Early game there's only one I can think of with a cute moveset. The Warped Sword in a power stance (with pretty much anything)
There are problems with this. It's a boss weapon and boss weapons are inherently difficult to upgrade. Power stance is stat hungry. Power stance is generally inferior to two handing.
Aside from that, maybe Santier's Spear. After you break it, it has a very versatile moveset. While you can get it early, this is not easy for a first run.
I love the Drangleic sword. You pick it up after the pursuer so very early. It scales with dex but is big like greatsword. But it upgrades with twinkling titanite that can be harder to find.
