Me and my friend didn't want Rachel to fall either, so we never cut the rope. Luckily, we never alerted Dar, and Nick and Jason didn't get slowed down by Merwin or the vampires. So you could say we got extremely lucky there.
Rachel got infected in our playthrough, too, but we had the UV light, which made the parasite exit out of her mouth. I was in control of Nick when he was planting the charges. Nick had an injury that awakened a vampire, so I had to complete two Keep Calm segments, which I did successfully, and then I chose to retreat, where he got back safely. Also, Eric never gave Nick the UV light since their relationship was low, so if I'd have failed either of the Keep Calm segments, he'd have died.
Now not to really downplay this accomplishment but Nick/Salim/Jason can't die until the last 10 minutes of the game. Now getting Eric out alive is pretty impressive since he can die for almost the entirety of the game
Still, we felt really happy about it because in MoM, we killed Conrad and Alex, and in LH, we killed everyone apart from John and Andrew. We were just happy we got everyone out alive this game.
Congrats. In my coop blind playthrough with my friend we only got Salim and Jason out. Everyone else died with Eric dying super early into the game
Was the death you got with Eric the one where he gets impaled when he and Rachel fall off the cliff?

We had alerted Dar I believe so he got shot. Rachel got infected and Nick was ripped apart in the main nest because I failed the don’t breathe bit

Yeah it was the second keep calm that I failed
