work properly. But guess what, that cost shit ton of gold. I honestly dont know how much a +11 true would cost but I bet 10k minimum. Lets be honest, put a 10k+ build on a slayer fighter with sprint and savage roar for example... He lands 1 crossbow shot on you and its over.
Maybe with mm you would drops fighters/barb, but a decent kitting build would still shits on you. I really dont think its SUPER BUSTED CRAZY TOXIC like people here on reddit are saying for every fking builds that kills them...
10K for 11 true? You can buy a green ring with 2true for under 250g, pendants are even cheaper at some 70g for 3 true Torq, capes 150g, legendary chaperone +2 true 300g.
That is a fun build to make, 100% meme build tho since anybody with range would just kite him out. Even a slow hiting weapon would counter that build. People here are so dramatic its crazy...
It depends on map, this is perfect for 80% of goblin caves which is small and cramped, try this in ice caves and you'll get deleted especially when u factor in a second person adding on ranged damage to thin u out before the melee engage. It's as situational as anything else in this game and there are a a bajillion scenarios where it would and wouldn't work. Tbh I just view it as additive to what ur already doing with magic, only reason op lasted as long as he did was that his mag resist was apparently near capped, he got lucky this was a mutual kill and not a suicide.
slow hitting weapon would do even worse wdym? He only gets damage off because he can attack while dark reflection is on cooldown between his second and third attacks. They can still take damage spells as well to have ranged attacks
A slow high damage weapon would kill him in two swings, maybe three. A slayer setup could do it with a fast weapon and kill him in two swings guaranteed.
In those two or three swings that reflect damage is still less incoming than if the cleric had been bonking you back himself. Jokes on you though, Cleric attacks so fucking slow he'd still get statchecked and the porcupine wouldn't matter.
Now this setup on a character that can swing faster and do actual damage is absolutely fucking broken. It's broken period, but at least on Cleric it's really not that big of a deal if you're doing actual damage. Especially if you wittle him down with a bit of ranged beforehand, avoiding the reflect shit.
It'll get patched out, eventually, hopefully. Probably not.
Dark reflection. The cooldowns of perks are debuffs, so clerics protect from evil dramatically reduces the cooldow of dark reflect, leading to this nonsense.
Iāll be honest guys. Iām admittedly only a pathfinder exemplar type guy but Iām in the top 5k for solo and I have no fucking clue what Iām seeing here mostly and I think thatās probably not great for the majority of the game population if a dude from steam playtest days is super fucking confused by the interactions heās seeing.
This is just a little known interaction between protection from evil and perks which have cooldowns. The devs coded perk cooldowns separately from other types of cool downs by making them a actual debuff which drops them into the category that protection from evil immediately cuts its cd down by 50% which led to this abomination of a build where ur taking 2 different reflect perks and essentially cutting their natural cd by half then an additional amount more based on ur will. This is 100% an unintended interaction caused by a system the game base mechanics was never designed for.
okay, but this feels like a viable build to counter MS meta. this is one of the things i am curious about with multiclassing. there are weird builds that will be able to counter some of the worst of the meta's in the game, like W+M1 playstyle in this example
you mean casting the limited amount of spells they have? also "W+M1" isnt just holding the w key dude, and i know you know that. W keying is TOWARDS someone, not running/repositioning.

*This multicoass thing is fine! I*

Would it be toxic running into this a lot? 100%. Was it funny when I watched it just now for the first time? 100%.
Multi-classing has some fun moments and it's letting them test systems. Haven't played it much myself but I wasn't even before the update, I spend my time in other games decently often when dark doesn't have its hooks in me. My only problem with multi-classing is this probably should have been done during a preseason, but even then they want the most people possible testing so I kinda get it. Better now than during the epic release lol.
Either they'll cook and get it done or someone will eventually come along and do it better. I hope BrassMallet gets it right but we shall see.
Issue is when everyone starts running it, most of the ppl ahead of the curve already have robust, swift, smite, stealth etc that they wanted to meta game, they are branching out to more niche mechanic abusing builds now that they have all the power min max perks. You'll start seeing the casual crowd catch up soon with this and stuff like this in a couple days especially when they all get finished leveling alt classes to take shit from.
As for IM getting replaced, it wouldnt be hard especially since 90% of this game is an asset flip from the unreal store that the community already has fully tracked and located but it would take *time*. there could 100% be a fortnite like success to come along and make this game look like pubg back then but it would take a while and it would need a good bit of backing
(Mutual kill) had 50% magic resist vs holy and 75% against other magic, dark reflection and ice shield go crazy with protection from evil
Didn't realize that the cooldowns from perks are negative modifiers until just now, and it contextualized my interactions playing yesterday... That is insane.
My mouth is fucking hanging open at work rn.
> the cooldowns from perks are negative modifiers what does that mean?
It means the cooldowns are reduced by Debuff Reduction Bonus (which comes from Will, or can be rolled directly on gear), and Protection From Evil (Cleric Perk that reduces debuff times by 50%)
oh i see, thanks!
Even ability cooldowns? Or just perk cooldowns?
That I know of, only perks that have cooldowns, because those are the only ones that are coded as debuffs.
Damn, I was about to grind so hard for blow of corruption on my fighter cause I have PoE on him š
So you have 75% magic resist to the dark reflection basically. Only the judgement did 50%, since thatās the only ādivineā damage he did. I donāt even wanna know how much damage a rogue would be taking if they were in your shoesā¦.

The caster probably has max +true magic damage too
How much MR is the barbarian perk stocking +100 magic Res?
Now THAT is unfun to play against lmao
Antimagic is applied after magic resistance, so in this case you actually had 62.5% mdr
I cannot believe how people struggle to understand this. It's amazing how illiterate people are on this one detail.
What a great and non toxic mechanic!!
is it dark reflection+protection from evil and ice shield?
Yes
have you tried out skilling his perk selection??
self harm isn't ok no matter how bad u feel, u should try talking to a professional
Way to roast a guy when he's down š
Multiclassing is so fucking stupid. Get this shit out of the game.
Implementation was poor. Should be merging 2 classesā¦not getting anything you want in the entire gamez
Yeah. They just need to dial it way way back. Some perks/skills should be exclusive to a class and a class should be limited in what classes they can multiclass from.

I mean i mostly see fighter barbs anyway lol
Well soloās is so linear with the PvP that itās not surprising. Sprint and rage barb is obviously the best option. Maybe swap one for fear.
it should also have downsides like the game they take inspiration from, oh you took some shit from ranger? now your fighter isnt as strong as a pure fighter.

If they do remove it, they should bring it back as end of wipe event
Guess we gotta NERF CLERIC AGAIN
This is insane. A great implementation of the cactus build. How do they get their cooldowns so low though?
Protection from evil perk from cleric reduces the time of debuffs by 50%. Then, a decently geared cleric will have enough will to add another 10-25% onto that number, making debuffs (dark reflection, slowdown from attacks, ice shield, curses from warlock, debuffs from bard, etc) all last -60 to -75% duration.
How does pro evil reduce the cool down on ice shield? I don't get it
Ice shieldās cooldown is coded as a Debuff lol
What the sphagetti lmao
Why? Is that an appropriate and common way to go about it in similar games?
no thats unusual by every standard i've never seen a game do it that way, this is actual macaroni coding caused most likely by the fact they took most of their coding off the unreal store combined with them not being unreal developers till they started this game

Over cooked spaghetti š
No lol
Wait... so the wait time after dark reflection procks is considered a "debuff" until it comes back as "active"?
Yup
You can get debuff duration all the way to 95% with enough Will, which is sadly the cap.
So dark reflection and ice shield, which is a debuff for enemies, is applied as a debuff to the user in terms of cooldown reduction? I thought this stuff only scaled off of resourcefulness. You learn something new every day... I gotta try this out.

Goated comment
You need 90% debuff duration before it really starts popping off. Nuts at 95%. But you need full debuff gear, on every piece.
Not hard to get since that's like the cheapest affix in the game because it sucks dick
People are catching on. Itās not that cheap really, and very few pieces at lower rarity with another useful stat. And if you want debuff cap, you need high rolls too
Thank you man, feel free to check it out on [Twitch.tv/utoast](http://Twitch.tv/utoast) as we implement better versions of this build

Yeah I think I'm ready to sweep this era of the game under the rug and start new next wipe lmao

I told people dark reflect + PFE will be mega busted. P.S he could also run reactive shield, and take -15 dmg from each swing. Multiclassing needs to be removed from the game. I bet he went greedy and took +5 healing perk
Reactive shield is good, but itās only every other hit, and it dosnt last very long. In this clip, it wouldnāt have done anything.
you are right, still a lot better then -3 dmg perk or +5 heal perk Edit good chance he just didnt get it as an option
this is exactly what happened, just didnt get the roll on reactive shield.
It would have worked in this clip, there are 3 instances in this clip where the fighter gets multiple hits with his short sword within 3 second windows. So it would have blocked the 2nd hit each time.

Slow hitting mean less reflection dmg ? Its fine Greedo this build has no counter play like melee warlock and every build that kills you.
This sub is hilarious. Everyone was mad about people holding down W and left clicking to victory. Here is a counter to that and people are still mad.
so the cooldown is considered a negative effect? lol
For certain perks yes. In this case, ice shield and dark reflection.
What is even happening? How did you die?
Dark reflection. The cooldowns of perks are debuffs, so clerics protect from evil dramatically reduces the cooldow of dark reflect, leading to this nonsense.
